Metal equals Pure Gold

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Lousy camera/viewpoint
Engaging story
Epic boss fights
Tight controls

In Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, players are taken back in time in order to walk a mile in the shoes of the enigmatic Big Boss, Solid Snake's Father. The visuals are arguably one of the most impressive ever seen on the PS2. The controls are brick solid and the story is thrilling and successful. If you have played the other games in the franchise you will be thrilled to have many of your questions answered in the prequel. If you're looking for a game that'll keep your mouth drooling, youre heart racing, and youre eyes glued, your search is over.

MGS3 Subsistence

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Doesn't live up to expectations
Engaging story
Tight controls

Can MGS3 fix what MGS2 broke? Lets find out shall we. MGS3 is a good game. Yes it does work to patch up some wounds left by the tripe known as MGS2 sons of liberty. Lets face it only die hard fanboys liked that game that much. I used to be one but I saw the light real quick. MGS3 is nice change of pace from the second game. The controls are good. Still a little clunky but familiar none the less. The audio is good as well. The sounds in the jungle are amazing. The guns sound well. Nice and loud like people think guns should sound. The story is pretty decent, much better then MGS2 drivel. It has a classic feel to it. Matter of fact the whole game gives me that feeling of MGS goodness. But not all is well and good though. This game did repair my faith in MGS series a little but I still see some of the same old problem from MGS2 pop up and some new ones. Some of the dialogue in the game can get cheesy and corny as hell. Just like MGS2 it gets painful to watch and listen. The story for the most part is good. I liked it alot. The game suffers some times from the same over the top ridicolous japanese anime action sequences that plagued MGS2. Also just like MGS2 some of the bosses can be very ridicolous. Just wait till you see the fear. It will make you want to quit the series forever. Also my biggest complaint is that they had the best villian and they had to screw it all up. yes Im talking about volgin. Hes bisexual. Its just dumb as hell. he grabs snakes crotch for christ sakes. I wouldnt take him seriously at all and I dont. MGS3 is a good game and I highly recommend that people who are interested get subsistence becaue you get the free moving camera that offers a 3rd person view. You dont know how good this game looks till you see it with the new camera angle. Also anyone who buys this game its also comes with the original Metal Gear and Metal gear: solid snake, both are much better then MGS2 and even MGS3 some what. They both remind me more of MGS then those 2 games did. If your a MGS fan who feels like the series has gone down the crapper then buy this game, because its probably the only good MGS game you will ever see again.

This is the one to buy

Pros Cons
Loads of content Poor storytelling
Epic boss fights Unresponsive controls

If you're looking for the ultimate PS2 Metal Gear game, this is it. The new over-the-shoulder camera helps immensely (though you'll still need to revert to the overhead cam at times), and helps shows off the natural beauty of this fine-looking PS2 game. The storyline is a little goofy, but the overall experience (especially the last boss fight) make this a keeper.

The Repeat we all Love

Subsistence the ritual repeat that Kojima does for all metal gear solid games this one though is perhaps his best one. in this egame they take the usual view and give it a little revamp and now make it so that you can actually control the camera and see the world in a ful 360 degree view. its like you can actually see what snake can see. the over all game is the same with the addition of some new camo and the all new movie theather, and lets not forget the new much apreciated if you are a die hard fan, the metal gear x and metal gear solid snake original snes games that have been added. so if you are a metal then this is the game for you especially if you are a rookie to the seris but if you are just a person who has snake eater, then you might want to skip over this one cause you might not apreciate this as much as some would.

One of the greatest Ps2 games of all time

This game was magnificent. Not only did it have an amazing story and some characters you could never forget but it also had some of the best graphics I have ever seen on the Playstation 2. Even if some of the controls were hard to get used to and the mouths kinda moved off balance the story kept you so sucked in you didn't even notice. Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence had to be the best Playstation 2 game of all time. It had a very emotional ending that was (to me) even more emotional then Final Fantasy 7's death of Aeris. It had extra's that kept you busy for awhile and the two old Metal Gear games that Metal Gear fans have longed to get there hands on. The camoflauge and stamina thing made the game a bit tougher. The camera on Subsitence was also a load better then the camera we were used to (which was from a birds eye view).Subsistence's camera did make the boss fight a heck of a lot easier too.

MGS 3: Subsistence

This is one of the best games of the decade without a doubt. It is way better than the second one and just as good as the first one. I love this game and have beat it on all modes, including European Extreme. It has great graphics and even better story. The boss battles are somewhat hard and are really fun to play. Getting through another one of Ssnake's adventures makes me want MGS4 even more.
