Long Live MVP Baseball!
Baseball games are tough because they can be long and boring at times especally on the pitching end. In addition to that it seems like its more luck than preperation at times. However MVP Baseball 2005 might not have the next gen graphics like the new baseball games. Neither does it have the realisim and physics of the latest sleeper MLB 2k games. But MVP is the most fun you will have on the virtual diamond. The recent MLB the Show games have copied EA's brillant pitch meter but nothing currently is as great as the pitching meter in MVP 2005. The hitters eye its fun because offspeed pitches are in diffrent colors while the pitcher winds up so you can get your timing right. The better the pitcher the less you will see the color of the pitch. The throw meter for feilder also makes every throw fun and intense. If your 360 red rings like mine did and u still have a older gen ps2 or xbox this is a great buy. Owner mode is fun and gives you the goal to build and awesome stadium or at least thats why i played it. This game is much more fun filled than any current game on the market.

Good Thing 2k does not have the liscensing rights for hockey
I think this game came out with bad timing. Here you have NHL 08 for ps3 and 360 both adding features we have been blaring to add and then some. At the same time 2k sports finally decides to copy somehthing EA created (skill stick) and make it worse.Just as NHL 08 shocked me, even with my high hopes, NHL 2k8 shocked me even though i knew it was just going to be a roster update that is holding back the innovation of hockey games. As much as EA games have been bashed for being roster updates this game is just that. Just like 2k7 this is not a next gen hockey game its just a better looking version of ps2 and xbox versions of the game. As a hockey player i really like to feel as close to playing as a can while holding the controller. The new controls even using my real world hockey instics take a period or 2 to almost get used to how bad they suck. They actually help slow the fluid motion of the game down unlike the skill stick EA controls that do the excact opposite. In an attempt to make this game more difficult they failed to make it feel like you were actually skating. The graphics are hammie downs compaired to NHL 08 but the only problem is NHL 08 has a smooth in game framerate which makes it alot better. In short this is a mediocre game that the NHL should learn why they do not need to give an excusive liscense to either franchise but 2k especally. I wanted to player hate this game since I prefer the EA games but it suked even more than i excpected this game to suck. EA is doing big things in hockey that are for once combining fun and simulation into one synergistic game. At the same time EA hockey is now flying at an all time high NHL 2k8 is moving hockey games at a pace as fast as a snail riding a bike with 2 flat tires.

NHL 08 This Is The Most Realistic In Depth Fun Filled Hockey Sim Ever
You know 2k sports is going down the tubes when they pulled a maddden and made nhl 2k8 a roster update with copied controls from NHL 07. The Boys at EA in vancouver finally made a hockey sim but still added the fun on EA hockeys past. The first thing you will realize is how much better the A.I. is and how it adjusts to your cameplay. I learned this when i tried to deke out a defender and unlike in NHL 07 where you get bumped and keep going this time I got layed out. Likewise making big hits takes alot of timing and If you play defense like me in real life you will be able to adjust a little quicker but it will still be tough to protect the pipes. I was pumped when I saw the AHL teams actually playable in this game including my homestate hartford wolf pack and my favorite NHL minor league team the philadelphia phamtoms. 2k usually gives you alot of custimization but 2k customization is not even close to NHL 08's RPG like options. You can change your helmet, skates, skate radius(blade placement, gloves, stick flex, curve, brand and tape color. All these things are risk and reward like one stick curve might give you a sick slapshot but a bad backhand. You can test this with and player on your team and edit the gear they wear and created players wear. While in edit mode you can do drills to test stick skates and see how you look in a RBK helmet vs a Bauer helmet. If you want fun, simulation, custimization, and Computers that act like people and constantly adjust in real time I think you should get NHL 08.

Best Portable Star Wars
I am very suprised at how quick the price for battlefront 2 is dropping at now that the new psp exclusive starwars is coming out soon. After having the game for almost a month now i have to say this is the best portable version of star wars yet! Many PSP ports have histories of being pretty clsoe to console counterparts and the same goes for thus game. This is what makes the psp great youre not getting a 2d version or a completely diffrent version like the DS gets far too often your getting a portable console experence. The space fights are fun even on the go and ground fights are fun as well. And you wont bee albe to dominate as a jedi right off the bat in this game you need to learn overtime how to use your powers when you get a jedi power upin battle. Galactic conquest is fun and hard and is nice to have on the go. This game helped me through my 18 hour flight to south africa and it was only $15 at the time and hte price keeps dropping. This game is a bargin at $15 compaired to the origional price of $50.

Tony Hawks No Loading Levels
American Wasteland introduced us to an acual full world of skating. No loading and alot of variety. It also was nice how they added the bike feature in to make it a 2 in 1 game. No more $50 for matt hoffman $50 for Tony Hawk its all in one game. There are alot of chalenges and again the challenges range in variety which is another great thing about this game. One downside to having one city being LA is that we dont get the scenery change like in the origional Tony Hawks Underground. Even though you unlock new parts of the city you dont get to prove what you have at tampa or get to choose which team you will ride for and are limited to the boundries of LA. The daily chanlenges however is one thing that is nice about the progression of your chrachter and are fun ways to get better. Another progression added to the Tony Hawk games in this game are board stalls. Its fun being able to do board stalls on rails and ledges and not being forced to do them just on ramps. This game is fun to complete and has a whole world of things to offer.
