Battlefield 2142 - PC

Got Mechs?

Alright. I didnt play Battlefield 2, so I cant realy make a comparison to that.. but I did play 1942, and they seem to have kept with the same style of play. Battlefield 2142 is an epic game, and it delivers it well. I have heard of issues with performance with it, but I havent had any myself. I'm running with an x1900, 2gb of Ram, and a 3.2ghz AMD. So, I guess I'm doing okay for my computer. The gameplay is everything it should be, fast and fun. The stat trackings is always a big plus. The weapons and vehicles used are inventive and realy help the game.. Only problem I can see, is that vehicles do seem abit overpowered, but they can be stopped with a few well placed detonation packs for any sniper looking for a good way to do it ;) -Crim

Dragon Ball Z Budokai: Tenkaichi 2 - PS2

What a fighting game should be, with half naked men and pointy yellow hair.

Alright, I first have to admit that I am a fan of the DBZ series, so I'll try and keep this unbiased. I bought this game on a whim, after playing the last few DBZ games, I was abit afraid of what I spent my money on. Starting it up, I noticed the rather nice opening (Which I've seen in every Dragon Ball Z game for the PS2). I skip the tutorial, and hop straight into the Dragonball Adventure, which is a very well done thing, going back to the idea of the original Dragonball Z Budokai. You select the saga, and you play scenarios out. First thing I notice, the very well done voice overs, and the rather impressive graphics for a PS2 game. I then notice the new perspective on the game, where the camera is overlooking the shoulder. This is a great step up for the DBZ series to me. I wont go into every detail on the Dragonball Adventure, all you need to know is that it covers every single saga and mini-saga, movie, and special. It has all the characters you could ever wish to play. (I beat Vegeta with Yajirobe!). Then there is the Mortal Kombat type challenge mode, where you fight up a ladder of opponents. It's based off opponents the certain character's path you choice. You start off with Kakarot (Goku) and work you're way around to various Dragonball Z Characters. Then there is the tournament mode, which is always fun finding out which odd character you'd face. Overall, DBZ Budokai: Tenkaichi 2 is by far the best fighter I have played for the PS2, and it does great justice to the Dragonball series. -Crim
