The Ultimate First Person Shooter Experience

The setting: Middle East. Time: noonish. Armed with a sub-machine gun you sprint towards the nearest dumpster for cover and crouch. You do not know exactly where the enemy may appear but one thing is for certain...it is better to be behind the cover of a dumpster than to be parading in plain sight. You look down the barrel of your gun taking aiming with the attached red-dot sight. No one in front of you...yet. You veer a little outside cover to take aim on your left. Two bullets whiz over your head. You go back behind the dumpster. Your position has been compromised. There are few tactics left, you can either run cover or you stay and fight. The first option involves running through the middle of a wide-open plaza...which would make you a perfect target for waiting snipers. The second option may place you in a life or death situation with your unknown attacker. You choose option two. You re-load your weapon to make sure you don't run out of bullets during the impending gun-fight. Your assailant fires five more rounds at the dumpster. Four jump off and pass over your head. One hits you in the shoulder. You're hurt. From the sounds of the bullets it sounds that he's using an M-4 assault rifle. You hear his footsteps ever closer. Now's the time. You throw one of your flash grenades near the sound of approaching footsteps and brace for explosion. A small bang signals that the explosive went off. Your assailant starts shooting wildly but nowhere near your direction. He's disoriented. You come out of cover face to face with your attacker and unload 6 rounds on his body until he falls flat on the ground. You're triumphant...that is until a sniper shot hits you on the head. "Dammit!!! Now I have to re-spawn".

I've just described the exhilarating multiplayer experience of CoD4. The game is fast and furious and entertaining. It presents the grim and gruesome modern day warfare. The developers were extra careful in creating the multiplayer levels of the game. There is no absolute advantage point...each corner can be entered and compromised by the enemy. The level of detailing and balance in the game is astounding. The graphics are beautiful. War has never looked this good. The controls are tight and responsive (no matter if you choose the Xbox or PS3 version). This game definitely is a masterpice. Do yourself a favor and play it.
