Now, this makes people want Infinity Ward want to make the next COD. The multiplayer is awesome, but the story is bleak. Here's story...
Go through training, kill people, go to checkpoint, kill people, almost die, beat game.
But that doesn't make the game not rock!

The braintrust at Infinity Ward really outdid themselves this time, by creating one of the finest online war/shooter games in history. Call of Duty 4 is everything a fan of the war gaming franchises could ever dream of, with many wonderful concepts and content. With an epic multiplayer mode that never seems to become boring, an amazing story mode, a huge number of weapons, and the ability to create your own custom classes, this game can do no wrong. The only thing wrong with this game is the story mode, that sometimes can be boring. Other than that, this game should be enshrined in a Gaming Hall Of Fame for all future generations to see.

Pros: Amazing online multiplayer modes, epic story, great arcade mode, and most complete shooter EVER made.

Cons: Somewhat confusing story mode, the n00bs that team kill online, some frustrating points in story mode.

Superb Multiplayer action, a great single-player campaign storyline, authentic weapons, and great control schematic make this (in my opinion) the absolute best game on PS3 to date.

The only thing I would improve on would be to add more maps and weapons, and make your character more customizable.

There is nothing else that does it for me than a good Fps, trailing through different terrains taking out anyone that gets in your way. Call of Duty 4 is one of the best FPS I have ever played with hours Of game play and multiplayer packed all in one disc. After i completed the Intense Single player i was onto multiplayer raking up levels like no tomorrow showing what i can really do. The game is very addictive and is recomended for anyone who loves to game in the FPS world 10/10!

modern warfare has it ups and down but in the end it a great fps game with intense online play. to start off the story. for people who likes really intense story. this is not for you. sure the story it fast and the visual is really nice. but 8 hours!! that is just not enough for hardcore cod fans. the controls is really tight all you have to do is aim and shoot. it that easy!. the online play is the best online game ever. the level up system is fresh and awesome! the guns and attachment are creative and fun! the maps for cod4 are really nice.

I've played quite a few first person shooter games, and this one is by far the best I've ever played. The story mode is amazing, as is the multiplayer, which in my opinion is better than Halo's. Get this now if you haven't

well i positvly loved it i never played cod series (i wasnt into shooters back then)when i played this one i was happy i couldnt put down the controller it had great multiplayer cool campaign they really did a good job with modern warfare (didnt mean to put inoviate concept)

This game right here is by far the best online multiplayer shooter in the market today. The graphics are superb in both campaign and multiplayer. Everybody plays it, everybody loves it and enjoys it. The perks make it fun all the time because the advantage each one gets. Can't forget about the ranking system. It's awesome! The leveling up thing makes it more addicting. There are tons of game types. Search and Destroy is my favorite. Oh and customization! You have a lot of options that you can put in a gun. An ACOG Scope, silencer, red dot sight, or grenade launcher. You can also decorate the gun with camo colors which i find pretty neat. Overall, this game is awesome as hell.

The only pet peeves i have about this game is the shortness of the single player campaign. It's very fun and all but it's too short but like what everybody else, the multiplayer makes up for it so it's all good at the end of the day. Another thing i don't like about CoD 4 are the servers. The servers aren't very good. When you play CoD 4 expect to see lag, 'Connection Interrupted', and 'Downloading Game Settings' and 'Host Ended Game' which is pretty lame but doesn't occur often so don't pee in your pants now!

I wont bother running through all that is good about this game i'll just make a plea on the one downside and thats the short single player game, just a bit longer for the next one please!!

The setting: Middle East. Time: noonish. Armed with a sub-machine gun you sprint towards the nearest dumpster for cover and crouch. You do not know exactly where the enemy may appear but one thing is for certain...it is better to be behind the cover of a dumpster than to be parading in plain sight. You look down the barrel of your gun taking aiming with the attached red-dot sight. No one in front of you...yet. You veer a little outside cover to take aim on your left. Two bullets whiz over your head. You go back behind the dumpster. Your position has been compromised. There are few tactics left, you can either run cover or you stay and fight. The first option involves running through the middle of a wide-open plaza...which would make you a perfect target for waiting snipers. The second option may place you in a life or death situation with your unknown attacker. You choose option two. You re-load your weapon to make sure you don't run out of bullets during the impending gun-fight. Your assailant fires five more rounds at the dumpster. Four jump off and pass over your head. One hits you in the shoulder. You're hurt. From the sounds of the bullets it sounds that he's using an M-4 assault rifle. You hear his footsteps ever closer. Now's the time. You throw one of your flash grenades near the sound of approaching footsteps and brace for explosion. A small bang signals that the explosive went off. Your assailant starts shooting wildly but nowhere near your direction. He's disoriented. You come out of cover face to face with your attacker and unload 6 rounds on his body until he falls flat on the ground. You're triumphant...that is until a sniper shot hits you on the head. "Dammit!!! Now I have to re-spawn".

I've just described the exhilarating multiplayer experience of CoD4. The game is fast and furious and entertaining. It presents the grim and gruesome modern day warfare. The developers were extra careful in creating the multiplayer levels of the game. There is no absolute advantage point...each corner can be entered and compromised by the enemy. The level of detailing and balance in the game is astounding. The graphics are beautiful. War has never looked this good. The controls are tight and responsive (no matter if you choose the Xbox or PS3 version). This game definitely is a masterpice. Do yourself a favor and play it.
