Ryu's Back

Awesome game, better graphics, being as badass as ryu used to be in Ninja Gaiden Black, being able to play as racheal... What more could a Ninja Gaiden fan ask for?

Damn you sony

I finally had enough time off from work to sit home and get some use out of my ps3, so I decided to go rent a game. There aren't really that many good games out right now, but I love the original ninja gaiden games so I figured this would be a good choice. Well when I got home I started the game and as usual there have been some upgrades to the ps to download from the game. This took about 20 minutes. When I finally started playing the game it was indeed awesome. I did the usual running around in circles testing every button see what moves I can pull off and so forth. The problem I came across was when I actually started playing the game. Before I was going to fight the first boss I decided to save my game. As soon as I touch the save statue the freaking game froze. I waited 10 minutes to see if maybe it was because it's the first save or something and sure enough it started againg but then I decided to try touching the statue again to see if this was going to be a problem and sure enough the game froze again only this time I waited 20 minutes and nothing happened. I returned the game and got another copy of it and it still kept freezing so I switched out controls and that didn't work either. I don't know if it was just my system or what but I wound up returning the game and just renting some movies. Damn you for waisting my day off. I didn't give it a complete zero because the parts that were playable were cool, but what's the point if you can't save especially in a game with the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden.

Best Game for PS3!

This is definately one of the best games available for the PS3 at this time. I enjoyed it on the original Xbox and now I'm thrilled even more with it on the PS3. Team Ninja are the shizznit!

Ninja Gaiden: Sigma

A truly remarkable and fantastic bloodbath! If you haven't played the other versions of Ninja Gaiden and have a PS3, go buy this game now! If you have played the other versions, there isn't a real need to return for another round of ninja madness, but it will be fun and challenging nonetheless. You play as Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja with a view to kill. The graphics are great, the self shadowing is a nice feature too. The other versions of the game had great graphics, and this sets the standards for action games everywhere. The controls work out nicely, and the sound is pretty good; from the slashing of a sword to the sounds made by your footsteps as you run along walls. I, along with many other reviewers, would have to say this is probably the hardest video game of the last few generations, if not of all time. If you're frustrated easily, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this game to you. You are bound to see the "Game Over" screen many, many times.

Best Ninja Gaiden Ever

Great Graphics. Good Gamplay. Hard as Hell. That sums it up. Best PS3 game yet and probably still will be until MGS4 and MGSO.

It really is the reason you bought your PS3. Look at how amazing this game is. The gameplay, graphics, presentation, story, action etc etc. The game is the total package.

A Ninja Dream

I am one of the few, from what I hear and am told, that never played Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox. I had played the original way back on the Nintendo but I just never got around to owning an original Xbox and Im glad because that made this release all the better for me. I was really excited to get in on this "gameplay masterpiece" as it was described to me. Needless to say it was harder than I expected it to be, I cant tell you how many times it asked me if I wanted to abandon the way of the ninja on my first time through. But I persevered and by the end I was at least a couple ranks above Ninja Dog. It was some of the most fun I've had just playing a game in a long time. I didn't really pay much attention to the story and thats mostly due to it not being all that great but it did have its cool moments. The only problem I had with it was the jarringly different old cut scenes from the Xbox version and the fact that the original wasn't including, which I had heard it was in the Xbox versions. Other than that it is a game I recommend to any Ninja Gaiden fan and of course anyone in the PS3 game drought that is the summer of 07. At least now we have a Ninja to help our summer go by a little faster.

NINJA GAIDEN:SIGMA

ninja Gaiden has always been one of those games that the hardcore crowd likes to notch across their belt and then hold over everyone elses head. Its true that Ninja Gaiden provides a formidable challenge when it wants to, but it has somewhat unfairly developed this aura for being a game that devours gamers and spits them back out. This is kind of unfortunate, since I know some people have chosen not to play the game simply out of fear, and anyone who enjoys some good action should give this title a try. Even three years after its initial release, Ninja Gaiden still has the moves that inspire awe. The action is fluid and intense, and you still get to upgrade your weapons to learn new combos. Those who have played the game before will be impressed to see new cutscenes, combos, enemies, and bosses. There are even new missions featuring Rachel as a playable character. The new dual katanas are pretty fun to use, even if I found a few spots where it is better to just use one of the original weapons instead. Of course, one of the biggest changes is the graphical overhaul. I went back to play a little bit of the original game, and was surprised to see how much the graphics have changed. Its a graphical powerhouse. As great of an experience as this is, I do have a few problems with the game. The biggest I consider to be a design flaw that could have been fixed with a continue system or better save point spacing. Developers, I dont care how hard you make a game, but when I die, please dont make me replay the last 10 easy minutes to get back to the point where I need to practice. A few other holdovers from last gen make this game feel a little outdated, like odd load points, confusing level layouts, enemies that respawn when you turn a corner, and a bad camera. That last one actually baffles me since the camera is a little worse now than it was in the original. This may sound like a huge laundry list of complaints, but they are all fairly minor, and when you are in the middle of a killer combo or pulling off some slick ninja moves, they just float away. Now can we please have a sequel now, Tecmo?
