I know I am back tracking to a game that has been release a yr ago but I couldn't let nothing being said about shadow colossus. This is a great game with interesting storyline and game play. Get your hands on it if you haven't already.
A feast for the eyes and a test of wits make this a rare PS2 gem.

Graphics 4.5 - The visuals are nothing to right home about, but the artistic direction is simply amazing. The animations are also very well done. Sound 4.5 - Sets the mood very well. The game is quiet while you search for your prey and cinematic orchestra music plays when you encounter one of the colossi. Gameplay 4.25 - Simplistic but well executed. Everything is easy enough done, but not so easy that it loses interest. Replayability 4.5 - Along with playing through the game on either normal or hard difficulty, there are also time trials as well as various things to find in the open world. Overall the story is amazing and the art style is incredible. The puzzles that are the colossi are also something that hasn't quite been done in a game before. Truely a great experience.

Shadow Of the Colossus is for the Playstation 2. You climb, stab, and swim to beat 16 colossus. you are a guy who is trying to revive your girlfreind. But first you are told to fight and defeat 16 colossus. {{{GRAPIHCS}}} This game look good but can turn fuzzy some times but. It does not really matter because when you are on a colssus and your stabbing him with your sword and when all the blood is flying around it adds alot of gameplay (and gore). The Colossus look amazing from the huge i mean HUGE! To the smallest colossus. They all look amazing. {{{SOUND}}} This game sounds so amazing from the stabbing to the music. When you stab a colossus or you find his weak point the music starts playing the music is so baddass!. The sound of the stabs are like music to my ears. When you ride your horse and your battling a colossus with your horse the horse will always make noise.and this game sound so amazing i will buy the game for the music!(or the sound track). {{{CONTROLS}}} Ok the controls in this game are great. you move the guy you are with the left analog stick you move the camrea with the right analog stick. you climb on the colossus with the R1 button and you hold on it with R1 you stab the colossus with Triangle or with the Square button (i forgot). The game controls are great. {{{GAMEPLAY}}} This game is so much fun i will buy this game if i where you. you get to climb on huge monster and stab them who does not like that! you also get a horse to ride on and you can use the horse to help you defeat a colossus. after you beat the game you unlock the time attack mode you have to beat the colossus under a time limit. {{Controls}} 4.5 {{Sound}} 4.7 {{Grapihcs}} 4.1

What more is there to say? Even for the ps2 the graphics are awesome and enhance the xperience of the game. The controls are easy to get used to and more importantly, climbing a colossus is just fun. You get a sense of achievement every time you take down a colossus, not many games can do that. The sound is magnificent, whether you're riding on horseback or hearing the colossus fall down the sound is awesome, also if you have a stereo system you should play the game in stereo just to hear the different sound effects that comprise the whole enviornment. All in all, this is a great game and one of the best ever made, if you have a ps2 you owe it to yourself to pick this game up. It's definately a 5.0

What iz this? This haz to be one of the most overated gamez in a long time. Granted, the battlez with the colosae are freakin' awesome, but everything else mostly sucks. The game almost feelz az if itz not completely finished. This waz, for the most part, a waste of my time. Although, not a horrible game in relation to some otherz, given the hype surrounding it, I wuold have to say that I am highly dissapointed.

Okay so i was bored, it was a boring saturday so i went to the mall with my family. I found forty bucks on the ground. I decided to keep them. What an investment! I bought shadow of the colossus. I heard so much good stuff about it and i played the demo. I was enticed. This action adveture game is about a wanderer and his horsed named Agro who along with the body of a girl go to the forbidden lands. He goes there in hope of reviving the girl, but to do this he must kill 16 colossi. So that's where the fun begins. The game controls are nice and easy to learn. Agro really helps get you places and is needed for some of the colossi battles (see sand worm battle). The graphics are just proof that the PS2 is still capable of great things. The music really got you in the mood of the game and really stood out when it needed to. The only bad thing was the camara got stuck in bad places but thanks to the right analog stick that was fixed but not entirely. All of the colossi battles were like boss battles of end boss battles. The last one really did the game justice. Overall the game goes to show that theres always a game that will redefine or reinvent a genre a little or a lot. Shodow of the Colossus did just that!

Shadow of the Colossus is a great game, but it could have been better. The game itself has a great story behind it. You play the role of a hero who has to find and destroy giant colossus's. The game is a fun game, but there are some bumps in the road that should have been smoothed out before the game was launched. First of all, an adventure game has never been so easy to complete! Finding the Colossus's is simple, just follow the light beam from your sword that leads you directly in front of the colossus! Then, destroying the colossus is another easy task. You recieve unlimited lives, but usually during these battles you only go through 1 or 2 because of the simplicity of fighting. Every monster is the same; you shine the sword on its weak spot and climb up the beast to reach it and stab it. The game is simple, but thats not the only flaw. Between boss battles, there is nothing for your player to do. You go directly from the castle to the colossus, with no side challenges or tasks and no mini games or distractions. This makes the game wear off easily and is not enjoyable. Overall, the game isnt that bad. With a few tweaks and other distractions to entertain you along the way, the game could be the next big thing. Maybe there is hope for the ultimate Shadow of the Colossus game, if the company decides to release a sequal!
Epic.

Shadow of the Colossus came as a surprise to me. When I first heard about it (then dubbed Wanda and the Colossus) I was really interested, but doubted that it would make it stateside. Luckily for me, and the rest of North America, it did. The premise of Shadow is defiently unique: the only enemies in the game are bosses, and theres very little to do in the world except find these bosses. This may sound like a terrible idea, but these bosses (called Colossi in the game and are sixteen in number) will change your opinion of scale in a video game forever. Some of the Colossi are enormous, easily topping the size of skyscrappers. Then there are the more-unique ones: small ram-like creatures with protective shells, flying birds, electric eels. All the Colossi seem to belong in their enviroment, and almost all of their weaknesses depend on it. Whether it be having them be pushed up by a geyser or rammed into a column, the make-shift puzzles involved with defeating these beasts are truly unique. The world is immersive, to say the least. While most games give you goals to keep you interested, Shadow's enviroments are enough to draw you in for hours, even after you've completed the game. They are beautiful and mysterious, making you want to visit the entire area to try to find more broken walls or hidden hundred-floor arenas. The Colossi are also very-well done. They all offer a unique animal/rock hybrid, leaving many questions about their origins. The music that accompany them is also amazing, just when things start to get intense the track changes and the atmosphere just seems perfect. Just about the only thing wrong with Shadow is it's control scheme, which leaves a lot to be desired. In another dispatch from most games, this story leaves a lot to the imagination. The characters are mysterious but likeable, whether it be the silent protagonist, his loyal steed Agro, or the girl there trying to save. A final tip: look at the hero's face after every fight.
