Turok 2: Seeds of Evil - PC

One of my favorite games from my childhood

Man, it was sweet, I still remember playing this badboy like it was yesterday. Being a large fan of the first game I knew I was in for a real treat with this one, And boy I was right. The game has changed much since the first one and for the better, better graphics, cooler and more unique out of this world weapons, and one of the sweetest multi-player features at the time - 16 player online deathmatches!! For one the game is a bit darker than the first, not taking place in a jungle, but in a destroyed city, with many new strange and unique creatures. The game is very linear just like the first one but it is just a pure no-brainer FPS at heart. Today this game doesn't mean much but to people who enjoyed it in the late 90's its a great memory and for some a great into to full 3D FPSs.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - PC

Unique and Brilliantly Executed

Sometime around 97' or 98' my dad bought me a new 3D accelerator video card for my PC and along with it I got one of my favorite video games as a child, TUROK: Dinosaur Hunter. I dont know exactly where to begin, but I will say this, the game breathed a whole new life into the same old FPS games coming out at the time. The level design was awesome, the character design was brilliant, and the weapons were fierce. The sound effects were also excellent, i still remember the sounds and they were executed very effectively and the graphics were great for th time but be warned, this is a no-brainer FPS game that is fairly linear. Despite the straightness of the game I felt it was an excellent action game for the time. Today people wont understand why I feel this game is so great but It was just one of the first FPS games other that DOOM that bought and I truly loved, and it is a part of my childhood as a gamer.

Deus Ex: Invisible War - Xbox

An Innovative Masterpiece

I really didn't know what to expect with this game, since there wasn't much hype and i didn't play the first PC one. The story is great and sucks you and makes you pick and choose different objectives and paths. That means no game will have the same path, and this is very true unlike games like Fable this game is not linear at all. My original file was accidentally deleted on my xbox a long time ago so i decided to restart the game and I went on a totally different path, and the story was different. The game is a true gem and very underrated.

Goblin Commander: Unleash The Horde - Xbox

with little expectations its not so bad

I didn't expect much from this game when my dad brought it home after work. I watched my sister play it and i found the graphics to look more like PS2 than xbox standards, but she said it was actually fun, so i decided to try it out. I was never a big fan of strategy games or haven't played much but i think this game really helped me get into them. The game has a simple idea of destroying objects and getting points/gold from what you destroy, with that you can buy more soldiers for your 4 little armies, which have stronger soldiers with different specialties. This is simple but works very well and i found the game a blast and multiplayer is really fun. like the title says if you don't expect much from the game you could be pleasantly surprised.

FlatOut - Xbox

It's not too shabby

I really didn't know what to expect when i put this badboy in the xbox, but i wasn't too disappointed. The games graphics aren't too shabby but they don't meet xbox standards because its not too detailed and gets blurry when at high speeds. The controls I found for a while very sloppy but i guess that's how it should be when you driving beat up shitboxes all over muddy terrain, but this is nothing you cant get used to. The AI is very aggressive and you might have some instances when you will throw your controller down, and start yelling like a moron. The most annoying thing about the game is not being able to have custom soundtracks, they force you to listen to the most annoying, redneck, rockabilly music ever. However here are some cool features though like upgrading your car, and the bonus games that are really fun for a while. bonus games like smash up derby, and the ragdoll games, which involve your player getting thrown out of the car trying to hit a marker to get a certain amount of points. Overall the racing is great there is a wide variety of tracks, like on roads, farms, in the snow, construction sites, and forests. There is lots of smashing and it's great fun but its wont last for too long.
