Lord of The Rings

This game overall was pretty good. The controls a decent for game that was first a PC game and then a console game. The AI at time can be pretty stupid on bothsides enemies and allies. Lots of times they get stuck on a tree or something and you have to re-direct them to wherever you wanted them to go originally. Overall the game is pretty good and you should definitly check it out if you haven't already checked it out on the PC.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II

The game really captured the epic battles of the LoftR movies. The stories for the three races were fun and I really loved building my forts and expanding my territory in the single battle modes. The thing that really bugged me was the slow downs and the game freezing on me when I had maxed minions attacking the opponent with multiple magic casting. Eventually I just got feed up and traded the game in.

Good game but

I would actually recommend C & C three over this game but if you like the RTS type of games this is not a bad game to play.

Wait....what?

First, lemme say that i have NEVER watched any of the LOTR Movies, so this game made absolutely no sense to me storywise. But as I watched my huge army of goblins kick the crap out of some elves, i fell in love... It was a very decent RTS, and i probably would have had more appreciation for the game if i would seen the movies. But in the end it was very fun. A minor flaw is the water battles. I really didn't care for those, but other than that, its a hell yeah!

Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth 2 Reveiw

The Game is entertaining and dosent give you that 20 minutes into the game boring feeling. The objectives keep you zoned into the game and I like skirmish mode. I think it is a fairly good game.

lotr battle 4 mid earth

The first feature that caught my eye in lord of the rings battle for middle earth was the playable factions in the game(elves, men, dwarfs, orcs, goblins, etc.),the second was that unlike age of empires games when you create soldiers they spawn in battallion form ,instead of one soldier taking a million hits they die more like they do in the movie,And for me that was just gravy. Now to cut to the chase, this game is a good RTS and if you are a hardcore lotr fan/nerd you will enjoy this greatly I say this because the creators obviously put a lot of thought into the characters, the selection of heros is incredebly vast, and you can fight along with all types of vicious beasts like the wolves of isengard and Gandalf(lol). Although the gameplay is good ther are some cons in the game, such as;the army size, when you have five thousand gold from trampoling multiple enemys and you have one hundred farms you'll want to spend it on material posessions like extra orcs, but you'll be extremely disipointed when that cursed "NOT ENOUGH COMMAND POINTS" sigh appears. PROS.Good character selection .Selection between good/evil CONS.As mentioned I give this display of "battalions instead of nearly invinco-soldiers" a 4.75 Sincerely JR

Definitely a must-buy for LoTR fans!

One would say that RTS games are never going to be any good on ANY consoles. But this game breaks certain barriers making RTS games CONTROLLABLE and definitely easily manageable. First off, the single player is pretty solid. For any RTS and LoTR fans, they will love the story right away. Then, there is the multiplayer portion which is pretty amazing. The Hero vs. Hero games are very addictive and can get pretty hectic depending on the level range between you and your opponent. Overall, this game is definitely a must-buy for all LoTR fans and RTS fanatics. Don't worry, this game won't make you wish for a mouse and keyboard... unless of course, you have already played it on the PC.

Great game, awsome controlls, a must buy for RTS fans.

Don't let the fact that it's an RTS on a console fool you. This is a great game. Add to the fact that it's in the world of Lord of the Rings, and you have a real winner in my book.

Great Game

LOTRBFME is a really fun game if anything more for its online as opposed to the single player. If any of you have ever played the Command and Conqur Red Alert games you will find this game kind of familier. You are basically in controll of an entire mini kingdom where you need to build verious structures to gain resources and to creat and train troups etc. In most maps you can play agianst 4 differant people and battle over the map. Maps are varied and interesting some with obsticles that you can use for your advantage. You build up your little town and fortify it, set up defenses and then creat your army for the attack. Each army has an assortment of soldiers that can attack in differant ways. You have knights on horses, archers, trebutches, etc. Other races have trolls, worriers, spiders and other soldiers. Armies can be upgraded also, archers can learn fire as can trebutches, soldiers can get stronger. The game has plenty of depth for this similar to Red Alers and in some ways moreso.

The graphics are good considering it is a early title but it suffers from some slowdown in some areas most likely due to ineffeciant loading. it would have been better if the developers spent more time polishing the game but it is still good.

Great but...

The graphics are awsome, the control is ok, the sound is like a 3.25. But the best part is the story line is the best part of the game. I make the game a must bye.
