Doom 3 - Xbox

Not the PC but playable

Sorry I've been gone awhile, but I'm back and today is the day to catch up on alot of reviews so where to begin, oh yeah Doom 3. I don't have a super high end computer at home or the money to go out and buy one so playing this one seemed to be impossible, until it came to the X- box. For all of you graphical nerds out there you have ot understand that when this game was first realeased on the PC the video card to play on optimal settings didn't even exist yet!! So there has to be some fall off in graphics when it was ported on essentially a three year old computer. That being said the Xbox version is great graphics wise the gameplay is what you expect in a first person shooter the standard shotguns, pistols, rocketlaunchers and the return of a Doom classic the CHAINSAW!!! this game is meant to be played in the dark so when enemies literally appear out of thin air you're scared out of your wits. Playing Multiplayer seems a bit werid after all of those hours on Halo 2 you guys should've heard me scream where are my shields??!! My opinion if you got a high end gaming rig or the cash to buy one go get the pc version, but if you're in a situation similar to mine then just buy the XBOX version you won't be disappointed.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening - PS2

Feel Free to Die once you've had enough!!

Last years Devil May Cry 2 seemed to be disappointing to alot of my fellow DMC fans, so much so that Capcom gave the game back to the original design team good move!! This game rocks, but you have to stick with it you'll proably die pretty early in the adventure, because of the unruly diffculty level they must've assumed that you were a master of the battle system the instant you put in the disc, because the enemies just come flying at you and the most dangerous one is where? Just off screen where you can't see him that's what really teed me off! Once you figure out the system(Or put it on Easy) the fun really takes off each battle with Vergil seems epic and the Beowulf fight on any level is challegening for all except maybe the greatest masters of the game.

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege - PS2

Time Travel gimmick better than expected

This is a perfect swan song for the onimusha series. Finally Capcom broke away from the RE style of moving your character using the left analog stick instead, but you can still used teh d-pad like in the previous titles. I was a big skeptic of the time travel gimmick, because it just seemed stupid to me. Capcom has proved me wrong they incorpated it as a gameplay element quite nice. Enemies have better AI this time working in groups or as a team sometimes makes critical flashes almost essential for survial especially in the darkrealm. The only reason that this game doesn't get a five; is as in most 3d games the camera can become an issue especially in the final boss fights of the game. These instances are far and few between bottom line if you like the other two onimusha games look forward to more of the same.

Final Fantasy X-2 - PS2

Yuna watched too many 70's TV show reruns after Sin's defeat

This game is not legendary, but as far as sequels go this is not the Final Fantasy that killed the series. New tricks this time is the New Game+ option that becomes available after you've beaten the game once. Although your levels will be reset you get to keep all the dresses that you found the first time around also you have access to the airship from the start of the game. Finally the non-linear aspect of the missions hotspots appear that help the story take shape. There are also a TON of side missions to challenge some of them become mini games on to themshelves like the gunner's gauntlet in Besaid these. Although the best mini-games were in FFVII these are FAR superior to the ones seen in FFX

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence - PS2

So This is the First Time Dracula caught a Whippin

Konami shows that Soild Snake may be the man when it comes to international espinoage, but when the vamps come a callin you need a good dose of belmont. First off the bad news there are times that I would have preferred to have full control of the camera instead of the fixed angles that you are given in this title(Case and point the Medusa Boss Fight). Sometimes the music seems alittle too based in modern techno dance to seem right for a game that features the creatures of the night. I Know that few people buy a game hoping for some great voice acting sometimes the dialog is just corny. Now that's out of the way all of the fans of SOTN will love that the castle is huge with plenty of hidden puzzles and secerts to keep the player looking to become even more powerful. Also this game has a little more story than most of its predessors had heck they even explanied how the power ups and sub-weapons got into the castle. Not to spoil too much but lets just say its well worth the $50 price tag
