I love this game so much! First, it's just plain fun and addictive, with insane 4-8 player zombie killing action! It also has AMAZING A.I. (some might say a little too amazing) ,and very tight controls! The only downside is it's lack of some content, but I'm sure Xbox Live will have more and more downloads for it.

Lets start out with the basics. Left 4 dead was a highly anticipated game from the creators of half life. It did great and was alot of fun. But every game has problems. For one. The storyline is basically, your a group of 4 survivors (Hence the name left 4 dead), now go blow up some zombies! The characters are more average people then other zombie games which is (i guess) an upside. Resident evils bigger than life people made the game less realistic than it could have been, and Dead rising's Frank west, i believe, was photographer that dosnt fit in with the game all that well. But the gameplay gets repetitive after a while and eventually dies down into the stack of games that you havnt played in months. Another downside is the fact that they give certain audio whenever a "Special" type of zombie is around. Completely eliminating the surprise of a zombie popping out of nowhere. And the worst thing, ONLINE PLAY SUCKS!!!! 4 people are survivors, as many as you want are zombies, and voice is disabled so you cant communicate. Another downfall of the game is the fact that the place that your fighting zombies in is dark the whole time, and it makes it tough to see the zombies. Overall, the time that you play it that doesnt get boring is a thrill ride and doent stop until the boring stop at the station. You get off, and forget you were on the ride.

Left 4 dead...left 4 dead...left 4 dead. No im not copying Sid Shuman but left 4 dead was all that i could think about after playing it. This game is great at keeping you busy and great at keeping the fun up. The gameplay is simply amazing! When your handed a pistol or shotgun or machine gun or any other gun that the game has the first thought in your head is...let's go kill some zombie bastards. The game shines in almost every way accept for the story but that's only a minor inconsistency considering the game is just so much damn fun. Let's start off with the character's, you play as one of four lead characters. You can choose to play as either Bill, Louis, Francis or Zoey. None of which are terribly interesting but they all have some level of interest that will really narrow down your pick in character's my favorite character is francis. The attention to detail in the game is awsome. For example if you set off a car alarm zombie's are going to rush to your location and "swarm" you. The amount of zombies on screen is also quite awsome (think a little bit less than dead rising). The graphics are also great. I don't want to spoil the enemies for you so i'll only list three 1. THE SMOKER: The smoker is a zombie that seems to have had a recent nikoteen addiction which results in it consantly coughing. another cool feature about the smoker is that it has a gene simmons like tongue that grabs you and pulls you to your demise. 2. THE BOOMER: This morbidly obese monstosity spuse out a green liquid that attracts other zombie's to your location. You also better watch out incase the boomer explodes causing huge damage. 3. THE WITCH: The wich is a woman zombie who usually sit's in dark places waiting for unexpecting prey. She let's out a deafening cry that warns you of her presence. If you wonder to close to this zombie she will jump out and attack you leaving devistating damage to your health (and your pride). Well that about sum's up left 4 dead. It may not be my favorite game ever but it's defidently one of my favorites. So go out there and try not to get yourself left 4 dead in the harsh street's of this videogame.

If you have a 360, you are blessed. Because Valve made L4D!!!! I love this game. Everything is f**kin' thing about this is AWESOME except for low content and awful al partners. They are annoying as hell. Otherwise, one my faves for XBOX. - wuff

this is a game that will blow your mind there is only one con and that is poor storytelling but even that cant ruin such a awesome game

So much fun to play online with friends. The campaign is fun but versus mode is where it's at. Now that the survival pack is out all campaigns are available on versus which is great because it was getting kind of boring playing No Mercy and Blood Harvest. Survival mode is ok but it's pretty hard to last any longer than 5 minutes, to me it just doesn't last long enough and it's not worth playing for a few minutes and then just dying. If it was like Horde mode on Gears 2 or even Nazi Zombies on Call of Duty: WaW it would be a lot more fun to have it go by rounds instead of a time limit. Weapons are basic nothing special, auto shotgun is easily my favorite. The campaigns are only 5 chapters each but since the Zombies don't respawn in the same spot every time it keeps you on your toes. Versus mode is where you're going to spend most of your time playing. Death toll and No Mercy are my two favorites and I like being the smoker personally. Online play is where it's at though, split screen is nice to have and there is basically no single player, you need friends this is not a game you play by yourself. It does get repetitive at times, it's not a game you play for like a month straight just once in a while but when you and your friends do play it it is a blast. We need new campaigns, Valve. Please :) Get a bunch of your friends on live, buy Left 4 Dead, and have a brain salad.

real cool gore and I really liked that its never exactly the same as the last time before only thing I could complain about was there was only 4 campaighns and they should have had more story telling at the end of each safe house maybe to enhance the knowledge of the characters back rounds. All in all I cant wait to see part 2.

All right, so I picked this up out of a need to sate my hunger for new games. I'm saving up for the ION Drum Rocker, and I haven't played anything new in a long time. But when I picked this up, and started playing it, I knew it would be great.

During the "crescendo" events, you press a button, call for an elevator, or something else that makes a lot of motion or noise. Thus, hordes of "infected" come flying at you, including special infected: Hunters, that jump on you and leave you pinned and helpless while ripping out your intestines; Boomers, fat zombies that vomit on you (and that bile attracts the horde) and, when they are killed, cover anything within five feet of them with bile; Smokers, constantly-coughing zombies that lash out with their tongues and drag you away from your teammates; and finally, for the last special infected that actively seeks you out, there is the Tank, a behemoth reminiscent of a zombiefyed Hulk that swats you aside like flies. These crescendo events provide an intensity not seen in many games today, but even when you're just walking around, it's freaky.

For the last special infected, there is the Witch. You are alerted to her presence by a special kind of music and the sounds of constant sobs. Turn off your flashlight and be careful with your aim, because although the Witch looks like an innocent little girl (albeit with glowing eyes), she is deadly in her own right. Disturb her, and you WILL be incapacitated.

"So," you might say, "wouldn't that eventually get boring?" Perhaps, but what if each level changed every time you played it, based on factors like your accuracy, health, etc.? For there is an AI "Director" that determines where to place zombies and what types of special infected to throw at you. Whereas you found a Witch hiding in a closet the last time you played this level, she might not even be present if you're sucking. However, if you are bombing through a level with no problem, watch out: a Tank/Hunter combo will be waiting for you around the next bend. Players can never truly get cocky, because yes, you owned that Hunter no problem, but you sure won't last long when a Smoker constricts you and a Boomer vomits on you (true story).

All this combines to make an intense, fast-paced, and even sometimes funny (Zoey's quips are priceless) gem of a game that all 360 gamers need to pick up immediately. SO GO BUY IT!
