- UFC 2009 Undisputed
-
With a whole new game built from the ground up, the most popular MMA organization in America is getting a next-gen video game installment with THQ's UFC 2009 Undisputed. Boasting an explosive fighting engine, heavily-detailed character models, and an authentic UFC atmosphere, this game is being marked as the most realistic mixed martial arts fighter yet.
In a contrast to Yukes' pro-wrestling games, the new UFC game is described as a realistic mixed martial arts simulator by its developers. Over 100 UFC personalities will be featured, with over 80 of them being fighters from all five weight classes. An early trailer from June 2008 showed non-fighters such as broadcasters Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan, fight announcer Bruce Buffer, NSAC referee Mario Yamasaki, ring girl Arianny Celeste, cutman "Stitch" Duran and cornerman Juanito Ibarra. Models are highly-detailed with over 30,000 polygons used for fighter models. -

- Virtua Fighter 5
-
Sega's trademark fighting franchise returns with its fifth installment., Virtua Fighter 5! The ultra-realistic martial-arts simulation (or button-masher, depending on your playing style) comes to next gen consoles with beautiful graphics, brand new stages, and several new characters including the Lucha Libre El Fuerte and Kung-Fu master Eileen!
Hot off its stint on the PlayStation 3, Virtua Fighter 5 will officially be landing on the Xbox 360 in the fall of 2007. This comes after word that the developer "begged" to make an Xbox 360 version, presumably because much of the work of porting the arcade original to next-gen consoles had already been completed.
The Xbox 360 version will be a carbon copy of the PS3 version, with no new additional modes or characters planned.
