In my endless search for the perfect flight sim, I end upon "Heroes of the pacific". Not exactly in the " Ace Combat" level but it has it's positives although few of them. AC is about as close to a flight sim as you will find. My only complain with it and all others is that you cannot land a plane. Somehow game makers fail to throw this in. Heroes fails at this but it is not all bad. Graphically it is gorgeous. The planes, land detail and the water ( The beaches make you want to take a trip to some carribean island) are all beautiful. Sound is decent with guns blazing and planes buzzing by all sound authentic. The control however could have been better. Not that its hard to learn but difficult to keep your targeting riticule steady.Enemies are abundant. Even in the rookie level you have hoardes of Japaneese zeroes coming no matter how many you shoot down. Online gaming is not for the novice and dogfights really do not last long for your planes cannot tolerate much damage. In all, I would not recomend buying it. It is definitely a rental. Graphics : 9 Sound : 8 Control : 6 Online : 3 Replay : 4 Out of a ten in all I would say it rates about 6.
