NHL 08 is deffinatly the best NHL game i have ever played.Like usually in NHL games it is just score score score you win 25-0 its fun but gets boring. But NHL 08 is fun and much more challenging much more close of a game like 3-2 much funner. The controls are hard to get use to if you are new to NHL games but once you get the hang of them they are really easy and overall way more fun to handle. The graphics are very good but still the crowd can be a little more sharper.I love the shootout mode it is the best i have ever seen in a NHL game. The game is just really amazing. If you like NHL games pick this one up dont miss it.

You know 2k sports is going down the tubes when they pulled a maddden and made nhl 2k8 a roster update with copied controls from NHL 07. The Boys at EA in vancouver finally made a hockey sim but still added the fun on EA hockeys past. The first thing you will realize is how much better the A.I. is and how it adjusts to your cameplay. I learned this when i tried to deke out a defender and unlike in NHL 07 where you get bumped and keep going this time I got layed out. Likewise making big hits takes alot of timing and If you play defense like me in real life you will be able to adjust a little quicker but it will still be tough to protect the pipes. I was pumped when I saw the AHL teams actually playable in this game including my homestate hartford wolf pack and my favorite NHL minor league team the philadelphia phamtoms. 2k usually gives you alot of custimization but 2k customization is not even close to NHL 08's RPG like options. You can change your helmet, skates, skate radius(blade placement, gloves, stick flex, curve, brand and tape color. All these things are risk and reward like one stick curve might give you a sick slapshot but a bad backhand. You can test this with and player on your team and edit the gear they wear and created players wear. While in edit mode you can do drills to test stick skates and see how you look in a RBK helmet vs a Bauer helmet. If you want fun, simulation, custimization, and Computers that act like people and constantly adjust in real time I think you should get NHL 08.
