LAIR Worth The Second Look
Initially when I played LAIR I had mixed feelings about the game. The graphics and sound are top notch and the overall game has very high production values. The story was well written and the characters have personality thanks to quality voice acting. On the other hand the SIXAXIS dragon flight controls could be very frustrating to even the most veteran of gamers so much so that you die more often from not being able to control your dragon's spastic flight. The lock-on system and lack of any targeting reticle also play into what I consider one of the worst gameplat decisions in recent history. However as the title of my reveiw indicates I have since downloaded the FREE update for LAIR that on top of including two additional dragons allows you to switch to analog flight and turn on a crosshair. Thank you Factor 5 for finally making LAIR, one of the game I was so looking forward to when I got my PS3, as fun as it is pretty. Though the game still suffers from last-gen design in terms of mission structure and truly feels like Star Wars Rogue Squadron with dragons instead of one the "alphabetically named wing" space ships it is still a fun game with an engaging story. Here's hoping that a sequel come out to expand upon the LAIR universe.

Still Hungry
Like a gourmet meal at a fancy restaurant GT5 Prologue delivers a pallet-pleasing taste of what is to come in the final GT5. The sad part is that there is not much to do in this game besides race the 60+ stock cars on 6 tracks that have multiple configurations offering a god variety of tracks and cars. Would have like less Nissans in lue of a few more manufacturers but hey why not Nissan got the cover shot anyway with its prototype car. So that being said after a few days of racing and earning money and buying more cars I am still hungry for more. I know this was the general idea behind the Prologue release but I still wanted to see more of the new customization options and in a day and age when this game has to compete with Forza body dame would have been nice. I know GT games never had it but the power of the PS3 could surely handle it. Overall it is a good driving game and the $40 price is nice but considering the lack of options and the so-so online I am still waiting for the real deal.

A return to its roots for one amazing game
Some minor gripes aside Rachet and Clank is one of those games that make you glad you are a gamer. With a great mix of platforming, shooting and even space combat to break up the action from time to time. This marks developer Insomniac's second title for the PS3 and they once again have proven that making great games for the PS3 is entirly possible. With a rather slim line-up of exclusives for this holiday season R&CF:TOD stands out as one of the must have titles fromt he PS3 this year. The gameplay is almost perfect, as a matter of fact the only gripe I have is not so much the game's fault as it is the newly designed L2 and R2 buttons are less comfortable to use in some cases that the older DS2 controller. Otherwise the sound, voice acting, graphics and humor keep you going from begining to end to discover the origins of the Lombax race and has you fighting some amusing and memorable enemies along the way. The storytelling and visuals are more like something you would expect from a PIXAR film than a video game. It is just that good. If you have a PS3 and you are looking for fun and adventure than dont wait any longer go grab this game. This could be the platform game of the year if not the of the last 5 years. Best game in the series.
