Didn't Reach My Expectations

The game is F.E.A.R. They talked about it for months. I thought it would be awesome. I thought it would scare the pee out of me. What I didn't know, was that it wouldn't do any of those things. It started out looking like an xbox game. It reminded me of Doom 3. The graphics anyway. I thought the graphics would blow me away, but it definately didn't do that. The sourroundings didn't even look like am early PS2 game. The sound was amazing though. With my 5.1 sorround sound it actually captured it. If someone is talking in front of you and you turn, the sound moves around the room. I enjoyed that. The overall gameplay was pretty fun. The F.E.A.R. factor didn't really scare me though. I mean, I have to admit, some moments startled me, but other than that it wasn't scary. I am not telling you to go buy the game and try this or anything, but I found three awesome things with the game. If you go into slow-mo and get up point-blank with someone and shoot them, they turn into a big ball of blood and peices of meat fly everywhere. My friend did that while they were in a corner, and blood went all over the walls around him. Anohter thing I would like to point out is that if you get the shotgun and go into slow-mo, aim for there head when you get close to them, and it will decapatate their head and when there limb body hits the ground, blood spurts out. The last thing is if you get the penatrator gun (or whatever it is) if you shoot them in the leg they will have a limp in their walk. If it wasnt for those three things i would have given it a 3.5. The game is overall a decent game. It has its share of blood and gore, but if you must play it, rent it, thats what i did because it wasnt what i expected and it might not be what you expected either.

There's nothing to be afraid of.

F.E.A.R. is a pretty good game with higher level graphics. The story mode is a long one (three parts to a level that last at least 15 minutes) and a kinda boring one at that. The game tries to scare you buy putting major gore and zombies in the game along with suprize flashes of zombie's faces and an evil little girl. One thing the game does to ruin the scare factor is that the game makes a sound before something scary happens thus making you expect something full of gore and ruining the suprise. The multiplayer is fun but lacks the fun "oh my gosh I just slaughtered you" felling with confusing games where you could be shooting your teammate and think it's your enemy. All in all I think the game deserves some props for ,at least, having good guns and weapons that are fun to use.I would suggest that if you want to buy it rent it first.I rate it a 4.5.

F.E.A.R is a game that the faint of heart shouldn`t play. it is a very gory and frieghtening game. If you enjoy first person shooters, horror, and a game with a good plot i suggest you take a peek at F.E.A.R

F.E.A.R.

I have played many FPS. doom, Quake, Unreal and on and on. F.E.A.R. is in a class of Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man. Visuals. particles effects with the Matrix slow motion give you better accuracy and mobility second to none. The A.I. is by far the BEST of any FPS i have played. Gears of War, the A.I.is good and better on Resistance, but on F.E.A.R., when you hear the enemy squad letter leader, a granade is coming your way. And before you focus on an enemy with your scope about to blast him, take a look around you first, simply because you are being scoped to be balsted aswell. F.E.A.R. rocks.

Fine game, but i could have been much better.

What can i say it's a fun and inmensely scary. The combat was actually smart if one wanted to survive you had to use cover. Though i wish there would have been more combat segments, and the end game leaves me with the need for a sequel. The most dissapointing factor is that this version had so little extra to give, a new weapon and a lame bonus chapter. If you never played F.E.A.R, get this version ( or the ps3 one) now. The graphics pleased me and the rag doll physic even more, but the 360 can do better. Though the visual effects were awesome. The sound is impresive i can't really explain it play it and you'll see.Controls: ehh what do i know about controls, they were comfortable enough. Pro tip: use cover all times and only move when enemies are reloading and when you have the slow mo on, also use slow mo to snipe with more patience and precision at enemies.

good and bad

This was a good game but there were flaws in the game. the game does not have that good of graphics but are better than all ps3 games so far and better than some 360 games. This is not a scary game it might be scary at first but then you will get youst to it. There is great multiplayer. It in my opinion is the best part of the game. The game is fun dont get me wrong but it does have some flaws last I need to say all hail xbox 360

fun..for 5 minues.

Well I enjoyed this game at the beggining, It was very interesting. But as the levels went by the game got repetitive. Same old enemies, and pretty cheap and weak weapons. The intro for the little girl kinda wants you to play more but it is just too boring. But on the plus side, the graphics are great, and the story is deep. But otherwise I don't recomend this game. It gets 3 boring levels....out of 5

F.E.A.R Rocks

This is an incredible game. The single player is intense and freaky and can only be played for a short time without freaking you out. The multiplayer is fast paced and a blast. Truly one of the best shooters in a while.

Thank God He's Back (In his ship)

There is a horrible drought on the DS right now. That drought is the lack of fully 3D games. Anyone who owns a DS knows that most games on the DS consist of puzzle games, sprite-based games, and games with polygons but 2D gameplay. Whats sad is the fact that the DS is capable of some great 3D, N64 era gaming. That fact is proven by the great return of Fox McCloud in StarFox: Command. The whole gang is back in StarFox: Command. Everyone from Slippy to Falco is here and playable. The story revolves around the new threat of the Anglar Emperor on the Lylat system. This is also a nice return of the classic StarFox we havent seen since the N64. Thats right. Its space combat at its finest. But its not totally the same. You do fly around shooting baddies in your Arwing instead of hitting dinosaurs with a staff or shooting people on foot, but you have a much more non-linear flight path. At the start of each level, you are given a map and the ability to choose where to go by scrolling your stylus across the screen and then wait for the enemy to make its move. You can drag it toward enemies or you can grab missiles for the Great Fox (your mother ship). If the Great Fox gets hit, its game over. You can also use the stylus to clear out the fog of war and see whats ahead. It seems like a bit of a put off at first, but two levels in and I was happy with the change of pace. Once you engage an enemy, you go into the real beef of the game: the space combat. Its a bit different here too for two reasons. The first is that you have 360 degrees of movement making it more like Rogue Squadron than StarFox 64s more linear gameplay. The second difference is the controls. Instead of turning and aiming with an analog stick, you do it with the stylus and touch screen. You also do rolls and flips and speed up and down with it and even drop bombs with it. I must admit that at first I hated this control scheme. However, within 30 minutes, I began to change my mind. It does take some time to get use to it, but once you do, it feels good. The graphics are good, but due to the fact that its a fully 3D game on the DS, I will say the graphics are great. It has more detail than the N64 version, but has a lot of jaggies that are more common on PS1 games. It does look better than I had expected it to, though, as it easily passes the N64 version. The sounds are also pretty good, but the shooting sound becomes a bit monotonous. However, you are given the option to record a voice through the DS microphone and the characters will do their babbling in whatever tone and pitch you had it record. You could record you favorite actor, your dog barking, or maybe even certain bodily functions. The possibilities are endless. It does have multiplayer and it is pretty good. You can play against your friends by either shooting down other ships or shooting down each other. They are both pretty status quo, but they are fun nonetheless. StarFox: Command is a breath of fresh air in the DS game library and a sigh of relief for every StarFox fan out there that wanted their hero back in his Arwing. Its a great game that every DS owner should at least try.
