Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation - Xbox 360

It's not bad, but it ain't great

To be honest, I kinda have a liking to Ace Combat since AC4: Shattered Skies. That was an ok game too, and AC6 follows suit as a serviceable game that really doesn't need a plot (and quite frankly should'nt bother trying to a plot in it). Plot problems aside, it's a great flying game, with a good bevy of planes to choose from. Stay away from the bombers unless you're flying in the plane they first give you at the start and it'll save you quite a bit of grief. Other than that I really have no other complaints, but I recommend renting it instead of buying. Most gamers will get done with it in at least two playsittings.

Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360

Grand Theft Auto IV

First off, it's a great game that worth every penny of the price tag I paid for it. The content on the game disc alone is long enough to fill a three-hour movie epic. Almost everything here is perfect. Shooting is much better than San Andreas thanks to the combination lock-on and freeform aiming system. It makes you really feel like you know where you're shooting at, but there's a quirk about it that I'll get to later. The graphics look great, but a bit more polish could've set it off wonderfully. The vehicles get the only pass in this department because they're absolutely gorgeous. Now for the only two problems that should've been addressed before its release, therefore keeping it from a perfect score. The shooting system's only flaw is that it's hard to go from person to person, letting the enemies get in some uncontested potshots at you. But even the shooting gets a pass because the driving is just downright horrible. Even when I'm just driving at five miles an hour on a non-mission event, I can spinout?! What the hell's going on here? Making things worse, is that the driving takes a even bigger nosedive during the missions at hand, coming up with some hugely stupid ways to fishtail and eventually crash. The driving system's so bad that most of the time I took a cab!. The only thing great about driving is shooting from the driver's side, which was rather easy to do. Again, GTA IV is a game that should be played by anyone and everyone. Despite its flaws, it's the most new-player-friendly GTA yet, and hopefully said flwas will be fixed when the new content comes out later this year.

NBA Live 2005 - Xbox

The first user review, here goes...

I liked the game because of three things: its great graphics, its controls, and of course the Slam Dunk Contest. I mean come on, who don't like the Dunk Contest? Anyway, back to business, the Xbox's graphics system really carries the game to where you're probably thinking a real game is going on, provided, you put the camera in a television sort of way. But still, no matter where the camera's at, you get a good immersion into it with graphics and sound. The controls are like the EA's NCAA titles, X button for inside work. B button for shooting long twos to threes. It's probably the best control system in any basketball title. And finally, the best mode ever, the Slam Dunk Contest. The really awesome dunks, like going through the legs twice, are like playing Mortal Kombat, but in mid-air, so fool around with it a bit. The graphics and sound really come to play in the Slam Dunk Contest, so don't miss out. This has to be one of the best basketball games on the market. I highly recommend picking it up.

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - Xbox

My version's on Gamecube, but I'll review it anyway.

It is a very impressive game for anyone to play and I highly recommend it. The thing I like about the game is that it is so close to the movies and that the battles you fight in is incredible.

Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth - PC

I enjoyed it.

With good graphics and battlefields not mentioned in the movies, The Battle for Middle-Earth is definitely a must own title. I love the way each of the different armies are represented on the battlefield and how they each differ. Rohan's more rural and has the better calvary than Gondor. Gondor's more urban and revolutionized than Rohan and has the stronger infantry. And so on and so forth with the Uruks and the Orcs. The only problem is that it can get tougher and a wee bit boring, but overall a good score. Good job EA Games.
