Resistance flop of sony II

This is my review so you can get the truth about this game.

Ok so the gameplay is the exact same as RFOM. Its like they copied and pasted the gameplay. I noticed no real earth shattering changes in the gameplay department. None warranting a $60 price tag. The controlls were the same for the most part. Nothings special but nothing terrible.

The story is also pretty much the same. Theres some aliens and they have some bad ideas for humans, BLA BLAH BLAH now you have to kill them all. You get a nice selection of guns, but what FPS doesnt have this now or even last gen. Once again nothing to blow $60 on.

The graphics are only slightly and I do mean slightly better then RFOMs. I really expected much for from teh almighty cells and teh almighty blurayz. But nope no major mind blowing graphics either. Once again not $60 worthy.

To sum it all up, Resistance 2 is an average cookie cutter FPS. It brings nothing new to the table and performs no new spectacular tricks. We have all shot aliens in FP view with guns. Its nothing new. Also huge bosses arent new either. Lots of games had huge bosses before R2. I say Hold onto your $60. Buy a pizza or buy Fallout 3. R2 isnt worth the $60.

I would say R2 deserves a 7.5/10.

Mercenaries 2

I bought it and I will give a quick opinion of the game. First off the graphics. They arent bad but for christ sakes I think mercs 1 on ps2 looked better. I have recently bought mercs 1 on xbox and was playing that in anticipation of this game. The xbox version of mercs 1 looks far superior. The vehicles even looked better in mercs 1 especially on xbox.

The vehicles looked more detailed in mercs 1 this is even more apparent in the xbox version. The vehicles in mercs 2 just look kind of blury. The textures in the game seem blurry and muddy. The colors seemed kind of washed out. Now I knew getting into this game it wouldnt look that good and it sure as hell wouldnt look like the 360 and ps3 versions. But damn pandemic and EA could have put a little more effort into the looks and visuals. I mean I know its the ps2 and all but mercs1 looked a tad bit better and thats just sad. Especially with how long this game has been in developement.

The controls are the same thing as mercs 1. I didnt notice much change. Every thing feels familiar to me. The vehicles controls are the same as well. This is one of the games good points. They didnt over complicate things a whole lot. The same cant be said for the games sound effects. The ingame music is ok and sound good. The sound effects like gun shots and explosions sound weak. They were better in mercs 1. They should sound more clear and louder. But they dont. The characters in game dialogue is also weak as all the dialogue doesnt sound as good. Even with sound effects and volume turned up pretty loud all I got was the music to sound good and the gun still sounded weak. I mean we did have good sound last gen right? Mercs 1 sound effects on both the ps2 and xbox sounded well done, crisp and strong. This game sounds almost like crap.

So by now you must have noticed aparticular pattern appearing here. Every thing was better in mercs 1. They are practically the same game just in a new location. of course Im still pretty early in the game but I hope like hell things get better later on. I think playing mercs 1 on the xbox 2 yrs after owning the ps2 version has spoiled me. I thought maybe they had squeezed a little more out of the ps2. But I guess not since the game seems to have regressed actually. I would even go as far as saying pandemic and EA shit this game onto the disc. I mean its ok but thats as far as it goes especially since it was in developement for soo long. If you dont own a next gen system and you want this game then play mercs 1 and wait for it to drop to $20 and then go buy it used at gamestop for $17. If you own a next gen system then get this game on said system because the only difference you will pay for is graphics. Thats it. Its a shame really. I take it its the same game across all platforms and my experioences hasnt been that mind blowing so I would tell even next gen system owners to wait till its $30 or hell $20. EA and Pandemic capitalized off mercs 1 fame and that is sad. But I guess I should be grateful that they bothered to make this game available to ps2 owners. This game would have looked much better on the xbox 1. DAMNED YOU MS!!!

GTA Vice City

VC is my favorite GTA game in the series. Its also the best IMO. The game has a great story inspired by mafia movies and scarface. Its the best story in the series as well. Ray Liotta does a damned good job as the voice of Tommy Vercetti. His voice makes Tommy the coolest GTA character ever. VC has good controls. They are very smooth and fluid. The game still has that same crappy auto aim though. But thats no big deal. VC looks good. The tropical Florida like settings in VC look really fitting. Its almost like your in Florida. This game also has alot of I was born in 84 so I didnt get to experience the 80s but if I did I would want it to be like VC. I have watched Miami vice though and VC reminds me alot of that. VC is full of 80s and personality. From the cars to the radio stations and the popular political topics of the day. The Radio stations are great. Much better then SA radio stations. VRock rules!!!! Thats right I did it. The game does a good job of capturing the feeling of the 80s excess I have heard so much about. What can I say I love this game. Some of the missions can be a real pain in the ass though. But after a few tries you will get them done. This is the classic in the GTA series. A real must have and play for GTA fans. I would hate to see the GTA fan who hasnt played this game. VRRRROOOOCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!! Thats right I did it again. Lazlow is funny as hell.

MGS3 Subsistence

Can MGS3 fix what MGS2 broke? Lets find out shall we. MGS3 is a good game. Yes it does work to patch up some wounds left by the tripe known as MGS2 sons of liberty. Lets face it only die hard fanboys liked that game that much. I used to be one but I saw the light real quick. MGS3 is nice change of pace from the second game. The controls are good. Still a little clunky but familiar none the less. The audio is good as well. The sounds in the jungle are amazing. The guns sound well. Nice and loud like people think guns should sound. The story is pretty decent, much better then MGS2 drivel. It has a classic feel to it. Matter of fact the whole game gives me that feeling of MGS goodness. But not all is well and good though. This game did repair my faith in MGS series a little but I still see some of the same old problem from MGS2 pop up and some new ones. Some of the dialogue in the game can get cheesy and corny as hell. Just like MGS2 it gets painful to watch and listen. The story for the most part is good. I liked it alot. The game suffers some times from the same over the top ridicolous japanese anime action sequences that plagued MGS2. Also just like MGS2 some of the bosses can be very ridicolous. Just wait till you see the fear. It will make you want to quit the series forever. Also my biggest complaint is that they had the best villian and they had to screw it all up. yes Im talking about volgin. Hes bisexual. Its just dumb as hell. he grabs snakes crotch for christ sakes. I wouldnt take him seriously at all and I dont. MGS3 is a good game and I highly recommend that people who are interested get subsistence becaue you get the free moving camera that offers a 3rd person view. You dont know how good this game looks till you see it with the new camera angle. Also anyone who buys this game its also comes with the original Metal Gear and Metal gear: solid snake, both are much better then MGS2 and even MGS3 some what. They both remind me more of MGS then those 2 games did. If your a MGS fan who feels like the series has gone down the crapper then buy this game, because its probably the only good MGS game you will ever see again.

MGS2

The second game in the MGS series just cant seem to hold up against MGS. I remember this game being hyped to hell and back. This game was going to destroy all and own the world konami though. But it didnt. I will get the positives about this game out of the way. The controls are good. A little clunk but not unmanagable. The graphics are great. At the time this was the best looking ps2 game around. You also get some cool weapons and gadgets to play with. But unfortunately thats all the positives. I will list all the negatives, so hide your eyes fanboys. Dont read any further. These negatives dont hurt the game much but MGS2 still proved to not be what I was hoping for. The biggest one is you dont get to play as snake. Yes you can play as him in the tanker chapter and thats it. After that its all crap with raiden. Oh yeah you have to play as raiden through the rest of the game, which blows. That is another big negative about this game. The other one is the story. Kojima seems to have cast aside his MGS roots and went for a more Jap anime story. That translates into alot of cheesy corny dialogue. Crappy over the top action. melodramatic BS and other such jap anime crap. The 3rd one is the bosses. They look and sound like some thing straight from a anime cartoon. They are all ridicolously absurd. Its sad really because the MGS bosses were for the most part cool. But these bosses are lame. The dialogue in the game sounds like crap from anime as well. Its absolutely painful having to listen to it all. It makes me cringe actually. If you must play this game go ahead. Your not missing much. really your not. I doubt even if you played this game it wouldnt help MGS4s story seem anymore believable or understandable.
