A Great Way to Hit Your Friends with Blue Shells

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Annoying audio
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun

Mario Kart Wii is an excellent addition to the Mario Kart franchise. The gameplay hasn't changed much, but there are a few upgrades (and downgrades) to the way of playing the game. The Rubberband AI is what really brings the game down, and gets really annoying when trying to beat Grand Prix. There are 5 different ways of controlling in Mario Kart Wii, though by far the best schemes are the ones that use an analog stick to steer (GameCube Controller, Classic Controller, Wii Remote and Nunchuk). The graphics are bright and colourful, but the character models need work. The music is great but gets repetitive, and the voice acting is bad. Mario Kart Wii offers some of the best Online Multiplayer modes ever on the Wii, with barely any lag. Overall, this game succeeds on almost every level, but there are a few aspects of the game that really brings down the score. I give this game a 4/5.

Ahh...Mario Kart.

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun

Mario Kart has always been one of those games that Nintendo owners look forward to and for good reason but this time you can take on the world (I know the DS version had online play too). Up to 12 players racing at once anywhere in the world pretty much makes this the best online game for Wii (sorry smash bros.). I've had the game since it came out and I still have not seen any lag on an online race no matter where the other people are in the world. I personally think the Wii wheel is great. Idk why so many people have a problem with it, I think it works great and I'm glad it does otherwise I'd have a plastic wheel that wouldn't get used. My only complaint about this game is how easily you can go from 1st place to last place in a matter of seconds. It's cheap and it seems to happen on the 3rd lap. This is mostly when you're racing the computer, not so much online, although it does happen on there occasionally. Aside from the cheap A.I. and all the BS that seems to happen when you're doing really well, Mario Kart Wii is not only a great Wii title but a great installment to the Mario Kart family. Get online and race your little hearts out. Hopefully I'll see ya there. :) ;)

CASUAL GAMING CAN ALSO BE GOOD, lol

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun

IN a sense this game can be played by anyone which is good, bcus i have alot of friends who dont play and suck, so if i play with them it would be equal becuase the fair share of items. This game is really creative and intuitive. One thing is , why do reviewers say its easier to use wii wheel. ITS MUCH HARDEr well the way i use it. I use it wif 1 hand but i still get 1st place on 150cc. The game is farely challenging and has fun multiplayer and crystal online and great items. This is the best casual game ever made. I can play 4 a while and im hardcore.

ITs Mario Kart.

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun

This games is Mario Kart, and like the previous titles its great. So I got this game wondering how the Wii mote would effect the game play and its pretty good. The new levels are fun and challenging, and the Bikes weren't that bad. One complaint is that some of the Items are to powerful, but you gotta have skills to win. One thing that was great was the online. Tournaments, Ranking, why didn't Brawl have this? This was big for me and I love this game for it. And I do recommend this to wii owners.

Mario Kart Wii Review

If you're a fan of the Mario Kart series you know that it has changed a lot since it's debut on SNES. The game went from being a little too easy to the point of near frustration starting with Mario Kart Double Dash. Now winning a race can depend just as much on luck as it does skill. This all part of Nintendo's approach to the casual market. It levels the playing a bit and gives that racer sitting in 8th place with a blue shell or a Bullet Bill a chance to make a push for the top spot on the last lap. But even with this said there is no denying the pure amount of fun of the Mario Kart series and that continues with Mario Kart Wii. The game is addictive once you've mastered the Wii Wheel and you never want to go back to a standard controller once you have. There are some balance issues which I touched on slightly involving the amount of strong weapons. Bullet Bills, POW Blocks, Blue Shells, and random Storm Clouds can really effect the race. The online service is near perfect. There is no lag once a race begins and I've raced with people in Japan on many occasions. So the basic formula is still here and once you've gotten the hang of things, it will be awhile before you put this one down. Graphics are not as good as they could have been but that's mostly due to Mii integration into the game. The sounds is pretty solid even online you still hear racers screaming when there hit and the music when someone has an invicibilty star or giant mushroom. As far as conrol once you've mastered the Wii wheel there will be no turning back. Graphics: 4.0 Sound: 4.5 Control: 5.0 Fun Factor: 4.5

Mario Kart Wii

Pros Cons
Intense action
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls
Just plain fun

As expected, Mario Kart Wii is loads of fun. The online multiplayer was long overdue.

I'll start with the cons. The graphics in MKW are very disappointing. Look at games like Galaxy and SSBB, and then check out the MKW character selection screen; Mario hasn't had a square nose since the SNES days. Some of the powerups seem way to powerful and unnecessary.

Now the pros...ITS FREAKIN' MARIO KART, DUDE!!! Its endless fun. One of my favorite features is the retro stage collection from the SNES, N64, GC, GBA and DS. Another favorite would be the online multiplayer; very simple, fast and lag free. The Wii stages are a lot of fun and very creative (except the new Luigi's Circuit).

In conclusion, buy this game...ITS MARIO KART!!!

Death by blue shell

In typical Nintendo fashion, Mario Kart Wii is very new gamer friendly. A person completely new to the series could win a race, while a hardcore fan could come in dead last. Even so, Mario Kart Wii is one of the most enjoyable racing games out there. Like SSBB, MKW offers many different control options, including the Wii Wheel. The Wii Wheel is a little hard to get used to and I don't like its steering, so I prefer to use the GameCube controller (too bad if you don't have one). One large problem with MKW is the items. I'm an experienced Mario Kart player and I'm usually in first, so I'm blasted with a blue shell nearly every race. Damn I hate those things. I say that if Nintendo decides to make another Mario Kart game we protest outside of Nintendo's U.S. headquarters for them to remove the blue shells. The graphics aren't great but are good enough. The best part, though, is the online. MKW's online crushes SSBB's online into a gooey pulp. Basically, I think Mario Kart Wii is great for almost anyone (I said almost).

Aside from everyone saying, and it really is, kinda the same thing as you would expect, this game is really fun. High replay value as always, and the small things are the most fun. The subtlties in the levels make it much more. The Wii Wheel is ehh, I guess an addition but still a great game. Total camp value, and the 480p graphics push the envelope, even if it is only 480p =>

Awesome Game

One of the best games for Nintendo is Mario Kart and once I heard there was one coming out for the wii I got it right away. The online gameplay is pretty good for this wii game unlike most others. Nintendo has also added alot of new items and stages but have kept the originals like rainbow road and the red shell.

Where's the shells?

This is one of the most fun games I have ever played, exept two things.1. The green shells will get destroyed after a few bounces off a wall. The N64 versian makes the green sheels only get destroyed when hitting a kart. And it doesn't have the block tower battle place where me and my friend unleash green shell Hell!
