Spend some time with Samus
Samus Aran returns to first person action in the new and improved sequel to 2002s breakthrough hit, Metroid Prime. More of a first person adventure than a first person shooter, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes takes Samus the bounty hunter to the mysterious planet Aether. Originally a search and rescue mission for a crashed spaceship, Samus learns that there is much more behind it. Those who are familiar with the first Metroid Prime will find that the controls handle the same way, using the A button to fire the plasma beam as opposed to the right trigger button for most other first person shooters. Aside from the plasma beam, two new weapons can be obtained, the Light Beam and the Dark Beam. The Light Beam works sort of like a shotgun, firing one straight beam of Light energy which is powerful against enemies from the Dark World. The Dark Beam, on the other hand, fires a gooey blob of Dark energy at enemies, and when charged up can freeze enemies in their place, open for attack. Visually, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is stunning. This is just another in the long line of games that shows off the Gamecubes ability. The environments are well depicted and look like they actually exist. Plus, many things occur on the screen, which include tiny flying insects or birds, and with so much going on, the Gamecube doesnt show one bit of slowing down. Another new feature in Echoes that sets it higher above its predecessor is the multiplayer deathmatch mode, similar to that of Halos. Up to four players can battle it out by using all of the same abilities that can be acquired through the single player mode. Four arenas are available at first, and two more can be unlocked by progressing farther in single player mode. Overall, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is a must have for any Gamecube owner. Having a love for adventure is a must, for the environments are quite open. No doubt that it will soon join the ranks as an exclusive Players Choice game.

Think back to all of the RPG's you have ever played before. Way back to the very first Final Fantasy for Nintendo. Think of the great graphics from Super Mario RPG. Think of a wonderful story from Golden Sun. Now, take the exciting turn based fighting from all of them and throw it completely away. Tales of Symphonia puts everything from above into one. A compelling story keeps you playing, and the exciting Real-Time Battle System gets you addicted. It's not just rapid buttun tapping, but casting spells is as easy as a flick of the control stick and the press of the B buttun. Fighting normal monsters is great fun, but the Boss Battles are the most thrilling parts of the game. They pit four of your characters against some of the most diabolical, most evil characters ever put onto the small screen. The story can be confusing at times, and repetitive conversations get slightly annoying, but the deeper the plot goes, you will find the most amazing twists and turns you would never expect. All of the RPG cliches you ever knew, including a Chosen One sent to save the world, a close campanion betraying you, and even travelng on boats and flying machines, are added into this adventures, and even poking fun at other overused cliches in the mix. What else can be said about this two-disc adventure for the Gamecube? Oh yeah, howabout this: BUY IT. After completing it once, I am going to go back and complete the few sidequests that i skipped.

true crime...not much time
My cousin had the game for ps2, i enjoyed it. the game was marked down at a local retail store, so i decided i'd use some leftover gift cards from christmas. before i get started, overall this is a good. nice action, easy car handling, and some funny insults being exchanged throughout our main characters missions. there are four types of missions: fighting, driving, stealth, and shoot em up. fighting is simple. highest button is high kick, middle button is mid- punch, and lowest button is low kick. then the button off to the side is grapple, which i dont use too often. you can learn some sweet but difficult to pull off finishing attacks at the dojo's, with the buttons in a relatively easy area. driving is superb, i love, my favorite part of the game. you can shoot cars from your car, too! handling is pretty responsive and some cars handle better. again you can unlock new cars in bonus missions and unlock some car tricks, like speed boost and ride on two wheels. driving is easy, but when you have to tail a person, you'll get too close and blow your cover or two far away and lose the bad guy. stealth is, well, aggravating. it takes a lot of tries to learn where the bad guys hide and where the noise making obsticles are. you can knock out a guy to help your good cop rating, or break the guys neck and get a bad cop rating. but the missions after stealth are always fun... kill the bad guy missions go by way too quick. they are fun though, run and gun is all the strategy you need. if you put all the shooting levels in a row lengthwise, you would be over in about 10 minutes tops. but you can upgrade your gun to the extreme, all the way to hollow point bullets the destroy cars in three well placed shots tops. in conclusion, i like the game, im working on finding the 30 hidden bones so i can unlock snoop dogg, because the game was beaten in 4 days. dont spend 50 bucks on it, maybe 20. but instead you should rent the game and give it a good beatin in 4 days
