Worth the wait and it's weight in gold.
Where do I begin? Let's start with the graphics, they are great. The color schemes are fantastic and the malformed infected masses and the creatures that dwell with them are done quite well. The environments tend to get you in that certain mood for shooting hordes of infected folks and their dogs. The explosions are wicked, I even squinted a couple of times after shooting a barrel. By the way I have my PS3 hooked to a 36in HDTV, and I must say the graphics look absolutely awesome. there isn't truly anything wrong with the audio, the drop down list didn't contain the item I wanted to put their, so I listed the category that was least harmful.
Now let's talk about the game play. This is a true resident evil game based on the game play alone. You have to stop to shoot, so you must plan your every move, in time you should be able to so this intuitively, especially if you have played the previous of the game. The on-the-fly inventory scheme is pretty cool, even though at times you wish you had room for just one may be two more items, nonetheless I found it to actually add to the intensity of the game. The online coop mode is fantastic. Your partner may be invisible for about a second or two, that's the only thing I truly found that stood out to me,
The mercenary mode is very intense and I find it quite addicting – I just have to find more time bonuses. You can play as either Chris or Sheva; you get a substantial amount of ammo, with pick-ups along the way. The longer and the more combo kills you get, the higher the rank and you'll be able to move on to the next scenario.
Overall, this is a very good game, it is fantastic, if you are a fan of the series. I am very pleased with what CAPCOM has done with Resident Evil 5. They did not disappoint me in the least. I will be playing this game for awhile, there are a lot of goals that still have to be met and I will have a whole lot of fun trying to achieve them. If you are a fan of the series, this is a must have and if you are new to resident evil, then welcome, this is not your everyday FPS or TPS (tomb raider). The game play is based on intensity and conservation of ammunition, but it will be very enjoyable and rewarding experience. This game stays in my video game library, along with RE, RE2, RE3, and RE4.

Titans, Leviathan and Chameleons , oh my
The low down:
The game is fun to play and I am not really a fan of fps (first person shooter), but I have to make an exception to this one. If this game had lean around corners from a covered position, it would have been perfect. Did I say this was a fun game?
The graphics were very good. The alien ships look awesome in the sky and the 300 ft. creature is truly weird looking to say the least. The Chimera, hybrids and others are some very ugly creatures. The battles can be very intense at times.
The game has a way of offering the right weapon at the right time, but in few scenarios, I am not going to say when, you get an abundance to choose from, so choose wisely and if offered a large one, it would be wise to take it. The main idea and best idea is to keep the right two weapons on hand.
If you are tactically impaired (being politically correct), you will reach your demise quite often, so stay on your toes, keep low when possible, and use the environment to your advantage.
Overall
This is a good game for single player. The campaign is highly intense, you might bite the dust a few times, but you'll get through if you are persistent. I recommend it for those looking for a fun fps to play, this is the one. So, strap on your combat boots, lock and load and get ready for some intense action. I give it a 4.5 total rating.

| Just plain fun | Doesn't live up to expectations |
Lara is back with something new and something old
Yes, Lara is back. She has new moves added to her repertoire, but her old glitches and camera hiccups keep her from becoming a great game.
I killed a guy on the big boat and he died on his knees with this gruesome look on his face, it was hilarious. During certain parts of the game she would pass through objects, she even kicks though them too. You'll notice at time when standing on a pole she sometimes stands in the air, that what was bought over from the previous Tomb Raider games of the series.
The new field help item is a blessing and if used properly will get you out of hard to figure out places (you may not need that walk-through).
The graphics were good, but not great as expected in this gen. She pushed aside brush as she walks through the jungle is kind of cool.
The game play had that same feeling as in the earlier games and at times can be frustrating if you never played a game i this series before. If you have played Tomb Raider in the past you will see little difference in game play except for her new moves, and probably adapt well to the game, newcomers will find it a little frustrating in the beginning, but should catch on quickly.
I am playing the game for the second time, I'm a big fan, but it could have been a little better. I give it a 4.0/5.0.

Devilishly SHort
Let's start out by saying this is a good game, even though it is a female version of "God of War". The graphics are very good, but not great. The game play was also good. At times the game can get real cheesy. Your sword passes through your intended target, but theirs always hit its mark.
The after-touch takes a while to get, but once you have it, it a great resource. May be in HS 2 they'll give them eagle eye vision and you can zoom in on distant target. The story line is great and I really got into it, but the game is short, really short. May be the developers did it on purpose so we might yearn for more, hopefully HS2 will be longer and not so cheesy. Over all I did enjoy the game, I recommend it as an excellent rental. I bought it for $10.00, and I am happy with my purchase. $39.99, may be a little to high of a price considering the games length.

| Intense action |
Soulfully Great....Button mashing never been so great.
I pre-purchased Soul Calibur IV in June, hoping it would be at least as goos as it predecessors. I've played Soul Blade and many of the characters were still going to be in this release, so I took the chance.
On July 29, 2008, I sat by window anxiously waiting for UPS to show up and lo and behold at 11:07 it did, I ran to meet the UPS driver like he was a long lost lover, and I was happy as child on Christmas morning.
I dove right into the game, not realizing I had a key chain that also came with the game, I discovered several hours later.
The game-play had that old familiar feel to it, if you played it in the past you should have no problem picking it up and doing some damage. The characters looks and animation are remarkable as well as the graphics. The different modes offer some depth to the game, but as I have read the story mode was disappointing to most, but not to me. The Tower mode makes up for that 10 fold and is not as easy as the Story mode either. The ability to not only customize the default character, but to actually create a character from scratch is an awesome feature not typically found in fighting games of this genre. You will probably spend more time customizing and creating new characters than fighting. I had my girlfriend come over and play and she spent 40 minutes creating and customizing her character, which took me less than a minute to beat, LMAO. Anyone ca plat this game it is easy to pick up, and once you hae one characters moves down you can just about play all of them. Darth Vader is a cool character, though I wish his kicking skills were a little better, but we still will rule the galaxy with an iron fist.
Needlessly to say, I am very happy with my purchase, the key chain is kind of crappy, but what do you expect, it was free.
Buy it, if you are truly a fan and if you are just getting on the wagon, the learning curve is not steep at all. ENJOY!!!
