Let me start of by saying (and exposing myself to a lot of ridicule) that I hated Metroid Prime. Really, I did. Having played the series' two GBA incarnations, Fusion and Zero Mission, and loving them immensely, it was a horrible shock when Prime turned out to be a watered-down FPS. All first-person 3D platform jumping, no action to speak of, and what there was was oddly unenjoyable. I hated it so much, I made sure to give the sequel, Echoes, a very wide berth. Fast forward to present day. Metroid Prime 3 is coming out, and I decide - against my better judgment, perhaps? - to try it out. After all, it's the Wii. Who knows what the new control scheme could do? As it turns out, quite a bit. As is the case with most Wii games, there's a learning curve involved when it comes to controls. But, where it took me two hours to learn the ropes of Resident Evil 4 and three to figure out Call of Duty 3, Metroid Prime 3 started coming to me after perhaps half an hour. The controls are just so easy to learn, and immerse you so deeply into the gameplay, that they are easily some of the best on the system right now. The other thing about Corruption that sets it apart from its predecessors is the action. It's as if Retro Studios finally decided to make this an FPS. Oh, there's plenty of platform jumping, for all you old-school Metroid fans out there. But there's also plenty to blast at, and the action is a lot more prevalent. It certainly made my heart beat a little faster. I won't give away what part of the game this happened in, but I guarantee you'll know it when you see it - the amazing thing was, this was barely an hour into the game, when the game is usually slow. And yes, it does get better as you go. With all the hype surrounding the game, one wonders, is Prime 3 the best game on the Wii right now? I would have to answer "no" to that one - Resident Evil 4 is more fun to play, and delivers plenty more jolts. But Metroid Prime is, in my opinion, a close second. It's a great way for the Metroid Prime trilogy to end, and a very welcome addition to the Wii's library.

There is no need to state the obvious, but I will for people who actually want an honest review. The game is wonderful in every account. The graphics are awesome better than warhawk and heavenly sword I might add for all of you Hd lovers. The gameplay is the best to date because of the wiimote and nunchuck combination making it the best FPS ever to date. Metroid from the time you turn it on feels like a movie, it flows smoothly and eerily. I just think whoever may be looking at a review for it should just go out and play it. All of the other reviews are from Sony fanboys who have never played the game and just cant stand it when Nintendo is back on top.

Go ahead and just buy this game. This is the type of game that I just bought because I knew it was going to be good, and it was. I mean I have'nt played the whole game but I have played it the whole day today and I had lots of fun. The Wiimote is'nt as shaky anymore it's a lot smoother.

Even though Halo is a Metroid Knock Off that top's all the charts. I would never trade in a good srategy/shooter game for a simple checkpoint to checkpoint game with good graphics.Metroid Prime3 brings back all the Beams,Bosses, & Gameplay that's made it a hit since the late 80's, & more. Sure it takes a little getting use to the controller, but once you got it you'll be in a world where you you actually got to think & strategize to advance.
obviously it's not out yet, but....

Judging from the last two primes, and the controls, I can already tell that this game is not hit or miss, its hit or hit. It's gonna rock so hard! I can't wait for my friend to get this so I can play it, or me get a wii!

I LOVE metroid but I am not sure about the wii controler its just NOT my type and the new metroid is more action than adventure so they are trying challenge halo. I love metroid games ESPECIALLY METROID PRIME and in some cases it is better than halo in the way they look through their eyes for example when playing samus you CAN see the helment and in halo you CANT see the helment. METROID PRIME 3 will be awesome but I am not sure about the controlers tv controls are NOT my type AT ALL. GO SAMUS GO I WISH YOU LUCK MY HUNTER GIRL.
