Resident Evil 5

This is an absolute must own game! My main complaint is that it doesn't seem like it should be titled RE5. Maybe a spinoff or something, but as a sequel in the RE lineage, the "partner system" was a downer for my experience. Having to share items and constantly pay attention to your partner is a real drag. As I remember, RE games has always been about surviving the horror ALONE. There were a couple of installments that had a partner incorporated but that was only in small doseage. That was fun, like a side game or something, but to have it in the entire game isn't really following the tradition of RE. The developers should've kept to the original formula and added the partner for online play. Other then that, an excellent game all around.

Gears of War 2 - Xbox 360

Gears of War 2

The first Gears was "fresh" with its visual and intense combat. Therefore, a lack of story telling and its short gameplay was forgivable. The second was a little disappointing though. The action and pacing is still tops and the visuals are a step above the first. However, the story telling is definitely lacking for a sequel. True the game is just a bridge to the trilogy, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be a stand-a-lone story as well. The game does feel a little longer than the first but it's still short for $60. The lack of true end boss battle is truely the downer for me. Because if the designer intended this game to be an action game with little story then they have indeed failed by having such an anticlimatic end boss. Here's hoping they get it right for the final installment.

Patapon - PSP

Patapon

Perfect fit for the PSP. This game is very unique and entertaining. The visual presentation is fitting for the game. There are only some minor annoyances that keep the game from becoming perfect. The leveling up and finding upgrades needed to be much better. The inability to pause is also a downside, but I think the developer wanted to keep the "rhythm" flowing so they made it as such. Overall a satisfying gaming experience. Must have for gamers of all genres.

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box - PS3

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box

What can I say? A must have for PS3 owners and well worth the $60 price tag. Not many games today can hold that honor.

Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command - PSP

Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command

Worms 3D made me hate playing turn-based game. I was reserved about playing this game, but after a few turns, I found it very enjoyable. The graphis were adequate and the controls were good. This is how AVP: Requiem for the PSP should've looked 3/4 perspective. A solid game for the PSP.
