Take the Decepticons by the nuts and bolts!
If you talk with anyone these days, the biggest movie of the summer is Transformers. Who doesn't love big robots? And for those desiring a little more than meets the eye, Transformers the Game is a great. But like I said, there's more than meets the eye. The transformations in this game are glorious, having the Transformers retain their unexpected agility and flexability as they change from vehicle to robot. There are few things as cool as making Optimus Prime transform from truck to robot, flipping gracefully in the process. One side note, in the loading screens where the controls are labeled, instead of "transform" the Y button is Labeled "convert". Why? After "converting" about 20 times (and being told where to go for your next mission 20 times too--annoying), you'll want to start accomplishing things. This is where the game begins to falter. Redundancies really take away from this visually awesome title. You have to blow things up sometimes, you get in trouble for it if you're an autobot. You can drive right through a wall, but you get stuck on a planter. Fighting other transformers is a cinch, and while you fight humans constantly shoot you in the back. It's easy to tell that Activision has churned this one out rather hastily. While fun to watch, the game becomes monotonous soon into the mission tree. If you can rent it for free, it's worth it!
