I agree with everything Gamepro said, but there's something I want to say. As an FPS, it uses the Wiimote as a gun. As stereotypically predicted. But as we all know, previous Wii shooters have poo for controls. But this game? It is the perfect Wii FPS, and should blaze a trail for others to come, this I dearly hope.

A Must Have For Wii Owners Metroid Prime 3 is exactly what Nintendo had in mind when they talked about an immersive gaming experience. I'm sure by now most players are familiar with the MP series and I'll be the first to tell you that the last chapter of the trilogy is easily best. Bring on the Space Pirates! The third chapter of the Metroid Prime trilogy is easily the most action packed of the three. Almost from jump you find yourself fighting off a Space Pirate attempt to invade your ship and this had not always been the case with others in the series that were slow to get into the action. The controls are very responsive and though it's different to have Samus work with a team of hunters, it actually adds something to a series that had really just focused on Samus exploring desolate worlds and never really knowing how she was made aware of many sitations that required her expertise. Where prime really shines is the controls. You get a real sense of satisfaction when you flick the nunchuck to extend your grapple and yank a cover off of a door or a protective shield from and enemy. The A.I. also seems to be more intelligent than in past games, often hiding behind various objects in an area to make hitting them a little more of a challenge. The pointer system works great for shooting and in a battle like the early fight with Hunter Rundas, you'll see just how much better it feels to just point and blast with ease the ice rocks that he throws at you versus the analog way of aiming. Graphically MP3 is also the best looking game on the Wii at this time. The other characters as well as Samus have a good amount of detail and the cockpit of the ship as well as the backgrounds on the various worlds are also a job well done. Closing Comments Metroid Prime 3 is an overall excellent choice for any Wii owner. You can tell a lot of effort was placed on the title by Retro Studios and it does deliver. The boss fights are great and you will never want to play a FPS any other way after playing this game. I wanted to play more of the game before I wrote a review thus explains the delay but I just don't feel that you can accurately score a game after just a couple of hours playing time. the game has good control. the good news is that the control with the remote is awesome but the sound needs a little bit of improvement. the graphichs are okay with me.the greatest thing about the game is the control.

I will preface this review by announcing that I have never been a fan of the series and have never really played any of the games before. For some reason the 2D NES and SNES, as well as the 3D GC versions never made it into my home. That said after reading the initial reviews of the game from various gaming sites I decided to end my metroid celebasy, and am i ever glad i did. This game is great. The gameplay is stellar. The controls are so fluent and intuitive that I forget most of the time that I am actually aiming and turning around with the wii-mote. Additionally the game offers a variety of different puzzles, which although they are relatively simple to solve are rewarding in their own right. My only complaint aside from the complete lack of multiplayer support is that sometimes playing feels like a bit of a chore. By the time I reached the pirate homeworld I was beginning to tire of the same old exploration (its possible I have ADHD though) and puzzles - the pirate encryption visor seemed like unnecessary work as well. Regardless this is one of the best games currently out for the Wii, and it truly shows off what can be accomplished with the Wii-mote controller. Personally with myself not being a fan of the series I doubt I would pick up a sequel (or go back and play the earlier installments for that matter). Nevertheless its worth a purchase - unless you want to spend the next month or so playing Carnival games or something dork like that.

this is the best game out right now. the controls are awesome. the cut scenes are sweet. and of course samus is the most bad ass girl ever. the lack of online multiplayer does not effect the game. metroid has always been a single-player game
if you loved bioshock, be prepared cuz this is even better

Yeah, i picked up bioshock just like everyone else, and i can tell you right now i loved every minute of it. i then purchased metroid prime 3 about a week later, even though i feared it could be another red steel. the moment i got into the game i knew i was wrong. this was quite possibly the best wii game yet, even better than Zelda. so i played through the rest of the game on veteran, got 100% completion, then moved on to hyper mode, which is absoultly INSANE! im not going to reveal any spoilers, as this game is heavy storyline wise, but i just can't tell you enough how good the controls are. they work perfectly, no problems, no bugs. More or less what im saying is, if you have a wii, get this game!
All Wii owners should get this game.

I knew Metroid Prime 3 was going to be good, but i never knew it would be great. I picked it up on its release date and was eager to start playing. Here's my rundown: Control - The control was so easy i was actually surprised; it became second nature in no time at all. It's just amazing how smooth and precise the aiming is. Forcing the nunchuck forward throws the Grapple Beam at an enemy, and forcing it back pulls the beam back too, pulling an enemy's shield off in the process. That's a blast! Gameplay - The action is more frequent and the puzzles are somewhat difficult but satisfying once completed. The high level of interactivity with control panels and other items is a fresh feeling, no more just scanning to activate them. Graphics - Beautiful. The art direction and style in MP3 is the best i've ever seen on any game. Period. The increased power of the Wii gives Prime 3 better graphics all around, including higher resolution textures, advanced lighting, and more characters on screen. In short, Metroid Prime 3 is shear brilliance. Easily the best Metroid Prime and quite possibly the best Metroid ever (sorry Super Metroid). I would recommend this masterpiece to any Wii owner who hasn't tried Metroid yet. Congrats Retro Studios! :D-

I played Metroid Prime 3: Corruption today for the first time and I must say, this game was amazing. I did not get to finish the entire game, but already, I wish I had. This game really shows the gamer, and uses all the abilities the WII remote can actually do. For all of you looking for a good WII game to play, this is definitely the one to play.
