Halo 3 ODST Review
Before I begin I want to remind everyone that these are my opinions. Everything that i write is from my own perspective. So if you can get over the fact that you may disagree with things that i will write, read ahead.
Alright, So the expansion to Halo 3 has Finally come out since the year or two of extreme hype. But will it live up to expectations? In my opinion, maybe. Maybe, because depending on the person playing the game, they can decide whether or not it has live up to THEIR expectations. For me, It did for a while until i actually started getting deeper into the story.
The story takes you back before the beginning of Halo 3 and you are a lost Odst roaming a city looking for clues to find your lost squad mates. Each mission you play is a flashback excluding the last mission. This to some people will turn them off right away since you really are not progressing into the story like in past Halo games. I found the free roam feature more of a gimmick. It does not need to be in there and would be better without it. Since when did halo ever need free roam? The missions themselves are pretty fun but get old quickly. How do they get old? It really isnt the fact that you do the same thing over and over, but its the fact that the variety is small but varied. Its nothing we haven't seen before, and the game will stick to that saying strongly. In the last mission, You'll have to play through a lame and unexciting rescue and escort mission. That's all I will say to not spoil anything. And i dont know about you but i was pretty pissed at the ending. All In all the story is at least 5 to 8 hours long depending how you decide to play it.
Thankfully Bungie included Fire Fight. Basically what it is a Horde / Nazi zombies game type. But it mixes it up into its own thing. While playing, Skulls will be activated to keep the gameplay feel fresh and new each round. You can play Fire Fight and The Campaign with up to 4 people locally or through Xbox Live. Without Fire fight, I dont think this game would be worth even 30 bucks. And that brings me to the next problem.
WHAT IS WITH THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE POINT? THEY WANT YOU TO PAY 60 BUCKS FOR ODST! I WOULDNT MIND IT IF IT HAD MORE CONTENT, LONGER STORY, AND A BETTER STORY. Really all you get for Odst is a short campaign, fire fight, and a multiplayer disc. I wouldnt even minded if Odst had its own take on multiplayer, with ODST weapons and Realism. It would be a nice change of pace for the halo multiplayer. BUT ALL YOU GET, IS A DISC WITH THE EXACT. SAME. CONTENT. THAT HALO 3 HAS MINUS THE STORY. But you do get 3 exclusive maps with are worth a normal map pack price.
So really, Get this game if you really know what this game is about. But I even knew what it was about and was disappointed. But overall The game has great multiplayer (no surprise since its the same stuff from halo 3) It can get very intense and edge of your seat action, and has a great Fire Fight Mode. But this is a STRONG rental first kind of game.

The first good RPG for the X-BOX 360.
Lost Odyssey was created by some of the people behind the Final Fantasy series, and you can tell right away. In fact this is how FF 12 should have been like in stead of the average game that was given to use.
There are many things to like about Lost Odyssey. First the unique premise. A Immortal whose lived a thousand years, but wakes up with no memory, and as the journey continues you slowly remember. The second thing was the difficulty of the game. I haven't played a really hard RPG in years, I enjoyed it even when it frustrated me because I kept dying, it make you enjoy the game even more when you beat the game. Third the dream sequences were good also, and emotional. Finally the music was great, I really enjoyed it.
Now on to the reasons why I only gave it a 4 stars. Some of the reasons are the same as why I liked the game. First the story was good, but takes way to long to get going. Second the dream sequences went on forever, and got tiring. Finally the load times in the game were to long and annoying. This is supposed to be a 360 game right. The load time shouldn't take to long.
Overall Lost Odyssey is a very good game, though not great. This game isn't for everyone, just RPG fans.

Simply Amazing.
I had just finished Enchanted Arms, and it was a very disappointed. So I really hoped Mass Effect would be a good game. It is a amazing game, I haven't played anything like it. It's a RPG, but also a first person shooter game. You would think it wouldn't work, but it blends the two types of games perfectly. It also lets you make decisions that effect the game. Also the attitude you have toward people effects how they react. One decision choice might get you opponent to surrender, another will have them attact you. The Sci-fi story blends themes from Star Wars, Starship Troopers, Battlestar Gallactic, and themes from many other shows perfectly creating it's own unique universe. BioWare did a amzing job with the graphics, which are unbelievable. I've seen nothing like it, it helps bring the characters to live. The game play is easy to learn, and use. The characters come to live through the story and BioWare's graphics. Finally the music is amazing it add to this perfect game. Overall this game is a masterpiece and I'm going to put it in my top 10 video games I've played.

One of the worst RPGs I've played.
I recently bought the X-BOX 360 Arcade Edition and decided to buy Enchanted Arms and Mass Effect. Enchanted Arms looked like a good RPG, though I didn't know anything about it since this was the first time I bought a X-BOX system.
I was extremely disappointed in this game. I expected a lot more. I'll go over the list of problems that I had with it. First the so called graphics weren't that great, the were even a little worse the the PS2 average RPG, and this is supposed to be the X-BOX 360. Then there is the story which didn't make any sence and wasn't interesting. Next was the game play, which was slow, and added to the boredom. Finally we have the characters, who were uninteresting
and didn't care whether they lived or died. Atsuma was the worst of them all, he got on my nerves and was annyoing, and he was the main character.
Overall one of the worst RPGs I've played with the likes of Magna Carta for the PS2. I really hope X-BOX 360 is coming out with some better RPGs in the future becasue it's my favorite type of game to play.

Not for fans who read Marvel Civil War
Overall this is a great game and highly polished. It plays just as you would expect from an Ulitimate Alliance or X-men Legends game. The leveling system is top notch, lots of options, and the best part is no penalty for switching around your experience points. All characters level up almost equally, so if you decide to try out the invisible woman, it won't hurt your leveling up of Storm but taking her out for a mission. Also you can change heroes on the fly at any time (except bosses), so the action stays are fresh and varied as you make it. It does get repetitive, the missions all seem to last a half hour or a little more.
So hows the story? It's excellent. One of the best Marvel stories in a long time. But the videogame does not capture the emotion of the characters or go into why they are at a civil war. It will mention why the war started, but it won't show the emtional turmoil of more than two characters in a quick cutscene before you choose a side. If you read the Civil War comic, expect to be dissappointed. Many heroes who chose one side or another can actually play for either side. There is no switching of sides for spiderman, it was ignored. Also you can play as several x-men (storm, wolverine, iceman, Juggernaught if you preorderd). In the comic there were no x-men when the civil war started, they stayed neutral, but here it doesn't seem to matter. Normally this wouldn't bother me, and if I hadn't actually read one comic in the last year with this being the one storyline, then I would have loved the game. As it stand its only 4 stars. Even without reading the comic, I would still not have given it 5 stars since they emotions are horribly bland in the game (so I'm not totally biased).
