simply awsome

SPM is a great addition to anyone's Wii collection. It continues Paper Mario's hilariousness, and still manages to be a fun (and sometimes very challenging)game. Not to spoil anything, but the different charecter power's, combined with the pixel's make some crazy times. Though there are a few serious moments (few) the lines make the game even more fun, such as a geeky lizard who likes buuterflys to a totally chilled out bomb, the story is great and the gameplay addictive. In other words, if you like Mario, or just want a good game, get this.

Old school meets Next Generation

Mario has been one of the most beloved characters to ever grace a console and his lifespan has lasted more than a lot of people. With his debut on the NES and uncanny multitudes of games on the SNES (Mario RPG anyone?) he has lead the industry in fun, and innovation. To this day, Mario 64 is still a sight to behold. A masterpiece in the eye of the beholder. So, across are now 5th gaming system how can we possibly reinvent mario all over again? The answer is simply absurd an mind boggling! For starters, this game defies the laws of gaming all together. It's a 2D adventure, wait, make that 3D adventure that changes to 2D back to 3D with the click of a button? The answer to this formula is......YES!! This has to be, hands down the most innovative game I have EVER com across in my 20+ years of gaming! You are immersed in a world that looks very similar to the world you remember as supermario world, but it's been enhanced a bit. You now collect Pixls to help you along you way, giving you abilities as simple as to pickup and throw objects, to using your wii mote to discover secret doors, to completely changing the game from a 2D adventure, to a 3D powerhouse! The lack of creativity has been held back, as this game takes elements from every genre as well! For instance, you gain health by eating mushrooms now, you gain experience and strong abilities with each enemy you kill (RPG style) and by switching between 3D and 2D worlds, you can get through just about any scenario with the click of a button. In 3D mode, you find hidden game cards, that help you fight different types of creatures you encounter in the game. For example, Koopa Troopas normally take two hits to kill, but after finding and game card, they only take one. Although the graphics are not top knotch, I have to say that this game is so addictive well plotted that you don't care how it looks. The gameplay alone makes this game amazing!! This is a MUST have for your Wii system!! Pros: Innovative controller layout great us of the Wiimote. Sweet transitions from 2D to 3D worlds RPG elements make this game even more fun to play, rather than the same jump n squish formula we are used to. Cons: The time limit in 3D mode is very short. This could be improved. some more spoken dialogue would have been nice Not a lot else bad to say about this one.

This game is great. The only thing bad about it is the whole 3-D thing. Everything else is great. Buy it now!

The Paper Mario Platformer/Action RPG We've Been Waiting For

It has been 5 years since the last console Mario plat former, and 3 years since the last beloved Paper Mario game. Now Nintendo delivers both with the Platformer/Action RPG Super Paper Mario, and as weve come to expect from Nintendos first-party titles, this is a game for the ages.

The gameplay at a glance appears to be simple enough; Mario proceeds through a variety a worlds in traditional 2D Platformer style. But youre in for a real treat once you tap the A button. The world will then switch from 2D to 3D. This allows for the most bizarre, creative, and ingenious puzzles and gameplay moments in years. And other new gameplay elements keep the game fresh throughout its progression. Peach and Bowser, though under used, add a lot to the gameplay, as do the intriguing Pixls (that allow you to grab things, drop bombs, avoid traps, etc.) and unorthodox levels like space-shooter sequences. The game does borrow some RPG elements from its previous-gen counterparts, where Experience is replaced simply by the Points you obtain throughout the game.

As for combat, this game has dropped the turn-based battles of previous Paper Mario games in favor of on-the-go real-time combat. You may get the false impression that battles will now lose depth; quite the contrary. The games first boss, Fracktail, requires strategy beyond compare. Wii control is not everywhere in the game, and this feels just right. Timed shakes, waggles, and the occasional pointing does not feel tacked-on, as it does in many other Wii games.

The story also appears to be classic Mario. Peach is kidnapped, you must save the world, you collect Pure Hearts; nothing new, at first. But the wonderful twists such as a dimensional void, and heartbroken main villain, and Bowser as an ally soon switch it up. Also, as in other Paper Mario games, the writing is superb, with many moments where you will actually laugh out loud, and a deep storyline.

The presentation is also a blend of new and old. The bright, vibrant, and sometimes bizarre visuals will entertain your eyes every time you set foot in a new world, from the space age visuals of the Woah Zone to the classic-styled Bitlands. Though the 3D world leaves something to be desired in terms of visuals, this game is still a graphical masterpiece. The sound is equally pleasing. New tunes that range from jaunty and silly to dark and serious are placed well throughout the game, as are well done remixes of past Mario tunes. Quirky sound effects also abound. But do not be fooled by the colorful presentation; this is a game that many gamers would title hardcore. The difficulty is high enough to stump you on several occasions, but not in a frustrating way. This is what the 2D-to-3D mechanic can do.

This is clearly one amazing game. The entire game is one quality experience after another; trust me, if you buy this game you wont be disappointed. This Paper Mario truly is Super.

Yes Ive seen Previews on the internet and it looks asome and i give it 4.75 because it has some of the original levels of Mario and it can go 3-d or 2-d But paper mario has been the best 2-d game since the first one and this is like the best nintendo game until smash bros brawl comes out
