Creative

This game is definately not your average fighting game or RPG or whatever. The originality is definately something to check out in and of itself. One of the coolest aspects of this game is definately the landscape. It's wonderful and the mystery behind this forbidden land is very curious and envolops an imaginative mind. The graphics are perfect for the experience of fantasy, magic, and depravety that the game obviously wishes to produce. The only thing keeping this game from getting a 5.0 from me is the limited sound track, fighting and straight game play. Also the horse gets kind of gitty at times. The ending is one of the best of any game that I've seen and finishes this game of wonder off nicely. It's certainly reminiscent of Ico, but that is a trait easily forgiven given the quality of its other atributes. The battles with the colossi are memorable and legendary. Shadow of the Colossus is a game that was not rushed through and well thought out.

A Colossul game!!

A beautiful game! I enjoyed every second of it. I loved the feeling of hunting down boss battles and each one was very unique. Along the hunt there is soo much scenery to enjoy. The only sad part is it ends way too quickly and there not much replay value other than showing it off to freinds. I finished it in about 10 hours, but it was a great ride all the way through!

Light in the shadows.

Famito Ueda and the revered team behind the PS2 cult hit "Ico" bring this new masterpiece to life with awesome character design ,Intricate enviroments, and epic gameplay. The premise You Vs. 16 Giant Colossi.Defeating them successfully will bring back the soul of your dead love. You are equipped solely with a Bow and Arrow,Sword, and trusty steed "Agro".No weapon's or armor upgrades either just you and them. Some might think that this formula would'nt work ,but it does greatly. The gameplay feels "epic" almost "Movie Like" because of the lack of huge health and strength gauges. The gameplay is only broken up in-between battles while riding to the next. The story line is simple and really doesn't have much of a progression besides beating each colossus...until about 12 battles into the game there is a little twist. The only problems with gameplay are getting used to the odd feel of the control's mainly jumping and holding on to thing's(Ledges,Colossi,Etc.)But after you get used to that it's extremely smooth. I do have a few complaint's about the camera though. Mainly during battles. You can get a little disoriented while trying to keep up with what direction you are facing. And the aim on your bow and arrow could have been a little better. They could have worked the riding and shooting mechanic a little differently as well. But, besides those little nuisances the game is pure 150k gold and is a must have for any "HardCore" gamer.Be on the look out for Fumito Ueda's next colossal creation.

Shadow of ICO

I loved Ico and still play it today and I was hoping for a sequel but this will have to do. Where Ico was an epic journey Shadow is a painful one. The game is in the same tradition as Ico as far as graphics and the look of the main character. This is a move from point A to point B, fight and repeat game. It's basically a Boss fight game which can get difficult due to poor camera and controls. The colossus are amazing to see in action that's for sure. The problem is the kid has a grip like a girl and can't hold on for long. There is no story to speak of so it's not deep by any means. The game became frustrating very quick and is now collecting dust. Ico had great replay but there's no point in playing Shadow again. I give them credit for taking a risk and trying something different though.

One of the best games I've ever played

Shadow of Colossus is a mix of action/adventure, strategy, and puzzle games. It makes forcess you to use every bit of mind power, you brain can produce. The graphics weren't too shabby, but during boss battles, they were amazing. The dificulty was perfection, rose to every battle you won. Also, the artistic qualtiy of the colossi were awe-inspiring. The only problem I had with this game was, is the camera control. You have very little power over it and it's very hard to control, but other than that it's a great game. Short though, it's a must rent in my book.

OMFG THE GRAFICS

Playstation Underground sent me a demo of this game and OMG. The visuals of this game are amaizing. You dont realize how BIG the world is untill you jump off your horse and run around. And the Colossus are SO COOL. It looks like a CG movie but your really playing it. In the demo you can either jump on the bus size mace he has and go up his arm WHILE hes swingin hes mace to get you off OR you can grab the hair on his leg and contine up his back. i cant wait for the real game to come out!!!
