A full representation of New your city, just waiting to be explored, Oooooo, how fun this would be. As I play the role of spiderman, i really do enjoy the feeling of swinging around, the speed of launching off web after web.
While exploring around however, there was frequent pop-in textures going on in front of me. There are many cars lining the streets, as opposed to the small amount of pedestrians walking around, but there isn`t that much life to this city, because no one ever seems to really notice you around here, even if you ARE the city`s heroic icon. There were times where, i`d just be looking around, and people or cars would just disappear, now isn`t that a glitch. Character models are pretty ugly and not well done, it really is an eyesore to watch.
The audio is pretty good in this game, despite the fact that the same spoken lines are repeated a bunch of times. Many of the movie actors, if not all, are playing their respective roles in the game, which is a real treat to hear.
Now, while playing the game, there isn`t really a straight campaign to speak of, rather, the game is split up into missions that represent the campaign, and seeing how this is the main part of the game, it doesn`t take that long to finish.
Finish a mission, swing around the city a bit, accept another misson, repeat. Not a bad thing, but pretty linear. In combat, light attacks are mapped to the x button, heavy attacks are mapped to the y button, and web based attacks are mapped to the b button. So, although the combat never really crosses the line into a button masher, it never really seems like you know what moves your doing. Because you have to battle countless amounts of enemies, Spiderman has his special reflex meter, AKA spidey-sense, to slow down time, giving you an advantage to counter and avoid moves. The A.I isn`t that good, even if they do all target you, sometimes your enemies will be running into walls, or running back to you for a pummeling. I had some issues with the enemies that were on a higher level than your average thug, because, they seemed to have some sort of way to replicate the spider sense reflex that spiderman has, causing unwanted deaths in major fights because none of your attacks were connecting in an unrealisitic way. Also, glitches and bugs were abound in this game, be it your enemies stuck in walls, your game suddenly just freezing up because of a crash bug, or, in a mission that i went through, actually crawling outside of the level, into a big black space, and seeing the level behind you resembling an island.
All in all, despite my many quibbles, i still seemed to have a decent time swinging around the city, beating all the gangs, and playing as spiderman.
GamePro has it right. IGN sucks, and I agree with GamePro.

IGN actually had the nerve to give this awesome game a 6 out of 10. As someone else said, "You can't spell ignorance without IGN," and they were so right. GamePro at least rated this respectably, although I am rating it .5 higher. Aside from some pedestrian/car woes and minor camera-and-framerate-related issues, this is an incredible game. They finally nailed the swinging, and the city looks amazing. More cars crowd the streets than ever before, and the number of pedestrians has also been noticeably increased. However, this has come at the price of some reality. I wasn't focusing too much on the pedestrians in my recent battle with the New Goblin, but I think I saw several walking by as though nothing was happening. Something similar was happenning with the cars. This is, unfortunately, a downgrade from the prequel. I tried punching one civilian recently, and he jerked out of the way and continued on. Wow. However, this can result in rather amusing, if inconvenience-causing, situations. Twice in a row (in the Black Suit, no less) I was run over by a gray car and flipped six times (three for each hit) onto the pavement. Finally I mashed the A button and manage to swing away. Phew! The boss battles, the way I see them, are exciting and challenging. Also, the ability to switch to the Black Suit and swing through all the missions again with the suit on is awesome. Above all, buy this game. It's worth it.
Just another average game

This is just another ok Spider-Man game. The timed button sequence is a nice addition but after a while it gets old. The free roaming is fine but after a while everthing just gets old. At first the game is fun but eventually you'll getbored and move onto the next game.
another failed spider-man game

you'd think that activision would get the picture and stop cramming in all of those villains. while sometimes enjoyable, the camera, long boss batlles, and utterly crappy storyline take away from an otherwise descent game. the maddening side missions from the second game are gone being replaced by crime meter missions. these aren't a big step in the right direction being that all you do is chase them in a car and beat them up or just plain beat them up. the long bank robbery type missions are either too easy or, i can't believe i'm saying this, too difficult. there are good feature in the game though, the web swinging is as great as ever and swinging through manhattan is marvelous. but there just not enough to deserve a higher ranking
Treyarch success!

I've always been a fan of the Spiderman games. From the original for the SNES. The PS1 versions, and all of the recent 'sandbox' titles. But with Spiderman 3- it all combines into a wonderfully fun game. What I like most of all is that they've combined all of the best elements of the previous games to advance the experience. They pulled the 'speed' button from Spiderman 2 (great innovation). They pulled the 'double jump' from Ultimate Spiderman. And they assembled the most versatile line-up of bosses from all of the games. The environment is as beautiful as it's ever been. Swinging feels as natural as could be. The wall-crawler looks great and reacts great to things that happen to him. I once web-zipped directly into a building and Spidey actually went splat! and fell down all 36 stories. However, a few things the game could of done better; the black suit controls. As much fun as it was to have the extra speed, power and rage of the black suit- it also became a problem when trying to focus on a certain enemy. But even so, the combat system flowed smoothly enough. Although short, and slightly flawed, it's still a blast to use your imagination and swing around hours after completing the game. Web in a copy. You shant be dissapointed.
pretty good

the game was pretty fun. i love swinging through the city. the only thing is that there doesn't seem to be any texture to anything until you get a few inches away from it.

Based on Sony Pictures Entertainment's Columbia Pictures' upcoming feature film, Spider-Man 3" lets you experience the actions of heroic red-suited Spider-Man and, for the first time ever, his darker, more mysterious black-suited persona. Set in a larger, dynamic, free-roaming New York City, the game gives you the freedom to choose your own gameplay experience through multiple movie-based and original storylines, fully integrated city missions, and performance rewards including improved speed, combat maneuvers, and agility. Draw upon Spider-Man's completely revamped combat abilities to protect the city and defeat nemeses using expanded aerial fighting, finishing moves, and dynamic webbing during missions and epic boss battles.

Spiderman 3 the game is great. My opinion is that it migh be the best Spiderman game ever. It's graphics are fantastic, the story is alright, but I have to say the best element of the game is the transition from red/blue suit to black. The game is pretty close to the movie. The movie was preety good but it did'nt follow the comics very well.So read my review.
Go see the movie, leave the game alone

This is the worst spiderman game yet, it has moderately good graphics on XBOX 360 and PS3. It's only fun for the first few hours. It's very repetitive. The boss battles are just plain annoying. It alsost seems to be a port of SM 2. The only reason to play this game is if you have a PS3 and want to rent the special edition. Green goblin missions are kinda cool. I'd rent it though, definitely not worth owning.
