Totally worth your money

This is definitly one of the best collections of games you can buy for 60 bucks. It cool that if you haven't played Half-Life 2 game you can catch up and then finish the series with Half-Life 2 Episode one & two. You also get a game call Portal and Team Fortress 2. All these games are awesome and it amazing that for 60 bucks you get 5 amazing games.

An Offer You Cant Refuse

The Orange Box is possibly the greatest deal in a video game. It comes with 5 different games all on 1 disc. It comes with Half Life 2 which is getting older but still amazing. It also comes with Episode 1 and the newly realesed Episode 2 which are great additions to the Half Life collection. Then we have Portal one of the most creative games ever. It is amazingly additive and will have you loving it one moment and getting mad at the puzzels the next. Last but not least is Team Fortess 2. Its an online only FPS with multiply classed and 6 maps. It is one of the years best multiplayer games and is over just one. The grpahics are different than any other game because it looks like a Pixar movie. Overall The Orange Box is a amazing deal for any game lover.

the orange box is a deal you can't refuse

considering that the orange box contains 5 games and only costs the price of 1 game it's a deal too good to pass up considering how fun all 5 games. if you don't already know the orange box contains half life 2, half life 2:episode one and new content such as half life 2:episode two, team fortress 2, and portal. the half life stuff is great especially because you can find out what happens next in the half life saga with the new half life 2:episode 2. with that said of all the content on the disc the 2 games you'll be playing the most are the other 2 new games, portal and team fortress 2. team fortress 2 is a multiplayer only fps which only has 6 maps to play on but it's so fun that once you get into it you learn to not care about the lack of playable maps. also each map has it's own match type. so, for instance one map may be a capture the flag map or another might be a team death match map, so play whichever match type that fits your tastes best. once you start a match you can choose from a variety of class types with 3 classes in 3 different categories. there's the offensive category which has the scout, the solider, and the pyro. there are 2 other categories that i don't have time for but just know that there isn't any one best class so you won't see people playing only as one class. the reason for this is because each class has their own amount of health and their own set of weapons. for instance the heavy class has a larger amount of health than most classes and can deal a great amount of damage with it's chain gun but at the cost of being slower than most of the other classes and even the chain gun takes a second before it starts to fire so if you take to long you can be left open to attacks by classes that can move a lot faster. because there is no perfect class you should just play as the classes that fit your play style best. the other new game on the orange box that you'll be playing a whole lot of is portal. portal is one of the most innovative games i've played in awhile. it's technically an fps but is also a puzzle game at the same time. you get to use this awesome portal gun which like the name implies creates portals and you have to create portals to get past various obstacles such as creating a portal in a certain place that allows you to get across a large gap in the floor leading to your next destination that's to big to jump over and as the game progresses the obstacles become a lot more complex and fun at the same time. however portal is really short, like only a few hours long and if you don't use your brain the right way during harder puzzles it can get kinda frustrating but is still a blast to play even once you beat it. the orange box is definitely a great deal and gives you a lot of bang for your buck

Orange box single player review.

HALF LIFE 2: awesome game with good graphics and excellent physics, the physics are the star of the game along with the great story, the physics make combat really fun. Controls are great and sounds too, there are even some areas where it echoes realistically. As i said the story is amazing, and makes you get to the episode as fast as possible. There is a horror like segment in the game (Ravenholm) where you will be scared a few times but then the game resumes normally. The combat is great and there are areas in the game where you will be really in some COD intensity with striders shooting explosions great stuff. Also the puzzles are intelligent and realistic. The dissapointing part is that after you finish it you may or may not wanna play it again, really varies from person to person, myself i play it again after a few months. EPISODE one: a little on the short side but fun and really reveals a lot of the great story. The graphics get noticeably better judging from the character models. Also the sound rocks as always. A great play experience. EPISODE 2: this one is the star of the package, great gameplay and there is a part when you see some crazy stuff like striders destroying whole buildings near the end, GREAT stuff, the sound as always great and the graphics get a little bit better, the story reaches great intensity( i won't spoil anything but trust me you'll be wishing for the continuation) the only dissapointing part would be the end of episode 2 cause as i said you are going to go crazy wishing for a sequel and probably LAST half life game. PORTAL: this is was an interesting game, it would have not fared as good as it did if it didn't come packaged with the orange box, but it's a great game in it's own right, it's basically a puzzle game, suprisingly a fun one, you'll think a lot thinking how to get to your goal and you'll probably be amazed at how your mind will probably bend, a lot of times i heard myself saying' ohhhh niceeeee one' at how i solved the puzzle and a LOT of times the nostalgic 'Oh' will be heard as you figure out a way to solve a puzzle. The endgame is great makes you wish for a continuation of sorts, the game's also kind of funny by the comments the computer makes, and the credits song is super funny i found myself laughing out loud. Definitely buy this game you'll love it.

why not?

Wow, this game(games) are str8 up the best deal you will EVER find. The half-life games alone make this a great deal. This was my first expeirence with half-life 2 and it is the best fps single player game out there. It relies upon a tried and true physics engine to enthrall you into a deep game that require you to put that physics engine to the test in order to pass some of the sequences. The graphics are a little dated but still this game manages to look better than most of the games we see coming out today. The control is standard fps with the ability to jump. I spent much time just looking around and seeing what I could stack up to get to a high ledge to explore the huge environment even more so. This game will deliver and I suggest every one who is a fan of fps pick this up. Team Fortress is a fun fps multi player when I could get it to run well and Portal is a game that does things not seen yet in gaming and while short, is a very satisfying expeirence that everyone should check out. The achievements are at an astounding 1000 pts total and will keep you busy long after beating the game several times through just to see the memorable story take place again.

5 for $60!?

The Orange Box is amazing. Half-Life 2, HF2 epi. 1 and epi. 2 have stunning visuals that will want you begging for more. The characters reactions and faces make the game even more better. Half-Life 2 takes off right where Half-Life ended and is worth 15 to 16 hours of gameplay. HF2: epi. 1 focuses more on teamwork and is worth around 4 hours of gameplay. HF2: epi. 2 is focused more on the Gravity Gun and being in a vehicle most of the game, it too is also worth about 4 hours of gameplay. Portal is a amazing mind game with a creepy twist. It will be one of the best action/mind game you'll ever play, and it's just an extra in The Orange Box! Your a test subject at Aprature Science and your given a Portal "gun". Your constantly being watched and monitered by funny sounding computer thing, GlaDOS. Team Fortress 2 makes it's way onto The Orange Box with a bang. Like any sequel, people aren't sure if it will be awesome, or a shame. Team Fortress 2 extends the meaning "awesome sequel". Pick your class, and head online! The only tiny problem is that the levels can be repetitive for a serious gamer. Overall, The Orange Box is a buy for HF fans everywhere. Even if you've never played HF, you'll be fine buying this. The Orange Box will have you saying "5 for $60!?".

Great game and value

Portal alone is worth the money for this game. The other games are good, graphics are an improvement on the original and game play is enjoyable. The game itself doesn't knock my socks off like many of the other games that are out for the system, but the value in having so many games for the price make this a very high value game. Team Fortress is the weakest of the bunch, but I applaud the effort in putting so many games on one disk.
