it is such a reward to get such a game with the Wii.Wii sports gives a great and very fun example of how motion sensing in games is a good idea.Every game you play, you must do almost the same movements that you would normaly do in the real sport.Take boxing for example.using the Wii-mote (and the nunchuck attachment),you punch and dodge your way to a KO like the real thing! This game also gives a slight workout (espically boxing!).Trust me,you might want to roll up your sleeves or wear a tank top while playing this game.overall, this is just a great game...it definitley gained a 5.0 from me.

Hm...let's see, a game with 5 sports, Golf,Boxing,Tennis,Bowling, and Baseball...we love it!! Wii Sports may have quite bad graphics, but it's worth having as a bundle with your fresh Wii. The point is to,well,PLAY. That's what games are for. Anyway, the controls make sense, and takes good advantage of the WIi-Motion-Sensing. In Boxing, you have to keep punching your opponent until they drop. And when they drop,it is possible for them to get back up,and they get health, but not all their health. In Golf, you just....hit the ball into the court, and what the good is,you get to practice your shot before you even hit. In Bowling,It's plain fun. Same with Tennis and Baseball. And Baseball seems to be the best one there...but when you play Boxing... Baseball could be K.O.'d. The downside is, the graphics are kinda shabby. We saw a bit of "Pixels" on some backround audiences and some effects.Plus, sometimes when you get a new game like Twilight Princess or Excite Truck, it's hard to stay hooked on Wii Sports...what I mean is, it's easy to be hooked on that game and easy to ignore Wii Sports... That is the down side. But pretty much, you'll be glad that Nintendo was cool enough to bundle Wii Sports with the hardware. If you love Wii Sports, then Wii Play and WIi Music MIGHT be good...but go Wii,young gamer.

Wii sports may not be the coolest looking game out there but it is oneof the funnest. It is very original because no other system has brought something like this to the table before. The best part about it is that almost anybody can play it because it doesn't take that much to learn and play. You pretty much just use the controller in the way that you would in the real sport that you are playing. You can also customize a Mii character to play with when you play wii sports. The only reason i give this a 4.5 instead of a 5 is i think they should have more games than they have for wii sports.

Two or three times now I have gone though a gaming experience like Wii Sports, one that has greatly expanded what I have come to know as video games. Experience one was when I was 6 years old and my uncle took me to a video arcade for the first time; I had never even played video games before then. The second epiphany in gaming came with Mario 64, I can still remember running around the 3D court yard back flipping and climbing trees for over a half an hour in awe the entire time, and all before the game even officially began. The third now, is Wii Sports. The first time we booted it up, my girlfriend and I, we were laughing involuntarily at how flawlessly everything was working. We're we really doing that? For me it was a comforting quilt of confirmation straight out of the dryer; Wii is everything it's cracked up to be. For my girlfriend, it was just giddy fun, especially since it seemed that she was able to kick my ass at will. Something she took deep pleasure in let me tell you. Since then though, the game has continued to grow on me. What appears at first to be a shallow example of what is possible with the Wiimote, actually turns out to be a very deep game design. An good example is Wii boxing. When I first played Wii boxing it was chaos; rapid flailing of punches resulted in some fairly funny although seemingly random results. Now that I've worked my way up to pro though, it is clear that the design isn't about throwing rapid successions of punches to confound your opponent. Rather it's one of timing, blocking, slipping punches and picking spots. On top of this, the game design also employs some true boxing science; it's much more beneficial to jab with your off hand and throw power shots with your power hand than just wailing away. It's also a lot more effective to string together logical combinations than just punching randomly. Being able to hold your gloves high or low to block shots is also a huge leap for boxing games. I have never played a boxing game where blocking was employed effectively. My attempts at blocking in the past have always resulted in cumbersome controlling that ends up costing you the match. Blocking in wii boxing couldn't be more intuitive or rewarding. Another example would be Wii Golf due to fact that the game displays a few meters to help you with your swing. Each time you take a practice shot you can look at the meter and see how hard youre swinging then attempt to take you real shot accordingly by holding down the A button. Played in the way, the game works. I have found though, that by playing with the A button depressed the entire time (essentially hiding the meters completely) the game works on a much deeper level. Take a look at your shot on screen without any meters, and then swing your club accordingly. I took about 2 stokes off my game instantly when I started playing this way. Even baseball, which I had been neglecting until recently, is currently my second favorite Wii Sport; there is a lot of meat to all of the games offered in this compellation. To me, there is simply nothing shallow about the experience and indeed, I feel it is the deepest sports offering gaming has ever seen.
