NFS Carbon is an excellent game with great graphics. It is not only fun but exciting. Your heart gets pumping as you race down the canyon in a canyon duel and it is so exhilerating, but don't go to fast you don't want to fall of the canyon and have to start the race over. In my pinion it wasn't that hard of a game in story mode which is why i didn't give it a higher score. I beat the story mode of the game in about 10 hours total. But it is definitely worth gettin and you should get the collector's edition because it comes with 5 bonus cars. In fact my friend recently asked me what games he should get for 360 and i told him my top 5 and i said you definately need to get NFS Carbon.

the series is getting overrated but this game helps maintain balance between the cars. Still one of the better racing games you can buy.

I think EA got it right this time...mostly. It has a great twist to make NFS seem frsh, but also failed in some ways. For instance, the cars are great, including even the dodge Challenger Concept, but misses some traditional Street Racing vehicles. Namely the Saleen S7. The whole Bounty System has been dropped (good news for me) and in exchange, it's a bit harder to create a name for yourself throughout the game. You have a crew of blockers, drafters, and scouts. Why didn't it get my perfect 5? Because the game itself was good, and even Drifting is back in. What makes it a bit less of a street-racing game is the exclusion of Drag racing. A big setback for fans. If anything, the Wii version just may be a bit better due to the ease of controls over any other console.
Several key changes can't make this franchise seem any less tired

Anybody who's played previous NFS installments knows what to expect from this one. Eager to prove yourself to the underground racing communtiy, you start from the bottom and work your way up, buying new rides and customizing as you go along. Veterans will also recognize the rediculous cutscenes. The live-action acting in this game is laughably bad, so much that I wonder if EA wasn't trying to be funny with it. Also back is the tried-and-true racing engine: go fast enough and your surroundings will go blurry, hit the handbrake at the right moment and you'll blow right through a turn at 100+ mph, etc. Unfortunately, the graphics from the previous game, Most Wanted, also return. This game doesn't look even close to next-gen. But don't worry, they added a few new features for Carbon. Right off the bat, you'll get a tutorial on how to use your "wingman". Blockers can take other racers out of commision, Drafters will get in front of you to give you a big boost, while Scouts will stay ahead and show you shortcuts. It's not much, but it adds a new twist to what has always been a "lone-wolf" experience. EA also heavily tweaked the customization options. For a little extra cash, you'll be able to customize your car parts; want that spoiler to be a bit wider or that carbon hood to jut up a bit more? You got it. "Autosculpt" allows you to fully customize your car like never before (my favorite was the ability to add a chop-top to a Ford Mustang. Badass). Boss battles are also different. When a boss challenges you, it's quite a long process. First, you do battle in a standard city race, just to prove yourself. Then you take it to the canyon, where you take turns following each other down the hazardous, twisting roads. The objective is to follow your target as closely as possible, then when it's your turn, try to keep as much distance between you as possible. Whoever has the fewest points loses. Oh, and try not to fall of the side of the canyon. Basically, NFS: Carbon is a nice try to reinvent the series, but it just falls short of the Midnight Club games. From the predictable race types and "midnight city" atmosphere to the stereotypical characters (a rediculously dressed prep leads the Exotic racers, a Japanese guy runs the "Bushido" tuner gang, and there's even a fat-Elvis look-alike), it's apparent that EA isn't putting that much effort into beating Rockstar. If I didn't love customizing my car so much, I probably would have given this game a 3.5, but for what it's worth, NFS:C will give you the same thrills you've experienced before, which isn't really that bad.
