Lost Odyssey was created by some of the people behind the Final Fantasy series, and you can tell right away. In fact this is how FF 12 should have been like in stead of the average game that was given to use.

There are many things to like about Lost Odyssey. First the unique premise. A Immortal whose lived a thousand years, but wakes up with no memory, and as the journey continues you slowly remember. The second thing was the difficulty of the game. I haven't played a really hard RPG in years, I enjoyed it even when it frustrated me because I kept dying, it make you enjoy the game even more when you beat the game. Third the dream sequences were good also, and emotional. Finally the music was great, I really enjoyed it.

Now on to the reasons why I only gave it a 4 stars. Some of the reasons are the same as why I liked the game. First the story was good, but takes way to long to get going. Second the dream sequences went on forever, and got tiring. Finally the load times in the game were to long and annoying. This is supposed to be a 360 game right. The load time shouldn't take to long.

Overall Lost Odyssey is a very good game, though not great. This game isn't for everyone, just RPG fans.

Indeed a Lost Treasure

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals
Engaging story
Epic boss fights
Just plain fun

I thought this game was going to be boring after playing/watching for the first 20 minutes. But after beating the game I thought that i just played one of the best game ever came out for the 360. It has a deep storytelling and a fun gameplay. The graphics is good, the bosses in this game was really challenging, the ring assembley was great, and I like the fact that you can teach the immortals skills by using accessories and earning SPs. The things I didn't like about this game was long loading times and some long cut scenes. But other than that the game is great and it is a must buy for any RPG fan.

Guys must be nuts not to love this game.

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Repetitive gameplay
Awesome audio
Engaging story
Loads of content
Just plain fun

First of all the 360 is getting more and more rpg's. This game is also made by the father of final fantasy with his new team, Mistwalker, my new favorite dev. This game has a feel of the old final fantasy formula. You know the one that works. The game makes you actually care about your characters. This game will put you to tears if you really let yourself in. And the game does a great job at that. The main thing about an rpg is the story. The story here rocks. The 1000 lost dreams are very fun and interesting to read.

This game does come in 4 disk but diehard fan's should not have to worry about that. Coming on 4 disk doesn't mean its a bad game. FF7 anyone? This game gets overlooked and its a shame. This game is a AAA for a jprpg. The only grip that many get is that the formula that they use is old school. Hell if it aint broke don't fix it. They do try to add a little twist to it though using a ring combat system. Another thing about this game. This game IS NOT EASY. The AI are very smart and will actually make you use strategy. Which to me is excellent. I hate having to grind my character and just press A over and over again because I just overpower them. No my friend, not this game. You do that, I gurantee 40% percent of the time you will die. This game just gets to you man, I love this game and can't wait for LO2. 5/5 from me. Do yourself a favor and check it out. If your a fan of jprpg's this won't dissapoint.

Underrated

A very good game. I find this game to be very fun and the graphics are superb. The combat can be tedious at times but the encounter rate is low so it evens it out some

If you are into JRPG's you will enjoy this. So far the 360 does not have much to offer as far as rpg's go so this is worth a try.

A step in the right direction

Simply put, if you're not a fan of turn-based RPG's, steer clear of Lost Odyssey. It's definitely not the best RPG to jump into and play. The difficulty level can be extremely frustrating, and its plot leaves much to be desired. But if you're a fan of traditional Japanese roleplaying games, give it a chance and you'll find a huge amount of depth and many hours of gameplay. Kaim and his cohorts aren't the most interesting bunch of characters you'll ever meet, and the cliche of "powerful heroes with a forgotten past" is inexcusable. Some glimmer of great writing can be seen through the tales of the 1000 years, but these are actual text based stories in a medium that has become very visual. Personally, I don't mind sitting through pages of text for some great stories, but I can see how it would turn others off. Though the game is massive (over 35+ hours of gameplay if you take some time and do a few sidequests or exploration), the plot quality doesn't match up to gameplay quantity. Cliches abound. Overpowered little children? Check. Out of place song smack-dab in the middle of the game? Check. Annoying fetch quests? Check, check, check. The antagonist is revealed within the first few minutes of gameplay and remains uninteresting throughout the game's entirety. You never once feel the urge to stop this guy or to save this world, which translates to a yawn-fest of ridiculous magnitude. So why did I give this game such a relatively high score? It's tough to fault Lost Odyssey on a technical level. The graphics are good, and some cutscenes are incredible. The voice actors do a solid job, albeit with an uninspired script. The gameplay is rock solid, minus a minor gripe about the occasional frequency of random battles. With the exception of the above-mentioned song number halfway through the game, the music is downright amazing. If you're hungering for a lengthy JRPG on a modern console, give Lost Odyssey a try. I look forward to seeing what Mistwalker will do in the future.

worth the 60 bucks

Ok lets get one thing straight, Lost Odyssey is worth every penny. The only reason i didnt give it a perfect 5 is minor things. Some load times is a bit to long but come on u bought a 4 disk game.....you in a rush? It IS your normal JRPG and i like the turn based games. Graphics are above average and the almost seemless ingame movie to cut scene movie during battles are great. The story line isnt 100 percent the newest most amazing thing u have ever seen however, it does capture the imagination and your intrest throughout. Kiam is a great leading man for this role hes everything u want in a character leading a LONG LONG LONG game. This game reminds me of a Final Fantasy 7 time. When RPG's werent all RUN RUN RUN RUN fight that means nothing...RUN RUN RUN RUN...another random boring fight...RUN RUN RUN RUN...ok wait where was i supposed to go again....RUN RUN RUN RUN...I WAS ALREADY HERE WRONG PLACE..RUN BACK RUN BACK RUN BACK.....oh i had to go there....RUN RUN RUN RUN...ok i need a book...be right back with that...there are some new things however involved with this game. I personally like the ring status which helps with attacks and so on...and it does not have that...LETS LEARN EVERYTHING NOW..just to be not able to do it for another 10 hours...Lost Odyssey is worth your 60 bucks....dont miss this one!!!

Lost My Money & My Mind

Personaly, this game doesn't deserve a score but i couldn't put a zero. Straight out this game is horrible and is a waist of time and life for anyone who isn't an RPG fan. I lost my money and my mind. So, as a resolution i tried to give the game back and get my money back but i couldn't. So as another resolution i burned all the disks and my brother and i pissed on the flames.
