Just One of Those Games...
Despite the ever-growing gap between the graphics of this game and those on the cutting edge, I still love getting lost in the world of Unreal. Every time I get a new computer, it's the first game that gets put on there. There is just something about the combination of sounds, visuals, and actual play that never gets old to me. If you enjoy first-person shooters and aliens, then there is really no reason you shouldn't enjoy this game. The storyline is good enough to keep you engaged, and something about the sounds really sets a cool atmosphere. There is also a lot of variation in the weapons--both human and alien. Try playing it at least once and you'll see what I mean.

Deliciously Wonderful
How could a Star Wars RPG be anything less than stellar? Well if it's KotOR, perfection slips from its hands thanks to the crappy combat system. Perhaps folks who are particularly fond of turn-based fighting enjoyed it, but I had some difficulty in the beginning. I got used to it, but only chagrinedly so. Thankfully every other aspect of the game makes up for it. Everything from character creation to the light or dark side choices is enjoyable. Plus, once the lightsaber is in your hands, not even turn-based fighting can distract you from the awesomeness. The most solid aspect of this game? The storyline. Complete with a twist M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of. Once the momentum starts rolling on the story, it's hard to stop playing. I was so hard-core into this game the first time I played, I even took my XBOX to my parents' house so that I would not be interrupted by something as trivial as Thanksgiving. It was serious. Basically: buy it

Massive!
The only two gripes I have with this game are the controls and the character design. But these short-comings are not even enough of a nusance for me to deter you from giving this game a shot. Morrowind is so massive, and has so much for you to interact with, I just have to recommend that you move this to the top of your 'must-have' list if you consider yourself an RPG fan at all. I can't even tell you how many hours I put into this game. If you typically play a thief, this game is especially satisfying. The action/consequence relationship is highly sophisticated, and the objects to steal are seemingly endless. Exciting maps, fun characters, numerous objects, tons of quests, and atmosphere-inducing weather/time changes are just a few of the things that make this game so freaking cool. If you liked Fable but wanted more from it, get this game; it will satiate your craving.

Weapon Augmentation a Plus
Whoa! The water looks real! Graphics are what hooked me in, but it was nice to see some serious follow-through with the overall gameplay. As much as I enjoyed the first game, the second Dark Alliance keeps everything that worked for the first game in tact, but kicks it up a notch. Weapon augmentation adds is an interesting facet of the game added to give you more to do. It's a great thing to play around with and really gives the hard-core nerds (D&D peeps, I'm speaking to you) that little something extra to make the experience special. It's always nice to be able to customize your weapon--it makes it feel more like it's your own. Worth the buy.

Second Verse Better Than the First!
KotOR II took the best technical aspects of the first game and improved upon them, but all of those hours must have been in lieu of creating a storyline on par with its predecessor. Despite the lack of stellar scripting, I believe the overall gameplay improved over the first game and is worth the buy. Grab it wherever you can and add it to your collection immediately. You'll be very pleased you did.
