Creative....and Different

Developer Harmonix thought out of the box and what was the result? A very popular guitar game thats fun and creative. You think you can jump to expert on this game??? No, anyone that says they can...let them do it and they will get embarassed. You start off with 3 buttons as easy, 4 with median, 5 with hard, and 5 with expert but you see orange alot more(the last button. Sound/Graphics/Control all get 2 thumbs up and 5/5!!!! Very Creative! - JakeTheSnake

Greatest music game EVER!!!!!!!!

If you still haven't play Guitar Hero II, and im talking to all 5 of you, you really need to go out and buy it. The game is full of hair rising moments if your playng in hard or expert, enough songs to play on all 4 dificulties to last till the next game come and prety much enough material to live that fantasy of rocking out and blasting stereos without the tatoos, beers and drugs. I recomend "Freebird" in Expert, yea the slow begining is not that hard, but wait till you get to the midil part.

Guitar hero 2.Yeah its addictive as always. Is it just watching green, red, yellow blue, orange go across the screen or is it just thinking your a rockstar. To be for real im not really sure.ill just give it a 5.

Just like DDR, just without the workout.

There's something wildly addictive about games like Guitar Hero II, where you have to make sure your reflexes and your brain are operating on the same speed as the dots on the screen. Even though they should be hard and annoying, the addition of music seems to just make all those concerns disappear. Or maybe it's just fun to pretend to play a guitar solo when the real thing is considerably harder. It's surprisingly simple in this game. The guitar controller bundled with the game has five differently colored buttons on the neck, where you would hold the strings on a real axe, and one switch on the body, where you would pick them on a real one. As notes fly across the screen, you flick that switch while pressing the like-colored button, and voila, you are playing Pearl Jam better than Vedder himself could ever dream. Or you crash and burn, but at least this crowd is very forgiving - no need for extra lives in this game. Why this game is so addictive is a question awaiting a graduate thesis in psych to discover. But it is, and if you own a 360 or a PS2 (and with the imminent release of Guitar Hero III, a Wii or PS3), you would do well not to ask questions and get shredding.

this game is sick!

this is just, plainly speaking, amazing. this game and the one before it was just a breakthrough for simulations and sets the bar higher for the other sims in the futre. so in a nutshell this game ROCKS (of course im just pointing out the obvious)!!!!!!!!!!!

The best game i've played so far ( besides halo)

Guitar hero 2 for 360 rocks hard and kicks ass. It plays your favorite songs and you don't use a regular controler you use a guitar shaped one. But the bad thing is that if you buy it for 360 you'll have a hard time finding another xplorer controler. Besides that it's the best. Peace out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guitar Hero 2

y now, youve either played Guitar Hero, heard about it from a friend, or read us raving about it for the last year. I dont have a lot to add to the conversation about this game, but I did want to relate a brief anecdote that I think illustrates why this game has been so successful. This past New Years Eve, Andy had a party. A large group was down in the basement, where he has his games setup, and inevitably a game of Guitar Hero got started. While the people from GI in attendance were already converts, what really interested me was the way that this game draws new people under its spell. Id say that at least half of the people there were not avid game players, some not gamers at all. Still, after an hour, there were constant lines of partygoers who after having just played a few songs were working their way through the first batch of tunes and not-so-patiently yearning for another turn. Suddenly, the line for Guitar Hero was longer than the line for booze, which is saying something. Its pretty rare for a game to have this effect, and I think its a testament to Harmonix development expertise that Guitar Hero is addictive and inviting for everyone from the most novice player to the most hardcore. Guitar Hero II, as you likely already know, improved on the original by adding a great guitar/bass duet mode, more real-world gear endorsements, encores, and Freebird. I heard some complaints from people that felt the soundtrack could have used more hits, but I honestly liked having a few more dark horses in the race. Those whiners should be happy that quite a few of the 10 new songs are well-known songs by the likes Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Rick Derringer, Rancid, and Toadies. Also, I couldnt fail to mention just how crucial the inclusion of The Trooper is Maidens scorching leads have no peer in the world of metal. I have few complaints about this package. Its not dramatically better than the PlayStation 2 version, but its great that a whole new audience is going to have the opportunity to play Guitar Hero II. Im glad they included some new songs, and am excited at the prospect of downloading future tracks on Xbox Live, but a little disappointed that it wasnt possible to include online multiplayer, a feature that would have taken the GH experience to the next level. Also, I have a problem with the placement of the Xbox 360 Guide, start, and select buttons, which I frequently found myself hitting by mistake pausing the game with the palm of my picking hand. To be fair, I was the only one in the office who had serious complaints about this, so maybe its just my own overly zealous strumming style thats the culprit. These slight quibbles aside, Guitar Hero II is a fantastic game. If you havent already, go out and buy it. Its just that simple.

Guitar Hero II

First off, this game is amazingly addictive and fun. I first played it on PS2 (actually where I mostly played it). Then I tried it out for the Xbox 360. Although it is essentially the same, little additions and tweaks increase the quality of the game drastically. Achievements, HD graphics, more songs, and downloadable content make this game the ultimate GH package.
