This is a truly fun game that must be shared with others to appreciate there is nothing more fun then driving side by side with a buddy racing and crashing together. The only flaw i see is the lack of online mulitplayer this would be a great feature for this game. Every Wii should check this one out.

So this weekend I rented Excite Truck, just to see what it was about... when i got home i cracked it open and played for a while... i got a little annoyed because i couldnt get it to work... Then, an hour later, i tried it again it was so muchh fun... after you get used to the controls, the game is just so much fun... possibly the funnest racing game i have ever played... i cant think of any other racing game where i had that much fun... Control: the controls are about as easy as it gets, move the right side of the controller to turn right, move the left side of the controller down and turn left... 2 button is gas 1 button is brake/revers, and the whole dpad is turbo!!! you cante ever say you couldnt find the turbo or you it the wrong button... their are 4 directions you can push to go fast, pick one and youll never go wrong... 4.5 Graphics: despite the fact that it is ran on a relatively underpowered hardware setup the game looks great.. when you hit a palm tree coconuts actually fall down, i saw a tree flex after i hit it... could been a rubber tree... the vehicles though not real named brands are cool looking and have sharp appearances... 5.0 sound: i just put this one in here because GP does, i dont really care about how high quality the sounds are... but i thought this games sounds were cool and the songs wheren fun and never annoying, they always seemed to blend in to the surrounding... 5.0 FunFactor: Going along with my first paragraph, this game is so much fun... especially if you play it with a friend... my friend and i played for like an hour.. we tried every race and i loved each one, win or lose... what makes this game so much funner than any other racing game is that you could be ahead the entire race, but then within the last 2 minutes the others catch up and can win it... you can appear from anyware.. you can skip whole parts of the map by getting a turbo jump off a huge ramp... this game is all about fast paced handling and jumping... you get points for drifting driving close to trees wrecking, wrecking other people, jumping high and flying through rings that are in the air after a ramp... the winner on a vs map gets 15 extra points... its all about the points, you dont even have to cross the finish line first and you can still win.... 5.0

This game is good, but it gets old quick and the graphics are mediocore. Its a good launch title for the Wii, but in one year used game bins will be full of Excite Trucks for cheap prices.
Excite Truck brings the series and the wiimote to a great new height

I am impressed. Excite Truck is an installment in the somewhat neglected although highly regarded Excite series from Nintendo that began with the arcade and nes classic Excite Bike in the mid 80s. The hook of the franchise has always been huge jumps that require some intelligent vehicle handling both in air and upon landing to maximize distance and speed. The series has maintained the ability to willfully wipe out your racing opponents for points and personal satisfaction as well. Sweet satisfaction. For the first hour or so of play time I was enjoying myself with an arcade style racer, but I wasn't really feeling the Excite game play. I've invested more time now though and I can safely say that before long it begins to feel exactly like Excite Truck, and that is a very good thing. The series is brought to new heights on the Nintendo Wii, literally. The jumps and air time in this title are almost comically impressive and easily eclipse anything I've seen in any preceding racer. There are a few tracks in the game where it seems flying skills are just as essential as driving skills, I'm not kidding. The Wiimote also empowers the title with all new depth of control as its sensors allow for intuitive steering and landing. Players are rewarded with strong turbo boosts for landing squarely on four wheels after huge jumps. Given the fact that the terrain is rarely flat, being able to tilt the wiimote as though it were my truck allows for some very intuitive landings. In terms of extras the game offers a two player vs. race mode, and a satisfyingly deep point system that rewards players for honing their skills. Players are rewarded with trophies for things like huge jumps, smashing up your opponents, or being able to drive though forested areas without crashing into any trees. There is an added level of difficulty after all of the four main circuits have been finished along with superior machines to unlock so that you may take them on. Players are also given extra paint jobs for the vehicles they drive the most but it hasn't added anything to my experience so far. Graphically Excite Truck is one of the more impressive Wii launch offerings. The vehicles are crisp and shiny, the environments are varied and inviting, and the frame rate is rock solid. The draw distance is nice too and is illustrated often by the huge jumps I was mentioning. The music is another story unfortunately. I would go so far as to call it bludgeoning and uninspired. Thankfully the game allows for players to override the soundtrack with any MP3 files stored on an SD card. I personally dont own an SD card though which is unfortunate. In terms of weeknesses, Excite Truck brings a few to the table depending on your racing tastes. This is not a simulations racer, not by a long shot. There is no vehicle customization beyond a few extra preset paintjobs. There is no racing season to partake in just your basic circuit of tracks and the title laughs in the face of real world physics. I am enjoying Excite Truck very much in the role it played of rounding out my launch gameplay experience. I have put roughly 16 hours into the title since launch, and it has performed past my expectations. For those who are looking for the kind of long term gameplay in their racers offered by online season stats however, the presentation of Excite Truck will appear a little shallow. Over all I have had a blast with Excite Truck, and I still have a couple circuits to finish up. Thanks for reading,
This raceing game adds spice.
