  • The original Left 4 Dead made surviving a zombie outbreak more fun anyone thought possible. The formula was dead simple -- four survivors against an unending horde of infected -- but the stellar map designs and perfectly balanced combat made for some genuinely tense moments. It quickly became an online staple and now, the sequel is here to offer up more opportunities to hunt down the infected horde.

  • One of the most celebrated franchises of the current generation of consoles makes its triumphant return as master assassin Ezio sneaks and slays through the streets of 15th century Italy. Reviewer-turned-assassin John Davison plunged headfirst into Assassin's Creed 2's incredibly detailed world, and was soon swept away by the game's epic scope and impressive improvements over the 2007 original.

  • The rhythm game genre is reaching a saturation point and LEGO Rock Band is yet another example of publishers actively looking at new ways to try and keep things fresh and interesting for the established fan base. Unfortunately, while the LEGO brand has been enough to help other licenses like Star Wars and Batman find new life, it just doesn't do enough to elevate Rock Band to new heights.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 posted on 11/10/2009
  • Infinity Ward returns with a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Modern Warfare that has already stirred up controversy over the now infamous airport level. But don't let that distract you from the real discussion: is the game any good? Reviews Editor Tae K. Kim spent two days playing every available mode and his impressions follow. The game definitely has potential but its place in video game history will ultimately be decided by the fanatic online community who may take issue with some of the n00b friendly changes.

  • While most people think of fairy tales as colorful children's stories where everyone and everything is happy and bright, the truth is, fairy tales were often grisly affairs with lots of violence and gore. Fairytale Fights harkens back to this tradition with a gruesome emphasis on blood and action but it doesn't inspire anything more than disappointment.

  • It was inevitable that Activision would look to expand its rhythm genre empire and DJ Hero is a noteworthy addition to its arsenal. However, it isn't nearly as accessible nor as polished as its current bread and butter franchise, Guitar Hero. Still, it has potential and the music is good enough that it should convince enough gamers to step up to the ones and twos; we're also certain it will warrant a sequel, which we hope will fix some of the issues that bog down an otherwise noteworthy debut.

  • After putting out those awful prequel movies, Lucas is finally back to form with some fantastic Star Wars related material. Its current cash cow is the highly underrated Clone Wars animated series, a cleverly written and directed show that caters to a younger audience but has enough for adults as well. That's why it's such a shame that the video game spin-off, Republic Heroes, doesn't live up to the high bar set by the terrific show.

  • Let's face it: the apocalypse has been done to death. Nowadays, everyone and their neighbor has some futuristic tale to tell, but this innovative title from 2K Games somehow manages to breathe some new life into a somewhat tired genre.

  • It only took twenty minutes of playing through the new GTA expansion pack, The Ballad of Gay Tony, for Tae to realize that it was the same old GTA that we all know and love. That means more missions, more activities and more crime. But it also means dealing with more of the same issues that have been around since the beginning. Still, for GTA fanatics, this is another reason to venture into the bright lights and dark alleys of Liberty City.
