Entering the world of survival horror .. for the fifth time!

Pros Cons

Just after my graduation from college my dad took me to the mall to buy me
a Playstation 3 for a graduation gift.
I was fighting in my mind what game i should get first RE5 or MGS4? hmm.. can't decide on my own because both games seems so great.
In the end i picked RE5 thinking that id get MGS4 some other time and you know what? I never regretted it! i got my Platinum Trophy in 2 weeks.
The first minutes in the game immediately got me hooked! mostly because of the mind blowing visuals and the awesome gameplay.
It was pretty cool that they had "Chris Redfield" back to play as one of the lead roles (although I'd prefer Leon Kennedy, well that's just me) and adding a new member to the RE family "Sheva Alomar", both of them looking good with amazing graphics.
The action is pretty intense! from the jaw dropping physical attacks to blowing up some random oil tanks killing a whole horde. The controls seems awkward at first (I dunno if its just me because I got the Asian PS3 model) but once you get the hang of it you can fly by with ease.
I would also like to point out the boss battles even the cutscenes. i don't mind wasting countless hours watching every cutscene because they are just so damn good!. The boss battles here reminds you how a boss battle should feel and look like, although boss battles become more easier as you unlock some of the powerful guns, well that only disappoints me about this game its one of those games that as you progress the game gets easier.
And finally the game has a fantastic story line, RE5 explains how the Virus Outbreak phenomenon happened as you progress through the game, you can also unlock the history of resident evil on your achieves.
Buy this game, trust me its worth it!

Woo! Resident Evil 5 is here!!! And it was worth the wait!

Resident Evil 5 is a great game with great visuals and a great story. You play as Chris Redfield, the first time since RE1. Let's start with the visuals, uh, great! The nice lighting and details get you really in the mood, and the decaying zombies look great! Now, then there is the voice acting, yeah, you see that scrawling crazy guy in the corner? He's the person who made the voice acting! I love how it feels like you are in the same place, but people like Irving and sometimes even Chris get a little wierd. One thing do love is Sheva's hot African/British accent. Loads of awesome fights are great, but why add the Reaper, why!? I keep dying!

My opinion?
Resident Evil 5 was a great game and I really want to thank Capcom for wasting over 30 hours and growing of my life.

Probably One Of The Best Games In History

One of the best games I have ever played in my life. I don't have one complaint about it. I mean, it has very addictive gameplay, epic visuals, amazing boss battles, sinister enemies that will give you nightmares for months to come, intriguing storyline, old faces from previous games, even more addictive Mercenaries Mode, and solid controls. Cannot wait for Resident Evil 6.

Resident Evil 5

RE5 is RE4 with co-op, online gameplay, (add on content?? on the disc that needs extra charge). The game gives lot of extras of all tipes from costumes to items to mercenaries files, etc all of which are great.

The item managment improved but with a problem melee and bulletproof vest take 1 slot of your item menu meaning that instead of becoming more powerful than before by having better armor and weapons you have to choose between armor, weapons, ammo and health items.

Enemies are just as smart "as those ganados detailed in the Kenedy report" (RE4) with just one improvement in jumping that feels poorly animaited, also at no point of the game you see an army of majini larger than 10 except maybe in the beggining which was lame since in most trailers and photos you could see majini hordes all around you overwhelming Chris. (this NEVER happens)

Good, but not Great

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Doesn't live up to expectations
Intense action
Addictive gameplay

It's been awhile since RE4 arrived. So, it was good to finally see another installment to one of my favorite game series ever made. The controls and animations are much better then it's predecessors. Graphics are beautiful, story is awesome. After beating a level, you will usually get a cinematic that just makes you say the following, "eh maybe just one more level." Even at 3 o' clock in the morning and you have work/school in the morning. It was fun to play and Probably could be played through again and again, just to get points or trophies, also for the awesome story. It has pretty much anything in this game for you.

Yet, there was a big heap of hype on this game. Just my opinion, but I don't feel that it lived up to all of it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, for the most part. In the end, it just felt kind of the same old thing. Also, its not a big deal and it didn't take much from the game but, why can't I move around while I am aiming? Something I never got with the series. There's a slight stop before the zombie gets to you to attack so it helps you not get attacked as much. Its hardly noticeable, especially in between the action, but I think it wouldn't be needed if you could move while shooting, like you can in any other game. It's much better if you play with a buddy, the computer alone most likely doesn't do the right thing, dies too much, heals you when you don't need it and wastes bullets at times. If you're playing with a partner the best thing they do for you is give you extra places to place things that you'll need.

So overall, the cons don't take too much away from the game, but it just isn't enough to get a perfect score. The game is pretty much great for anyone who enjoys action, adventure and shooter games. With a hint of puzzles in between. So, if you're a fan of the series, pick it up. Play it, Beat it, Play it again.
