Not another Red Steel

If you are thinking this is another Red Steel your wrong. The control scheme is a bit confusing at first, but by the time you reach the first save point, its second nature.I recomend all gamers get this.

Words don't do this game justice.

Never in all my years of gaming have I played a game that I enjoyed more than Resident Evil 4. This title retains all the goodies of the PS2 version, so to those who have played that edition will find motion sensing the only new thing, while those who have only played the GC title will find motion sensing in addition to the Separate Ways missions, the Plagas Removal Laser, and the unlockable mob outfit for Leon and suit of armor for Ashley. Yes, the lack of new content is disappointing, but at least the discounted price of $30 helps ease that pain. The controls are excellent, but whether or not they are worth it to purchase the game again is debatable. Over the years of this game's release the graphics has lost that "holy crap, this game is gorgeous" factor, yet the graphics are not bad. Not by a long shot. The graphics look just a tad bit better than that of the GC version, but I doubt that it is noticeable to most. The audio for this game is dark and moody fitting the setting of this game. While most games that use the Wii remote's speaker have had horrible results, I find the sound of bullets firing coming out of the Wii-mote's speaker quite enjoyable. For those of you who are not familiar with the story it goes something like this: You go to Europe and are ordered to find the president's daughter. Find her and shortly after thta, you lose her and then you've got to find her again. Repeat until game is finished. Sure the story is a bit predictable and mundane, but playing through it sure is a hell of alot of fun. No matter how many times I have beaten RE4 (around 15 times), I never once have gotten bored with it since the enemy A.I. gives me a big challenge every time, the levels are a blast, the pacing is excellent, the interactive cutscenes keep me on the edge of my seat, and because the game is just plain thrilling. I cannot recommend this game enough because you really have to play it to believe it. There is no such thing as a perfect game, but Resident Evil 4 is as close as any game will ever get.

Great but the excitement has worn off

When the Wii was first announced, I began to think about all of the games that will be remade for it, and RE4 actually came to mind, but I never thought I would would actually see a remake. So when RE4 was announced for the Wii, I was estatic (I'm a huge Resident Evil fan) But sadly, I was disapointed. I had my hopes up for several things, namely being additional levels or bonus content and even better, an online Mercenary vs. mode. Sadly, neihter made it into the game. The game is essentually the love child of RE4 on the gamecube and RE4 on the PS2. It the slightly improved graphics from the camecube version of the game, with the bonus content of the PS2 version. So the big question though, as is with most Wii tiles, is how do the controls work? For aiming, you hold down the B button to pull out your weapon and you use A to shoot and you point your Wiimote to aim. Simple right? And it is. The other real use for the Wiimote is the knife combat. You swing your wiimote to attack with your knife and it's as simple as can be. But it doesn't always work well. When playing, the knife combat can be twitchy and can throw off your aim when you accidently pull out your knife due to sensitive controls. The overal game though, is still a blast to play, although more work could have been put into it. If you haven't played the game before, and you own a Wii, go pick a copy up right away, but only if because it's RE4.

an amazing game

I have to say before i start i have never played any resident evil game before. ok i started playig this game i think the graphics are relly good compared to other wii games. the aiming is much much better then red steal. like the upgradeing in the game. i never know that the game had that in it. the only thing i didn't like was the fact you you had to push b and then a to shoot. so i give it a 5 out of 5 because it is amazing!

everyone with a wii run to your nearest gaming store and BUY THIS GAME!

who cares about the content and the graphics what you really have to focus on is the gameplay,it ROCKS! the motion sensing highly adds to the experience. on my first round through the game i never missed a shot and my final hit ratio was 100%. the motion sensing also makes the blue medallion and shooting range mini-games a lot easier too. even though im a little disappointed on lack of new content the Wii edition does include a trailer for Resident Evil: Umbrella Cronicles, the newest Resident Evil exclusively for the Wii console. so everyone with a Wii run to your nearest gaming store and BUY THIS GAME!!!!

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 is like Michael Meyers or Jason Vorhees the classic horror villain who just wont die. Right when you think its finally safe to turn your back and focus on your next quest for survival, it pieces its shattered skull back together, grabs a pitchfork, and continues its blind quest to hunt you down. But unlike the clichd slasher stars of the 80s, this is one zombie were not tired of seeing brought back to life. Over two years after its initial release, Resident Evil 4 is still the benchmark in the survival horror genre. For those of you who missed the boat, heres the recap: The game picks up six years after the resolution of Resident Evil 2 and 3. The U.S. government has successfully shut down the Umbrella Corporation, and brash young Raccoon City cop Leon Kennedy has taken a job with the Secret Service. When the Presidents daughter is abducted, Leon travels to a remote European village to investigate her last known whereabouts. There he stumbles upon a village where the population, known as Los Ganados, is governed by a parasite that takes over their bodies, making them act like zombies equipped with smarts and motor functions. In addition to the standard plot, Wii gamers can play through the Separate Ways storyline introduced in the PS2 version featuring the bodacious secret agent Ada Wong. Now to the question everyone is asking: How are the Wii controls? For the most part, the transition from a standard scheme to the motion-sensing controls is successful. Players will navigate using the analog stick on the nunchuk and aim with the remote while holding in the B button. The one hiccup in the controls is the aiming. You cannot scroll the screen by moving the reticle to the edge of the screen like with most gun-based games on the Wii. Instead, you must use the nunchuk to re-navigate the screen. The result is a rather clumsy scheme that can get you in trouble when Los Ganados are hunting you from more than one direction. Perhaps because of this problem, I noticed the boss fights were toned down in difficulty compared to the previous versions. As improved as the Resident Evil 4 controls were compared to the tank-like schemes of its predecessors, they still arent ideal. The final version of the game would have been the perfect time for Capcom to polish the controls with new features that nearly every game now takes for granted like strafing and being able to shoot your gun while moving. Unfortunately, Leon still isnt capable of performing these basic moves. Minor complaints aside, Resident Evil 4 still stands as a must-play game for anyone who hasnt done so already. It will only cost you $30, so what are you waiting for?

A must have for Wii players

With the new control scheme, RE4 plays like never before. It took a while to become comfortable with it, but it easily became enjoyable once i did. With all the content of the PS2 version, you won't miss out on anything. The graphics are still pretty amazing considering they're last gen. I picked it up the moment it released, and i have no regrets. Awesome!
