Living up to the Creed
I think this game was great and makes up for its lack of variety through a great story and fun combat mechanics. The combat is very stylish and the story about the templars is very engaging because it is infused with actual historical fact and characters. The plot twist is at the end is especially interesting, and shows you that when you think you have the story figured out you are wrong! While it is lacking in mission variability it more than makes up for in combat and story. The leaps of faith also never get old! The graphics are some of the best on the 360 and the feel of your surroundings is not found in any other game to date. When you gently shove someone aside or blow through a crowd fleeing from gaurds, every move is intuitive and flowing. This game is a must have for all 360 owners, but if you own a PC pick that edition up instead because it has more mission types and is said to play the same(if you're not an achievement whore that is).

Just not what I thought it would be...
I'm sorry that I have to do this but I really do not agree with the gamepro staff on this one. This game seems like the fundamentals of Final Fantasy fused with Pokemon and other crappy anime cartoons. As an adult I do not like this game. It's like playing Pokemon Snap. I must have missed what they were trying to achieve with this game, the impression I got was mediocrity or boredom. I guess Microsoft was so desperate for a big RPG for thier console they released something that was geared towards the Japanese market in America. Just because it was lauded in Japan does not mean American gamers will like it. The voice acting was forgettable, the character models look like something out of a fifth graders sketch book, and the music was decent but what the hell was up with the boss battle music? I don't care if that guy did sing "Smoke on the Water" his a$$ does not belong in a boss battle in Blue Dragon or any other game for that matter. Also the extremely long corporeal attacks could have used a shut off valve as well. All that graphics goodness just leads to boredom after the 200th time you've seen it. For all these reasons my final thoughts of Blue Dragon are: An RPG it is, a classic it is not.
