Better than you think

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Ugly visuals
Fantastic multiplayer Poor storytelling

Play through all of the Resident Evil games again from a new perspective! Now if rail shooters aren't you're thing then don't expect much. This one has decent visuals for a wii game but they get pretty muddy at times. Despite that this is the best rail shooter on the Wii right now. It is much longer than a normal rail shooter (like house of the dead or ghost squad) and there are a ton of items to collect and items to destroy. Awesome Game!

Rail Light Gun

Thats what this is. Just a Light gun game on Rails. However you can look slightly left and right to give it that kinda free feel but all in all, your still on the rail. The game is good and fun if you can play co-op. Because man oh man this game gets kinda hard. Its fun to play through all the games, because you literally do. You go through part of all the games. You fight a boss and close the file and start with a new character. I like playing as the bad guys, just fun that way. The graphics look like art work and are done well. The gameplay is good if you like light gun games, if you don't then don't bother playing this. All in all a fun game to play, but not a must have.

The New House of the Dead

you remeber when you went to the movies and there was the old arcade system with the gun and everything? well thats what this game is, only the arcade system is your wii and the guns are your wiimotes. in this game, the game is a 1st person shooter (duh) and the story is 4 stories in one plus some sub stories. the game summarizes resident evil 0, resident evil remake, resident evil 3 and a brand new never before seen mission that takes place in a base located in the fridged cold of russia with an array of guns and other goodies to unlock, you will be occupied with this game for a long time. i give this game a 4.75

Decent Game

Not a bad game. Especially if you like the light gun games from the arcade. The GP review kind of sums it all up.

Pretty Good for UC

Pretty good RE first person shooter. Not as much control as one would like, but great graphics and interesting plot. Teamwork was useful (if not needed) but was annoying to share health. Great for die-hard fans and newbies to the series as well.

resident evil umbrella chronicles

resident evil U.C. is a great game in all but when me and my brother saved up to buy put it into the wii aaand it was an rail shooter and made me feel sort of an asshole for buying it and well to tell you the truth i learned my lesson by going to 3 different game rating websites take what all of them said and decide "do i want to buy this game"!!?!!

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

Its been a while since i played a new Resident Evil title. As soon as i played this and finished it, i only had several things to say, and i'll split them up below: PROS: Finally, something other than walk around, kill hundreds of Ganados (RE4). This addition of a railshooter version of RE, shows Resident Evil can try anything and be good at it (except for some like RE: Gaiden and Survivor). The sheer amount unlockable content and replay value has made The Umbrella Chronicles a nonstop action packed game for the Wii. CONS: i was so disappointed with the story. it wasn't funny and it was upsetting to see how everything that was Resident Evil in the past, was recreated to look something horrible with the story and the cutscenes: It was like trying to reinvent Resident Evil in the way it never was supposed to be. And as for an additional CON, the graphics were another disappointment, especially after the way the REMAKE of Resident Evil, Zero, and Resident Evil 4 looked. I give this game a score of 4.00 out of 5.00. Hopefully, if CAPCOM attempts another shot at a Resident Evil railshooter, let's hope they can piece together a better story, as well as graphics that are naturally updated to make the game more realistic like its predecessors before.

Paralyzed with fear? Don't worry - you don't have to move.

A Resident Evil light-gun shooter? Hey, it sounds great on paper. And "Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles" has plenty to like about it. If you're a Resident Evil fan, you'll love this game, I guarantee. If you're not...you might have a bit of a harder time. The game's plot consists of a retelling of the previous RE stories. You start off on the infamous train as Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen and work your way through that, through the even more infamous mansion and finally to Raccoon City itself. Not to mention the other chapters that you've never played through before. I won't give anything away for you RE fans, but I think you'll like where they go. Like "Ghost Squad" and "Medal of Honor: Heroes," this game uses the Wii Zapper, the new light-gun peripheral, which makes you feel more like you're playing in an arcade. But this game is less of a "Ghost Squad" - a jerky, trigger-finger experience - than "House of the Dead," which is to be expected on some level. Still, if you came into this game, as I did, expecting a fast-paced, adrenaline-rush experience, you may be a little disappointed. The game is often slow and plodding, with long breaks between enemies, and if you've played through the original games, the shocks aren't always, well, shocking. And once you start shooting at things, you'll find that this game is far harder than your average light-gun game. I found myself dying fairly early, fairly often, before I started to get the hang of things. And even then, I found the difficulty in the game just a major drain on my enjoyment. It's not that I don't like challenges in video games - I do - it's just that I wasn't expecting a huge one here. I was expecting something more fun. And as far as that goes, this game falls far short. But as far as the limited light-gun shooter market goes, this game, along with "Ghost Squad," should be on your pickup list if you're an RE fan. If you're not, rent it first. Try it out. And if you like where it takes you, pick it up.
