ESPN NBA 2K5 - Xbox

Another MVP Season

Not only does ESPN NBA 2K5 have the best graphics for a basketball game on any console, it also has the best graphics of any sports game on any console. The faces and body morphs are the best overall of any game of any genre on any platform. Visual Concepts finally nailed the graphics, and the results are terrific. The game isn't all flash though, there is substance as well. The commentary is beefed up by the recognizable voice of Bill Walton. The same great gameplay is back, as is an improved 24/7 mode, that has kept me busy for weeks on end. I am still thoroughly engulfed in this game, even months after I first got it. In fact, I didn't get any other games for Christmas, because until the end of basketball season, this is all I need. This is the real deal, it can't hurt to pick it up either. MSRP $19.99 is the best price of any new game released this year. This one is a champion. (GO PACERS!!!) Graphics: 5.0 --- Sound: 5.0 --- Control: 5.0 --- Fun Factor: 5.0

ESPN Major League Baseball 2K4 - Xbox

The Real Fall Classic

Gamepro claims that the graphics and physics of ESPN baseball 2K4 are floaty, well don't take this to heart. If you played last year's version of the game (WSB 2K3), the graphics are noticably more smooth and realistic. This is the real deal, hundreds of jerseys and hundreds of faces. Any SEGA fan should buy this game and cherish it, the gameplay is suberb to MLB 2004, which Gamepro rates as a "League Leader". ESPN is the real deal in both graphics and control, the ESPN package gives it a realism previously unseen in the genre. A must-buy!!!

Dynasty Warriors 4 - Xbox

Hitting X has never been as fun

Dynasty Warriors 4 is a very similar game to DW3, in fact, many wont notice the difference. The gameplay is the same, but KOEI has added a role-playing aspect previously unseen in this type of game. One can actually build experience and create players and bodyguards. This game is the PERFECT RENTAL!

NFL Street - Xbox

Control - 0.5

For some reason, NFL Street looks really fun from the beginning. The quirky character designs and personalities are a huge plus. Once the game starts though, the fun ends. Impossible controls on defense and overeasy controls on offense really do not set a football tone. The concept is good, but EA missed the boat as it did with NBA Street Vol. 2

Sega GT 2002 - Xbox

SEGA is close

SEGA GT 2002 is the most realistic racing sim on the X-Box. It succeeds quite well at this. The car physics are the much more realistic than those of GT3, and the graphics are on par if not better. SEGA GT has taken a turn from its Dreamcast version, though. The original game dealt with equiping asian rice rockets with nitrous boosters and custom parts, much like EA's need for speed underground. In going European, SEGA has kept the thrill alive, but in a different way. Repetition is key in GT 2002, and those with short attention spans probably wont beat it. The Chronicle mode is very fulfilling in the end, as you unlock useful cars. The whole package is really polished, but not quite Gran Turismo. It is a separate entity. It doesn't hurt that it used to come free with the X-Box, either.
