I loved everything about this game! Whether you think the Guitar Hero games are stupid or just pretend toys, or whatever you should at least try this game! The set-list was pretty solid, this was before this game was all commercialized and filled with ads! I still play it to this day! The only downside is that the extra tracks aren't that great, and the songs get pretty annoying after a while lol. But still a definite buy for any music or guitar fan!
Why fix something that ain't broken?

The first Guitar Hero was a great success... but the sequel created a pop culture phenomena. This installment did what great game sequels should do... expand on a concept, flesh it out, then improve upon it. The soundtrack is more diverse and the hammer-ons are more forgiving. The addition of a practice mode is awesome. (I failed to mention in my last review that besides game's length that the lack of a practice was another downer for the first Guitar Hero.) There's not much else to say that other than more content, Guitar Hero II isn't a hell of a lot different than the last one. This is a good thing, and if you were a fan of the first one.... than chances are you already have the this one. HANGAR 18 FTW!!!

guitar hero two....one of the best games of the time it was made.play as several different chacters with different stles. Earn cash and go buy new guitars, custom paint jobs, songs, outfits, and new characters. play against your riends in face-off and pro-face-off, or play along with your friends in co-op mode. Go from guitar zero to hero in practice and training mode. Have fun out there man.

The game for wanna be guitar stars. This game is imposible not to like, and never gets old. Once you beat it, play a harder level, or play with friends. It also has a solid song selection, my favorites, Sweet Child O' Mine and Heart Shaped Box. An amazing party game. If you are really good, look into Guitar Hero Tournaments. They pop up everywhere, and are a good place to show off. Only one flaw though, the bonus songs are shit! The career songs are the only ones you need to play.

This game is not as revolutionary as it is smoetimes thought; they were many other games like this, it's just this got the mainstream appeal. It got that because it used music that people in the US liked, not some J-Pop. Still, it's a awesome game with huge replay value. I'll go into sections about the game....... Graphics: This game really dosen't change that much graphically than the previous game. The characters do look a little better, but this game is not played for graphics; everyone knows that. It's played for its addicting gameplay, and is a good strarter kit for picking up a real guitar. Sound: This game has a amazing setlist, much better than the first. The first game had too many radio friendly songs, which was probably good for making a first game of this type; still, i'm glad a lot of these songs aren't hugely played on the radio. The game has around 60 songs, 45 normal songs plus the bonus 20 something songs. Most of the normal songs are great, and a blast to play; although, some songs on here really suck. A couple i personally hate are,"Woman,"Rock This Town", and the song by Spinal Tap, can't remember its name. All of the other songs are pretty fun at least. The bonus songs are more of a mixed bag, some of which are really awesome, and some just really suck. Still, there bonus, so you really can't go wrong there. Gameplay: This game is much easier in one aspect:hammer ons and pull ofs. In the first game it was annoying to have the button before it to do the hammer on or pull offs; this game is much easier, as it allows you to just press the button without having to strum it. Still, this game is much harder in terms of solos; they are much longer and more difficult. The gameplay is still great, but easier this time around. Controller: I like this controller much more than the first game's; it just fits better around the fingers, and is more comfortable. It also looks cooler. Control: The controls are still tight as ever, although i do hope in GH3 they make it a little easier on the reaction time; you either hit the note or not, which could be fixed. Replay Value: This game has a ton of replay value, as there's 4 diffrent difficulty modes. That's a lot of play time to master each song on each difficulty. There's also alternate costumes, new characters, and more bonus songs to buy. Overall, this is a excellent sequel, and a must buy music game.
