Super Smash Bros. Brawl

This game is definitely almost everything I hoped it could be. There are only a select few things that hold the 5.0 away. The first is the Great Maze. It makes a story mode that I thought was better than most give it credit for terribly boring. Half the time in the story as a whole was spent there, and I hardly had the will power to make myself finish. The second problem was minor flawing of the character roster. There is, honestly, no excuse for Lloyd(Tales of Symphonia)not being in there, and certain characters(Wario)really have no business being in there in the first place. The third problem is a disappointing online play. Granted, Nintendo is new to the field, but I think we can still expect better in the age of Xbox LIVE. Aside from those, however, the game is flawless. Fighting is great, and the character's move-sets are so different being good at one does not make you good at them all. This allows a specialization that gives each person a sense of familiarity with their respective characters. In addition to that, the choices don't get much better when it comes to games to play when friends are over. Multi-player is great when it isn't online. The map-maker is also a welcome addition to the series. Overall, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a must-have for all Wii-owners. It is, quite possibly, the best game available for the whole system.

Mass Effect - Xbox 360

An amazing game

This game is fantastic from start to finish. The plot is well-developed and interesting, and the game-play is nearly perfect, despite minor failures of teammate AI. The leveling system is also impressive, especially the way X-box LIVE achievements unlock extra skills. The extra ten levels allowed during the second play-through also add to replay-ability. This one will remain a favorite of mine for years to come.
