Almost, but not quite
The sadest thing about Jaws: Unleashed is that there is a fun game trying to get out underneath all the problems. In this game, you play as Jaws, and bring your wrath on corporations that are trying to take over a city and the surrounding waters. As Jaws, it is your job to eat and destroy just about everything. Jaw's attacks are well done, with biting, tail whips, and other attacks that are upgradable. The mission objectives are vague. Eventually you understand what you need to do, but by then, you've probably ripped your PC out of the wall because of the game's greatest issue: controling Jaws. You make Jaws move with the wasd buttons, and control whether he goes up or down with the mouse. However, the mouse is extremely sensetive and controling Jaws is very annoying, if not next to impossible. Jaws could have been great. Instead, Majesco has released something that should be considered a massive waste of potential. If you're a hardcore Jaws fan, give it a try, but prepare to be disappointed.

You must be the new kid...
Although it is created by Rockstar, Bully should not be immediatly compared to GTA, as every PTA parent in the country is doing. Yes, it has an open world, and violence (though no guns, blood, or death) but Bully is much more than that. As 15 year old Jimmy Hopkins, you must survive school at Bullworth academy. The school features stereotypical cliques, such as Bullies, Nerds, and Jocks. You do various missions for each clique, most of them involving fething something or doing something that angers a ribal clique. The sheer number of missions will stagger even a GTA player. There is just so much to do in the game. However, a few problems do arise. Strange glitches such as the enviroment materializing around you, and framerate issues are suprising, considering the amount of time Bully was in development. Still, it is very easy to forgive the game. All it all, Bully is not GTA for kids. It isn't even GTA's little brother. Instead, it takes a saterical look at the lives of school kids everywhere. Bully is the perfect swan song for the PS2, and there is no reason for you not to own this new form of social commentary.

Eh... my brain hurts.
I will admit that I am a big fan of Sudoku. The puzzles are a good way to pass the time, and it has to be educational, somehow. That's why I was thrilled to learn of a Sudoku game for the DS. When I played it, however, my enthusiasm was replaced with a feeling of... spite. The very system you use to play the game is broken. To choose a square, you tap on it, then pick a number from the choices. This is not the system that was used in Sudoku for Brain Age, and I am suprised Nintendo let this pass. This is much more clunky and generic than it should have been. Granted, the game is $20, so you're not going to break the bank if you buy it. But in all honesty, stick with the paper and pencil version.

If you have a DS, get it now. If you don't, get a DS and then get it.
What more can be said about Metroid Prime Hunters? The game is great. The graphics are absolutly beautiful for a DS game, sometimes riviling the PSP. The gameplay is the best Metroid has to offer. The shooting is precise, accurate, and above all fun. The morph ball has changed from the First Hunt demo, but for the better. It instantly responds to the D pad or the stylus. The sound shows off the best that the DS can offer. The addition of other bounty hunters really adds depth to the Metroid universe. Each character has special abilitys, though they play similarly. And the online play, oh the online play, is incredible. Remember the feeling you first got playing Halo 2 online? Multiply that by 10 and you have Metroid Prime Hunters. If I were being picky, I'd say that the control takes a little getting used to, but using the touch screen to aim blows away any 2 analog setup. This is the game the DS has been waiting for.

Mario Kart DS
This is the premier reason to own a DS. The racing is pure fun, mario kart 64 style. The control works with the D pad, and the bottom screen is used to see the other racers and their items. It really is hard to describe the mastery that is Mario Kart DS. Buy it for yourself and see.
