My Rainbow Six Vegas Review

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls
Innovative concepts
Fantastic multiplayer
Intense action
Engaging story
Just plain fun

In Rainbow Six: Vegas, you play as a Elite Special Agent on the Rainbow team. You start the game looking for a terrorist name Irena. You start off in Mexico, but soon after, two members from the squad are taken hostage and you find yourself battling terrorists who have taken over the city of Las Vegas. The rest of the game is spent looking for your teammates and trying to stop Irena from launching a nuclear weapon. There is a pretty big twist at the end of the story.

The gameplay is top-notch. You control a squad of two teammates, which are controlled by you. You can move them into strategic position, have them breach rooms with frags, breaching charges, smoke gas, etc. The difficulty is pretty high; you have to know what you are doing and have a game plan for each area, or you will get smoked quick. When your teammates get shot too much, they fall down, and you have to rescue them before they die.

The graphics aren't the very best, but they are good enough. The controls are really good and not very complicated at all. The story is pretty damn good for being a 1st person shooter (usually 1st person shooters have next to no good story).

You have access to a lot of real life weapons, including an Ak-47, Famas, G636, Desert Eagle and other assorted assault rifles, handguns and Sniper Rifles. The equipment in this game range from grenades to silencers to nightvision and thermal goggles.

The multiplayer is very fun and addictive. There are many maps out for the game, with some remakes from previous RS games. You can customize your characters look to make it how you please.

Overall, I give this game a perfect score, because it deliveries on everything a 1st person shooter should.

What happens in Vegas...

Pros Cons
Fantastic multiplayer Poor storytelling
Amazing visuals
Intense action

Las Vegas. A city of women, gambling, and... guns? Yup. The terrorists have come to Vegas and they mean business. Naturally, you are called in to stop the threat. While the single player of Rainbow Six Vegas is short, it does help to prepare you for the real bread and butter of the game which is the multiplayer.

"You play as Logan Keller in search of two of his friends who have been captured by the terrorists. Of course, you end up in Vegas and soon you figure out that this is much bigger than you thought. There is very little more to the story. You are simply briefed in a chopper about what you need to do and then you simply jump out and do it.

"Although there is not much to the story, the gameplay is amazing! There is a great cover system similar to the one in Gears of War which brings a whole new dimension to the game. Instead of always crouching behind cover, you simply walk up to a wall or box and press and hold the left trigger. From here you can blind fire and also assess your situation.

"Weapon customization is another awesome addition to an already great package. You can fit your guns with all kinds of scopes, sights, high capacity mags, and silencers. This means that not only can you pick the right gun for the mission, but you can also customize it to fit your needs exactly. Whether you are the silent and deadly type, the run and gun type, or somewhere in between, the options are vast!

"Like I said before, the multiplayer is the bread and butter of this game. It is very addicting. It is the reason why you should get this game. When you start out, you customize your player and then get right into the game. As you win more games, you will unlock more things to customize your player. From clothes, to armor, to hats and gas masks... and pink camouflage? Yes, I think everyone has a very unique looking player. You can even use the Xbox LIVE camera to take a picture of your face and put it on your player. If that isn't customization, I don't know what is!

"The graphics on this game are beautiful and are a huge step up from the last Rainbow Six games. Rainbow Six Vegas has a very distinct look that no other game has. Everything is sharp, windows smash into thousands of pieces, and the environments are visually amazing and memorable.

"I hope this review convinced you to get this game because it is really awesome! If you are thinking of getting Rainbow Six Vegas 2, definitely get this first. You won't regret it!

An excellent addition to the Tom Clancy Frachise

Pros Cons
Intense action Not enough content

Fantastic multiplayer

I first played Rainbow Six on the PC way back when and i've been hooked ever since. I loved the huge emphasis on teamwork and team control. Rainbow Six: Vegas brings back the intense action from the series with a few new tricks in the bag. This games boasts some impressive graphics, great gameplay, and smart AI. Its multiplayer is incredible, as it has been since the introduction of Xbox Live. the biggest downside is that its not very long and it doesn't have a whole lot of extra maps to play around on. Overall, this is a great game for not only fans of the franchise but fans of great multiplayer.

RB6 Vegas

Tom Clancy did really good with this game. I love the weapon selection and the Story Mode. But my favorite by far has to be the online play. The way you can customize your character with different armo and colors is really cool. Which I'm really glad that in Vegas 2 they have encorperate the same thing.

gears meets ghost recon advanced warfighter

and the jackpots keep on coming. you may think that the rainbow six series is a bunch of crap. this is the only exception. this game has you fighting rebels from mexico who somehow make thier way to the infamous sin city. your mission: clear out real hotels and casinos and rid las vegas of terrorist scum. Aresenal: some pretty powerful artillery with endless customization options via ammo box.ROE: any kind you like. this game is awesome but a little challenging. a must buy

Great Tactical Shooter

This is a phenominal gaming experience. Where else do you get to have great first person gun battles on a casino floor? Slot machines blow up and neon lights blow out while gunning down terrorists and I love every second of it. The game has amazing graphics, great guns, great tactical gameplay, great level design, intense challenging action, and a good story to top it all off. This game will be challenging for anybody so I definitely don't recommend this game to noobs cause you will get pissed off way too quick, this game requires patience, planning, and skill. This is a must for any hardcore shooter fan.

Realistic

Graphically this game looks good I do wish it was a little better. The campaign is a lot of fun and extremely hard if you play it on realistic difficulty. Now the online play is were this game really takes off. They have the norm in attack and defend, last one standing matches with their own twist. They also have 4 player co-op, Terrorist Hunt witch is a lot of fun. This game is absolutely a buy.

The Perfect Shooter: Prologue

You wall cover and peek around a corner and see a cluster of five terrorists. You immediately take two of them down with your MTAR21 equiped with an acog scope before they can even react. You pull back to reload and hear a smoke grenade go off, followed by the words motherf***** and a burst of bullets from a P90. You then listen to an interesting dialogue from two terrorists: "Go!" "No you go!" "Grow a pair of balls!". You proceed to toss a frag grenade around the corner and watch the last three terrorists tick off the enemy count and the words 'Mission Successful' appear on screen. It's these moments that make a game, and Rainbow Six Vegas is full of them. This game has everything: great single player, great multiplayer, very smart A.I., great online match making and modes, insanely customizable online characters, a massive selection of weapons that have huge amounts of customization options, normal and realistic game modes, and matches that are never the same and never get old, and you get one top notch shooter. But every top notch shooter has some flaws, and Vegas is no exception, though its are minor. It suffers from some glitchiness and a tendency to freeze every once in a while. But most of the glitches have been fixed by patches, and the freezes are pretty few and far between. Overall this would have to be tied for my favorite Xbox 360 game to date, and should be in any self-respecting shooter/action fan's game library.
