Soul Calibur II
Even at it's age, SCII is still one of the greatest fighting games of all time. The weapon combat is extraordinary and extremely well balanced. With a wide variety of characters, you're bound to find at least one that fits your tastes. The graphics still hold up nicely today, even compared to games like Tekken 5. The controls are nearly perfect, and the sound is amazing. If you like fighting games and don't already have this one, go pick it up. With infinite replayability, you're bound to come back for more.

Killzone
Halo killer? Hardly. A decent game? For sure. While the gameplay is dated and all of the promises weren't delivered, Killzone is an enjoyable game, but has many, many problems. The chugging of the PS2 during intense firefights doesn't help the games overall score. The controls are wonky, and the aiming is dreadful. The sound is decent; hearing the enemy shout when a grenade is near, the cling-cling of your shells hitting the ground, it all comes out sounding nicely. The graphics were amazing for a PS2 game, and are still among the best on the system. The story is the real draw here. The intense grittiness of war is surreal and innivative. You play as Jan Templar, part of the IRS. You are fughting against the Helghan; a group of humans sent to the planet Helghan. At first the planet made them weak, but then they became stronger and want to take revenge on Earth. I won't spoil the story, but it's a good one. Rent it if you are looking for some sun, then play Killzone: Liberation for the PSP, and hold out for the jaw-dropping Killzone 2 headed for a 2008 relese on the PS3. Good luck soldier!

Ninja Gaiden: Sigma
A truly remarkable and fantastic bloodbath! If you haven't played the other versions of Ninja Gaiden and have a PS3, go buy this game now! If you have played the other versions, there isn't a real need to return for another round of ninja madness, but it will be fun and challenging nonetheless. You play as Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja with a view to kill. The graphics are great, the self shadowing is a nice feature too. The other versions of the game had great graphics, and this sets the standards for action games everywhere. The controls work out nicely, and the sound is pretty good; from the slashing of a sword to the sounds made by your footsteps as you run along walls. I, along with many other reviewers, would have to say this is probably the hardest video game of the last few generations, if not of all time. If you're frustrated easily, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this game to you. You are bound to see the "Game Over" screen many, many times.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure
Rygar is a stunning game filled with mystery, suspense and intrigue. If you loved the God of War games, or just love action/adventure games, check this out now. You play as Argus, a hero whoe uses a weapon called the "Diskarmor", which is essentially a shield attached to a chain (a la the Blades of Chaos). The story line is as epic as they get, the gameplay is spot on, and the controls are top notch. the orchestrated audio aspect of the game is nothing short of astonishing. This game easily stands in the ranks of the greatest action adventure games ever created. the game isn't without flaws though. The camera is a little wonky at times, and the grappeling is awkward at first. I highly recommend this game to all PS2 owners. Give it a chance, and I am sure Rygar will find a place in your heart.

A Grand Adventure That You Can Replay!
This game is fantastic. The combat is smooth and fluent, though not as deep as it could be. The controls are spot on and the graphics are gorgeous. The cel-shaded visuals add to the experience and make you feel like you are part of an anime adventure. The game itself isn't the longest out there, but with all the extras there is 100+ hours of gameplay. You play as Jaster, a youn man on the desert planet Rosa. You soon become recruited onto a space-pirate ship. Nad thus your gran tale unfolds. I love this game and recommend it to anyone who has a PS2 and likes RPG's.: GRIMMICE
