Daxter

Daxter is perhaps one the best games out there for the PSP. On top of exploring what Daxter did for those two years when Jak was held captive by the Baron, it shows that the PSP can be a fun system. For the most part Daxter isn't the most challenging thing you'll come across. Although the boss fights can be a bit difficult. But at the game's core is a very fun, and interesting, experience.

Decent, but cliched

It's good, it just feels like I've been playing the same damn game over and over again everytime I get a platform type game like this. My opinion: alittle on the mediocre side, I say rent it first.

After this game, you'll be saying, "Jak who?"

Ok, we all know that the PSP hasn't come up with any mind blowing games yet, but this one sure comes close. In this game, you take on the role of Daxter, an orange "Ottsell" as he says, to try to rescue your friend Jak. If anyone has played the first two Jak & Daxter games, they will realize that this game takes place sometime between the two. Anyway, Jak is captured and Daxter needs to save him. He takes up employment with an extermination company run by Osmo. Your array of weapons in this game are not guns and fists, but an electric bug swatter and an upgradeable spray tank. You also get to pilot and shoot out of several different vehicles. The controls are also perfect, considering the system this game resides on. The graphics aren't bad either. It looks like a great PS1 game and an alright PS2 game. There is also a cool feature called "Dream Mode." After you collect enough Precursor Orbs, Daxter's dream sequences are unlocked. If you play and win these, you get special upgrades, such as advanced fighting moves and increased health bars. The only downside, enemy A.I is lacking and the game is over way too quickly. But for a PSP game, this is a must have.
