This game is great

Super Mario Galaxy offers intuitive control excellent graphics by wii standard and is overall one of the best games you can play on the wii by yourself. One thing that you should be warned about is the supposedly 2 player co-op mode. Take it from that that is a bunch crap. That said don't buy this game thinking you and your buddy can play it on all night together. The 2nd player just sits around a collects little star bits while the other basically plays the game.

Buy This Game.

Super Mario Galaxy was massively hyped within the gaming community, but not so much on TV, and while that may have hurt its sales in comparison to Halo 3's, this is the better way to spend $50. The game has your typical plot for a Mario game: the princess is captured by Bowser, there are a bunch of turtles and goombas to squash, and you'll do it all while looking fashionable in new costumes, such as good ones (the Bee Suit and Fire and Ice Marios) and bad ones (Boo Suit, Spring Mario). Gameplay-wise, this is the reason you bought a Wii. Yes, there's Zelda, Resident Evil 4, and some other good ones, but nevertheless, you will feel validated once playing this game. The graphics are beautiful, the best-looking on Wii to date, and while the camera can cause some minor problems, this feels like the sequel to Super Mario 64 that Super Mario Sunshine should have been. The only problem with controls is that swimming is still rediculously hard. Level design is very creative, ranging from the really easy missions to the oh-my-God-is-it-over-yet final level, which merges so many tricks with gravity, the Wiimote's functionality, and your own prowess to mention here. The game is also easier than Mario 64, but I won't count that as a bad thing concerning the Wii's approach to making sure everyone can play. It's still a tough game for the casual gamer, but experienced pros will beat it without too much problem. Overall, if you have a Wii, you need to get this game. Pop it in, kick back, and have some fun.

A must have for the Wii

this game is amazing. brings back memeories of the mario on the n64. collecting the stars and stuff never gets old. The game itself is actually pretty trippy and some points when you r upside down and sideways. Def a must for any mario fan

Mario Galaxy

Definetly worth the $50.00(unlike other shovelware thats out there for the same price). The controllers are classic. Theres no gimicky moves whatsover, the moves are simple to great. Best graphics to date on the Wii, and sound is amazing. This is up there with Zelda:Twilight Princess. A must have for wii owners.

Buy It! NOW!

I bought this game on it's launch day, & I can't get enough! The story might be same old, same old, but the gameplay is the reason why this magazine gave it an awesome score. With over 40 Galaxies, 120 Stars, and a Second Quest (where you play as Luigi), this game will keep you hooked for a long time. (even though the co-op stinks)

Two thumbs up to Mario

Ah, Super Mario Galaxy the best Mario game since Super Mario 64. The game starts when you get an invitation from Peach to come to the castle on the night of the star festival. Bowser then comes and crashes the party and the castle goes into space. You get kicked off by a magic koopa and land on a planet with bunnies who want to play hide and seek. After you catch them, you meet with Rosalina who wants you to collect power and grand stars to help the lumas survive. Once you get enough stars you can face Bowser and his son and rescue Peach.

White Dwarf?

Super Mario Galaxy. Let's get a few things straight right off the bat. If you're a Wii owner and have not purchased this game yet...

You Suck. And, deserve to get slapped in the face by a gorilla with scurvy.

I'm going to take you through the highs and lows about the game(yes there are lows). But, this game is still a title that is a must-have this holiday season, if you haven't picked it up yet.

The Good:

First off. Music. Sweetness, sweetness, oh, so much bloody sweetness booms out of the soundtrack for this game. You have new orchestrated goodness, and it ranges all the way to the golden Mario oldies that a lot of older gamers will get nostalgic over. Making them wanna go back and play older Mario titles. =0)

Another thing about this game that's bloody awesome, is the controls. A lot of Mario fans may be discouraged about the Wiimote and Nunchuck, thinking they'll have to be jumping around the room to make Mario do the simplest of tasks. Well, no. You don't have to worry, gamers. These controls are spot on. They're responsive and shaking the Wiimote to make Mario spin feels really good. While the controls are stellar. It's actually a reason I think its a con as well. We'll get into that later, though.

The levels in the game range from smaller planet hopping and jumping, to the bigger stages kind of reminiscent to Mario 64. The creativity really is the best thing about this title. I find myself liking to smaller planet hopping better than the big worlds. I like the gravity manipulation. On top of the creativity, they're bright and colorful and a lot goes down in the game that you'd wish you can see again and again. Which you can. I usually find myself playing certain stars just to see a certain sequence of explosions.

Which brings me to the graphics. You know a lot of people will disagree. But, I don't think graphics mean jack. I see kids running out and buying PS3's just to have the "1337 Gr4ph1c5". Well, I'm not that guy. And, I seriously think that Super Mario Galaxy can play with the big boys. And, why can it do this? Simple, Artistic Style & Direction. The vibrant colors and animations just scream,"LOOK AT ME". Beautiful water effects; enemy facial expressions; Mario's movements. I mean, it's all just there, working in perfect harmony. To put it short. This is definitely eye candy. And the yummy kind. Not that, candy corn crap.

The Bad:

Yeah, I told you there was bad. I'm really not going to be modest about it because it hurts the game for me. Why is this game so polished? And why is it so easy? Two questions, that I continue to ask Nintendo. Back when Mario 64 came out. The difficulty was actually a lot harder than this game. Do you know why? The controls. Everything just works so good. Jumping works, turning on cue works. Everything just works. One of the reasons Mario 64 was difficult was due to the controls.

Now, I understand that this is a gripe more than a problem. But, I'm actually kind of thinking out of the box and trying to relate it to the difficulty. The difficulty curve just seems way too light. I appreciate the "comets" that take past challenges and making them harder. It's just to far in between, and scarce for me. This game is just too easy.

The Bottom Line:

Parents, if you have children. This game is perfect for them and their little brains and tiny hands(creepy) this holiday season. If you play games casually along with your children, you'll probably like this, too. But, hardcore gamers, beware! This game is not fulfilled for $50.00. And, is merely a rent, sadly. Since you're going to knock it out in 2 days, rent it. Enjoy, then take it back. But, if you're a Nintendo fan and want to support the Jumpman. You better go buy it now, you can squeeze the most out of it, get 120 stars. And, then start again with Luigi, I know I did

Super Mario Galaxy Review

This game is a must buy for Wii owners out there. All the things I saw about the game made me buy it on the first day and once I put it in I couldn't stop playing for hours. The graphics: everyone says "oh Wii graphics suck!(hehehe I'm a noob)" Well most games I've played are not what they say. This game proves the people wrong. The story is pretty decent but all games are the same rescue princess restore mushroom kingdom. The levels are great with a variety of worlds and levels to explore you find new paths all the time. This game is all-around greatness! I had to give it a 5 for a score. (and the fact mario is putting a gun up to my head if I didn't lol) Anyways go out and buy it or Mr. T will pity you.
