No one could forget the screams of joy when Twilight Princess was announced at E3. The fans could not believe that their beloved Zelda series was starting to get better. As a Zelda game, Twilight Princess pretty much has it all. A great story, superb graphics, and of course, the lovable characters from the Zelda franchise. Add all of that up with excellent gameplay, and you've got your self one heck of a game. What more could you ask for?

The story is similar to that of previous Zelda titles. Travel around the land of Hyrule, defeat all of the temple bosses, defeat Ganondorf, and rescue the princess. Your new partner, Midna, also plays a significant role in the game. There's also a new villain: Zant. As you progress through the game, you will notice the story get deeper and deeper until the end. Another positive is that Midna isn't as annoying as Navi or the King of Red Lions. Instead of repeatedly saying "Hey" or "Hurry", Midna simply tells you what to do without making you feel like punching her in the face.

The gameplay has changed somewhat from Wind Waker's. There's no sailing or "wind waking" involved. Instead, you get to play as the new Wolf Link (Okami, anyone?). When you reach an area covered in Twilight, you must turn into your newly-acquired Wolf Form. Outside of Twilight though, you must defeat enemies and conquer temples in your human form. To attack, you simply swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in your hand, though sometimes controls can be unresponsive or Link can attack when you don't want him to. Twilight Princess also introduces Horseback Sword Combat, which no other Zelda game has done. Of course, once you acquire the Warping ability, you probably will find yourself saying bye-bye to your trusty steed, Epona. The difficulty, in certain aspects of the game, is not as hard as Ocarina of Time. Heck, some are so easy that all you have to do is keep swinging the Wiimote. But who said difficulty makes a game special, eh?

Surprisingly enough, the graphics engine is the same exact engine used on Wind Waker, with a few polishes. On the Wii, the graphics are nothing the Wii can't handle. The games graphics were meant to bring out as much graphical power possible from the Gamecube. The Wii version is also a mirrored version of the Gamecube one, with Link's sword being in his right hand instead of his left. Though the graphics look pretty, there are a few rugged textures here and there, but most of the graphics are clear and impressive. The expressions on Link's faces don't look painted on at all, either.

If you're a Wii or Gamecube owner desperate for a good game that will last you a long time, then look no further than Twilight Princess. It's probably the best Gamecube game out there, and one of the best Wii games, too. You definitely don't want to miss out on this masterpiece.

One of the best games I have ever played. I don't own an xbox or ps, just a Wii so I would have no idea about Halo or any other games like those. Even though I am a cheater, it's still fun to play.

Awesome, but could be better....

Pros Cons
Engaging story
Loads of content
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls

This game is really awesome. Everything is fun and cool but I had one or two problems with the game. First is that some parts are soo hard you want to give up. I had to buy the Prima guide just to get through the game it was so confusing. Unless you have an awesome IQ, you will be on Game Guides a lot. Aside from the super confusing places this game rocks. If you don't mind a hard brain teaser 5+ times then this game is for you. And if you own a Wii this is the best (or one of the best) games to have for it.

What Wind Waker Should Have Been

Pros Cons
Engaging story
Epic boss fights
Intense action
Addictive gameplay
Just plain fun

The Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. So one should expect that I would be singing praises up and down for the latest entry to arrive on the Nintendo Wii system, right? Well... yeah, pretty much.

While every Zelda game to date has been a hit in my book, I haven't been truly blown away ever since Ocarina of Time first hit the Nintendo 64. I had high expectations for Wind Waker when it first arrived on Gamecube, and although it was an enjoyable game, it just didn't meet the high standards that were set by its previous entries. However, that all changed on November 19, 2006 when both the Nintendo Wii and the new Legend of Zelda released simultaneously. Like a kid on Christmas morning I hooked everything up the moment I got home and was launched into a role-playing haven to the likes of which I've never seen.

You start the game off slow in a small village that Link calls his home. Here you are introduced to the game, its characters, and everyone's favorite mode of Hyrule transportation: Epona. After spending a bit of time in the village, the game kicks into high gear and you are changed into a wolf with new abilities that completely turns the world of Zelda upside-down. From here on out, you realize that you are destined to save the world, animal form or not, and must do so by navigating a line-up of cleverly designed dungeons.

I had not played an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 prior to trying out this game, so to me, the graphics were outstanding. This is the first time in the history of the series that I felt like the game was alive, with well designed character models and astounding lighting effects. It should also be worth noting that this game has a much darker, more realistic feel to it, which is a sharp contrast to Wind Waker's cel-shading effects which came before it.

The soundtrack for this game is superb as well. All the tracks were wonderfully orchestrated and have that classic Zelda flavor that has been a staple for the series since the beginning. The only disappointment here is the lack of voice work that has been done for the game aside from the short voiceovers that play when talking to a character, but this is nothing new and does not retract from the enjoyment of the game.

Playing this game with the Wii remote is a major draw for this title. With the exception of playing with a plastic sword as a child, this is the first time I got to imitate Link's sword fighting skills without feeling like an idiot. Although you may look silly to your friends and family that happen to pass by as you are flailing your Wii remote in the air, you will be having far too much fun to care. I think having the controls done in this manner also helps reduce the amount of buttons required to control the game. All you need to do is wave the Wii remote to swing Link's swords, and waving the nunchuk gives you access to spin attacks and shield blocks. In addition, the remote makes sounds during combat that help reinforce the feeling that you are actual engaged in sword combat.

We are slowly entering the HD era of gaming, and with that in mind, it may seem like the Wii will lag far behind. But if a majority of Wii titles can maintain the sort of quality that is pouring out of this latest Zelda adventure, I think Nintendo's system can hang with the big dogs with the best of them. If you have a Wii, or are thinking about buying one, you should pick up Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. You won't regret it.

Best Wii game ever!

Pros Cons
Engaging story Terrible multiplayer
Loads of content
Epic boss fights
Addictive gameplay
Just plain fun

I just finished playing Zelda: Twilight Princess and I have to say I was and still am addicted to this game! It was my first time playing a Zelda game and I have to say I am converted! It has totally addictive game play - swinging the Wii remote to act like a sword is always fun- and the story kept me interested. It's only con is that you can't make Link jump which can be a little frustrating at times went you jump off cliffs by accident. But all in all it is an awesome game and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Oh my Hyrule Gods!

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Not enough content
Engaging story
Addictive gameplay

This is one of the most amazing Zeldas I have played. So much better than Windwaker as we see a young man go through so many things not to only save Hyrule but A realm Of Twilight. Also his personal life is threatened as well and he must confront many dangers to triumph over evil. This is how a game is suppose to be and hope Nintendo brings more Zelda games like this to us gamers that enjoy adventure.
